The reason i am giving 1star is their bad service and food quality. I ordered white chocolate mocha and instead of giving me first priority as i ordered first they made for other people and totally ignored me. When i noticed they are ignoring me..I went and asked the lady why it's taking time since everyone else is getting their order on time. They said they are busy that's why!! And bakery stuff was ok not that good!! I would never go again. Just stopped by for the first time to study and have some good coffee and hoped to have some good pastries. The selection of the pastries were good at 1:45 pm on Friday though they didn't have chocolate croissants I wanted to try.. Americano I ordered was very good! They use cafe Umbria. For a pastry I ended up with Kouign-amann and it was ok. The only negative thing I noticed was the unfriendliness of the staff. When I got to the counter, i was looking around the menu but the staff didn't explain at all until I finally found on the wall. I asked what she would recommend for a sweet pastry, she didn't pay attention first and then asked me several times on what I said. No smile on her face. Very disappointing since the bakeries I go in Seattle and Bellevue have staff who are very friendly, sometimes overly and that's part of the reason i go back. I hope it will change. read more

Made a day trip up to Everett and heard good things about this bakery so I decided to try it. Drove past it the first time because I didn't see the sign. Based on the pictures online, I thought there would be more to choose from however there wasn't. Got a croissant which was good, don't think you could mess up a croissant. Love this local bakery which features amazing savory and sweet items. I have been to this bakery couple of times now and really enjoy trying different things. The variety of both sweet & savory goodies is something you don't find in a lot of bakeries. I wish this place was closer to my place! I ordered the Ham & cheese croissant which was huge and fluffy. It was crispy on the outside yet moist and buttery on the inside. You can easily share one croissant and I ended up taking a few sweet items home. I always get the cannele here which is my favorite & also ended up trying the basque cake which was super delicious and paired great with coffee. No doubt I'll be back again to try other items on their menu. The breads are very tasty here & the owner and service is very homey and warm. read more

Meh, it's a cute shop I will say that. The cupcakes have way too much butter, I love a good cupcake but you shouldn't taste just the butter used in the cake and frosting. The cake was oozing oil and wasn't light or fluffy but it wasn't dense or crumbly either. It was just...butter. They look beautiful, the decorating leads you to believe they will blow you away but unfortunately they didn't. If you want to post a picture with cute baked goods this is probably a good place to hit up, they might have good coffee and whatnot but I just came for the deserts. Plenty of people were enjoying sitting outside the shop, it had a cute gentrified vibe going on which is interesting for that part of Everett LOL. I've been looking forward to trying this bakery since I found it online earlier this year. I stopped in this morning, and grabbed a few different items: a savory pastry, a bran muffin, a danish and twice baked almond croissant, plus a flavored OatMilk latte. They had plenty of COVID signage encouraging mask wearing and social distancing and a barrier between the cashier and client. Their assortment of pastries was varied and plentiful. Several muffins, macarons, giant cookies, loaves of bread, savory and sweet croissants, among other items. My take on the items we got: flavored latte - good but pretty standard. Will do the trick better and is slightly better quality than the 'bux, but it won't change your life. (And yes, before you ask, I have had coffee that changed my life.) The bran muffin was delightful, moist and had a nice twinge of sweetness inside and from the thin layer of fruit glaze on top. Probably one of the better bran muffins I've had. Now to the pastries: overall, the pastry was flaky, but tough, like it had been overworked. The savory swirl scone was ok - quite excessively greasy/buttery, a little over baked on the outside, but flavor was good. The danish - my son loved it, he ate it so fast that I didn't get a snip of it before it was gone. But he enjoyed it! The twice baked almond croissant, I was excited for. Almond croissants are one of my favorite things. When I pulled it out of the bag the first thing I noticed is the weight - HEAVY for what is typically supposed to be a fairly light flaky pastry, but that's not terrible, I was hungry so... I digress. I also noticed it had a dark amber finish, any longer and it would've been burnt. Definitely had a rustic look. Some almond filling had obviously spilled out while cooking and caramelized along the bottom edge of the pastry. The sliced toasted almonds were lovely and nutty. The filling, though tasty, there was SO MUCH of it. And I was really disappointed to find, that while the outer layer of pastry was nearly burnt, the inside layers were raw. I think this pastry could be amazing with a little refinement and a lower and slower oven time after initial blast of heat, so you can get that signature flaky and light pastry, typical of croissants. I'll definitely try this place again (I'd love to update and upgrade this review if merited!) when I'm in the area, but probably won't make a special trip for it. In conclusion: I want so desperately to love this place. But as of yet, it's just ok. Everyone deserves at least two tries, so I'll be back! I'm ready to be swayed! read more

I keep coming because it's the only game in town (my neighborhood). While the items are good, the wait times are always long, staff is not very friendly and they really should have two people working during peak hours (mornings, lunch). Also, every time I've come in and ordered a London Fog they're out of Earl Grey. It seems like they're always out of something (the girl in front of me ordered a drink and they were out of something for her as well). The daily breads are delicious, the macarons are tasty - I love a lot of the food here - but improve wait times, stock, and customer service. read more

This place an amazing and AUTHENTIC BAKERY! Everything they make is small batch and made lovingly in house. We absolutely love the cream cheese danishes (with fresh berries) or the gigantic twice baked almond croissants! Their quiches are always a yummy savory treat and we tend to grab a slice to share and pastry each! Some of the other reviews seem to complain about ordering experiences (and I can't speak to that since I often go during the morning on weekends or sometimes mid week).... so perhaps those weren't the best experiences but the quality of baked goods is very high! Also other complaints about running out of goods by end of day or running out of something by the afternoon makes me think those people have never gone to a real bakery before.... like seriously why would anyone over produce such a labor intensive product for the 1/20 person who strolls into a bakery 5 minutes before closing? Like maybe these people have never worked at a business or something? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt... Let's just say ChouxChoux is doing something right if they're selling out, so do something right for yourself and head in earlier when they open from their temporary closure and enjoy the kind of treat you likely can't make at home! read more

Drove in to this bakery from Stanwood for the daily loaf of bread for Monday. At 2:30 in the afternoon they did not have any. I was told they substituted Olive bread. Not what I wanted. I placed a special order with this business for pick-up the next day. They took my name and eta for the order. I left the bakery super excited for my special order. I showed up the next day and they didn't have my order. They didn't say they were still preparing it or that they'd be late. They just did not prepare my order. They apologized and offered to fill my order for tomorrow. How would I know if they'd have any intention on filling that order after not having my order today? Don't make any special orders here if you are counting on that order for a special occasion. They are not dependable. You're better off going somewhere else. If you go here, don't go with expectations because they often sell through their inventory pretty early in the day. They encourage you to call ahead so they can accommodate you, but they are not reliable. read more

I think they make the world's best cinnamon roll- it's not sickly sweet or swimming in a pool of frosting- you get enough sweetness from a light glaze of frosting and tons of bright citrus flavor- to die for!! I just discovered this place today. Everything I tried, f(our different pastries), were pretty good. However, the three star rating is based on the ludicrous prices for simple things. Their cookies won't such you back much, but at $4 for a croissant, and $5 for a baguette, this place is an affront to French bakeries, which it purports to be based on its name. Though croissants are involved to make, they are not difficult for anyone with baking experience. And baguettes are not only dead simple to make, but use very cheap ingredients (at least with croissants, one could claim to be charging a premium for using some sort of highly expensive butter, though no mention of such a thing is made in the bakery to justify their over the top prices). Having spent lots of time in France, I have long been searching for a good French bakery in the area. Alas, for now I will continue traveling to the Silver Lake area, where the best (and quite reasonably priced), bakery remains. read more

Amazing, unsuspecting bakery under an apartment complex in downtown Everett. This sliver of a bakery (really, it's an odd layout and can be difficult to order when busy) has an assortment of treats; sweet and not - ranging from breads (they bake a different one each day of the week - get the hippie wheat!) to cookies to breakfast sweets. You have to get the twice-baked almond croissant - it has a sweet, rich cream filling on the inside and a crisp outside. The cinnamon buns are decadent as well with a strong almond flavor baked in. Last time we went, we also got some type of sticky bun (?) that was light, fluffy and just sweet enough. The coffee I've gotten has always been just OK - last time I got a chai latte (soy) and it was a little sweet for me. Definitely recommend picking up a few pastries for work, house guests, or just yourself when you need a little sugar. read more

I had a wonderful conversation on the phone with who I now know as the baker about placing an order for a bridesmaid luncheon. She told me if I came in on Sunday to look at what they had to offer that was plenty of time. So the bride to be and I were excited and came in on Sunday 8.21. The gentleman working behind the counter was so bothered by our request. He said "what do you want" and when I attempted to explain that I had spoken with a nice lady on the phone about placing an order he audibly sighed and told me typically the baker does that, causing me to instantly feel awkward. I offered that I could call back maybe talk to the baker, I guess and he literally shook his head and rolled his eyes at another customer standing at the end of counter. I have tried several bakeries around Everett as I love baked treats. There are several good locations and they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but Choux Choux Bakery is hands down the best I have come across. Their puff pastry is legitimate full puff, composed of delicious shattering layers. I shared several different treats with my family and each was made well according to the guidelines of French patisserie. Any time I am in downtown Everett I am going to have to visit this spot. Ok, I see what people are talking about in regards to the service being unfriendly. But idgaf, the pastries are so good. We purchased the following: herbed goat cheese croissant, chocolate croissant twist, bran muffin, and two of these little balls of croissant dough rolled in sugar. I haven't tried the bran muffin yet, but everything else is soooo yummy. Highly recommend. For the above, it was $18.25 before tip. Service was unfriendly bordering on rude. This bakery makes the best sweets, but not the best coffee. I ordered an iced chai latte, and It just left me disappointed. They made a chai latte and threw in some chai tea bags. Literally had two tea bags floating in the latte. :/ The flavor and taste was over all bad. But on the other hand, their desserts are amazing! Big, crispy, and thin snickerdoodles, yum! I met a friend tonight at the bakery. What a delightful surprise of a warm place with great smells and delights for my eyes. I was very comfortable overall due to it being a welcoming vibe. They had so much variety. A lot were so huge I couldn't believe it. The girl behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable. She patiently went over all the yummy treats behind the glass. It was near dinner so I went savory and got a margarita pizza and croissant with pesto, cheese, and tomato. Both were out of this world yummy. It was too late for coffee but next time for sure. I can't actually believe I left without getting dessert. I was meeting for business so that must of been how. Before I left the owner came out and put on a album and mentioned she wished more people would put some music on due to her lack of time.
