I grew up with Chopsticks. I've probably gone there close to 100 times. I once tried to order drinks here before I turned 21 (it worked), and I saw Dylan Baker here, an actor who had a bit part in Spiderman 2 & 3. Chopsticks is fine, a nice solid mediocre chinese restaurant in a town that could use more junk food anyway. Having ordered just about everything here, it's safe to say you can save yourself some disappointment by staying away from the japanese/korean offerings (although the sushi was ok) and just get a nice greasy plate of sesame chicken. If you really want good food, stick to Spring st. but if you want to wallow in delicious, fatty americanized chinese food prepared by malaysians, this is the place to go. read more

Skip it. This used to be a great place but the last three times I've gone the wait for food and service has been ridiculous. Last night was the last straw. The owner brought our soup pretty promptly but the rest of the meal order apparently never made it to the kitchen. We watched as people who came in after us got served. Tried getting someone's attention but to no avail. Finally, someone (not the owner who took the order) stopped and asked if we wanted to order. We told him we had but he asked us to please tell us what had been ordered. Five minutes later it appeared. It was okay to not okay. The Szechuan dumpling had about 1/4 tsp worth of sausage. Just dough and sauce-- albeit tasty sauce. But still. Then the wIt for the check...ridiculous. I'm officially done being hopeful about this place. read more

It's pretty great! Love their lunch specials...sometimes the service is a little iffy but for the most part it is a pretty consistent place and we find out selves there weekly...love the take out and they deliver! That makes it all worth it! read more

My son who attends MCLA in North Adams suggested we go out to eat here. The was a fairly substantial wait for a table to open up, but we chose to wait. I am very glad we did. The food was fantastic, everything was. The price was more than reasonable especially given the portions. It was packed so there were times the wait was longer than ideal, but given that there wasn't an empty seat, I totally understand. read more

Seriously? Complaints? About Chopsticks???? Are we even eating in the same PLACE??? One of the few places around--and yeah we DO live out here in "The Sticks" but----to offer a "Double Sauted Pork aka Twice Cooked Pork". And the staff remembers that I LOVE this and will order it EVERY TIME. Others who have been with us have ENJOYED the Crispy Duck---which arrives with a lovely confection of carved carrot and other veggie flowers--we take pics of these fleeting beauties and annoy our friends who are NOT with us. Crispy Orange Chicken. Something I cannot remember the name of---some sort of dumpling---that my very very PICKY foodie son was THRILLED to find on a menu in the East---and LOVED. Well---every thing WE have had there including a four year old Picky Kid's meal of fried tempura style chicken has been WONDERFUL. And the staff is the same all the time---nice to see--and they seem to adore kids and even made our grand daughter her own "beginner" Chopsticks out of a set of wooden sticks, the wrapper folded up, and a rubber band---she has kept these and uses them at home--for a YEAR. Oh and the GORGEOUS Koi Pond out front is a wonderful addition. There are also two extra large amazing indoor tanks kinda over looking the Sushi Bar which is a little---odd---but the fish are really pretty and the alcove dining room alongside the Sushi Bar is quite nice for a small group. Place is always handing out take out orders and always has local FAMILIES not just college kids---and ya know any one that is not on a full scholarship to Williams can AFFORD to eat here----so the "Just Passing Thru" kinda folks miss out on being able to return over and over. The place just missed by inches getting severely damaged in Hurricane Irenes rampage thru Williamstown---FEMA was actually set up in the building next door for weeks---so we were THRILLED to wander over and discover that all was well and I would not have to go thru withdrawal for Twice Cooked Pork. Cannot speak for the Sushi as husband and daughter are allergic to shrimp and I don't eat fish of any kind ever but others we know think it is very good, fresh and flavorful. I'm not a fan of the food here - I find it too greasy and too heavy. I prefer Sushi Thai for sushi, but it's not bad if you're craving stick to your gut Chinese foods. Pricing is good though, especially if it's late night and you're still stuck in the library. read more

wow cannot believe this place is averaging 4.5stars (at the time of this writing). wtf?!! the only reason i give them 3stars is cuz i'm cutting them a major break for being a chinese restaurant out in the sticks. but i guess i'm just being nice. cuz the fact is, even in this little town, this place is surpassed by the only other chinese joint (lucky star)... mind you, lucky star isn't all that good either. anyways, just because williamstown is remote and small doesn't mean you have to settle for crap food that's served here. if you want asian food, go to thai sushi (for thai and sushi), drive an extra 10minutes out east to jae's (for japanese, sushi, fusion, korean). the offerings here are your run-of-the-mill american-chinese stuff. their lunch specials are remarkably cheap and, at first, even tasty. but the more you eat it, the more you start to regret it. then by the time you're walking out of there, you feel bad cuz you feel like you'd done something bad to your body. ingredients are non-fresh, food is greasy. this place also does sushi, but lower your expectations. read more

We've eaten at Chopsticks several times now. In general, it is good Chinese food for those times when you don't want to cook, have a Chinese craving, and want to lounge around like a bum. I generally order their sushi, which is decent. I tend to order simple rolls, and I haven't had too many complaints with their avocado and salmon rolls, etc. My husband always orders his Chinese order (usually chicken with vegetables) as spicy as they can make it, but it always disappoints. NEVER have they made the meal even remotely spicy. He always ends up adding a hefty amount of Sriracha or another hot sauce. However, we keep going back because, in my opinion, it's the best Chinese take-out around the area. read more

Won't be going back. Ive been to Chopsticks many times over the years with my family. Last Friday night, I went there with my mother at around 7 pm. It was busy, but not crazy busy. More like disorganized busy, There were a number of open tables. We stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes waiting for someone, anyone to acknowledge that we were standing there. Nothing. Finally, we flagged down a person who told us it would be a few minutes more. Finally, a girl sat us at our table, and disappeared. Usually, they bring you water, tea and noodles right away. But after sitting there for 10 minutes, again we waved someone down, and finally the girl brought out beverages, apologizing. We both placed our orders. They were very simple. We waited. And we waited. We asked random employees what happened to out server and when would our food come out. Between ordering and finally having the food delivered to the table, 40 minutes had passed and we were both starving. Unfortunately, both of our dishes were ice cold like they had been sitting in the back for the last 40 minutes. Seriously guys? We told the server we had had enough and we were leaving. Some guy came over and offered to remake it, but really, no one has time for that. So all in all, it was a horrible experience and I will never go back there again. read more

The is aweful. The food is not that good, besides that, the service is slow too. If you observe carefully, you can find that the kitchen is located downstairs. The wait staff has to work extra hard to their job. However, the owners, both Wife and Husband, are often mean, even yelling, at their wait staff. They show nothing to their employees, and they only care about money. They smile to you when you are there, and they call you American Stupid Devil behind you back. Believe me you, cause my friends told me so. I hereby call for a boycott for it to teach the owners a lesson. In US, we should NOT tolerate this! Let's go and punish the Boss for its uncivil behavior! Show some solidarity with the employees! The Boss even does some "tricky games" with the tips. This is not only Immoral, but also Illegal either. Someone should do something about this! read more

It was so bad I am making it a point to post on any site that ranks this restaurant. Ordered and after 20 minutes they asked us to repeat what we had ordered. Our slip only had the total. After another 10 minutes our food was ready. Now, on to the food. Deep-fried everything for items that normally are stir-fried. Chicken and cashew with deep-fried chicken. Peppers Steak and onions with deep fried tiny steak pieces that looked more like hamburger. The breading on the beef tasted like KFC breading. The Chicken and Broccoli was nice, but pretty tasteless. The Sweet and sour chicken was over the top greasy. On top of everything the prices were too high. $50 down the drain. We won't be back. read more

Here's the problem, I picked up my order for lunch and returned to work to realize the sushi I had ordered was not made correctly due to the woman taking my order wrong over the phone. I work across the street so I called to ask if they could run over the order but made correctly this time. She told me that there was a 15$ minimum and a 2$ delivery fee. I told her I can't leave again, I had already left work once to pick up the order and where I work we don't get to do that, just come and go. I said I'm literally across the street can you please just have some one run it over so I can eat the lunch I paid for?? She told me I didn't pay for what I was asking for, I paid for what I was given, I offered to make up the difference if they could run it over, she told me I'd have to order more to make the delivery minimum..WHAT?! As far as I knew when I walked out of there I had paid for what I had ordered and I was given what I ordered. Well we landed on a mutual decision to give me a credit. A credit that I was just denied. I told her she would lose my business and I spend close to 75$ every couple weeks there on their sushi. I even pay for a weeks worth so I can just pick it up quickly. She proceeded to tell me that I don't..ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Worst customer service ever! Be aware that these people do not care about what they serve,they care about money money money. If the customer isn't happy that's ok ,there's more where they came from kind of attitude. My job entails telling people where to eat,bet your bottom dollar I will NEVER have anything good to say about this "business" / money pit. read more

Visit the restaurant for dinner. We ordered kungbao chicken,. Beef and broccoli, vegetable lo main, and a sushi plate. Dishes are good, thought salty, particularly meat. Service is good, and decent ambience. read more

I posted a while ago and ti either never made it or was removed. I'd been going to this place for years and enjoyed the food. My last experience was horrible. The soup was a gelatinous mess and my entree, which was supposed to be veggie lo mein had a few slivers of carrot and not much else. when i complained i was told that they've always served the soup at the jello-like consistency i recieve (not true since i'd had it there many times and soup is supposes to be liquid). .. and further more no one else has ever complained about being served gelatinous soup. Thank goodness the spring roll was good .. ..What a really sad experience. .i used to love this place... won't be going back. .. like another diner said, they don't seem to really care about customer satisfaction.. read more

When you go to one of these hole in the wall Chinese restaurants your expectations are pretty low. This place failed to meet an already low bar by a mile, We searched and searched and were unable to find any chicken in the lo mein, or pork in the mu shu pork. A veggie dish ordered consisted of only two green beans and cheap cabbage. RIP OFF !! read more
