We loved this place. Our server was charming and professional, the food was delicious! And the prices were reasonable.

One word: bacon. It is as phenomenal as they say. They source it locally and it sounded like almost daily, and same is true for their beef. We ordered the Mariota burger and it was great. You can choose different seasonings for your tots or fries (like truffle oil or Parmesan and garlic) which was a nice touch. They make all their own sauces and dressings except for ketchup, which makes it that much more fun. Service was friendly and helpful. The only drawback I have for the place is that the menu is only a little bit overwhelming--there are so many options for burgers which is great, but it took us awhile to decide! Maybe that's a good problem to have though, and we definitely chose well. Great semi-casual place to grab a burger or some Mac and cheese (they said that was supposed to be good also), or just order two full plates of bacon (because it's that good). You actually can get a pound of bacon as an appetizer. That is my only regret after dining here...I should have ordered more bacon. Will be dreaming about their bacon tonight. I truly believe you could order just about anything here and it would be so yummy. I do recommend the fried avos they were heavy, creamy, and totally shareable. I was in town on business and happily found Chow for a late lunch. The waitress was delightful and helped me decide which decadent burger to choose. Absolutely the most creative array of burgers I've ever seen and the most delicious burger I've ever eaten. Will definitely go back more while in town. This place was bizarre. Music on but a random "regular" customer playing the piano and singing over it. The chef doesn't "believe in ketchup" so forget getting that with your fries, tots or burgers. I will not return because this "gastropub" or otherwise known as a bar does NOT have ketchup or regular ranch! Are you kidding me!? This place is not much to look at, but if you can get past the bar atmosphere the food is pretty good. The chef does seem to have a heavy hand when it comes to using cumin, but again the food is well worth the trip. My go to is the yard bird, smothered and covered. Chicken in a tasty sauce, over argugala and crispy shoe string fries. They also have a monte cristo kind of sandwich that is messy but tasty. If you want to really let go, and can afford it, the wolverine will be right up your alley. More food than any one person could eat in one sitting. read more

This was hard to rate and I will say to at least give it a try. You can tell they put a lot of heart and thought into their food but I really had a hard time getting over the price. I got the chicken club with tots. The club had bacon that was carmelized with coke a cola, ham, arugula and they didn't skimp on the chicken breast but the chicken was cold even though the bread was grilled so it was a bit confusing. I remember I pickup the owner of this restaurant two or three times and he is always drunk. One time he made me insanely uncomfortable & I had to stop the ride midway through because he was telling me that I was going the wrong way and started to get violent with me so I had to end the ride as he made me feel extremely unsafe. Still a great place to eat. The Mac n cheese dishes are decadent. The do their own bacon in brown sugar. Today I had the "Ham and peas" max n cheese. It was awesome. I took a friend who had never been there before and she can't believe how good it is. The biggest decision is how to chose what to order. I'd first like to say... whatever that pimento cheese is, and wherever it came from.... NO thank you! :) That stuff has no business on a cheeseburger. But then again.... guys my size don't belong on road cycles either. I've only been here once (so far), but I plan to return at least twice more - given the foodstuffs I was curious about. This trip saw me take down the Mac & cheese bites, a burger with the aforementioned gross cheese on it, and some spinachy/veggie and rice dish. ALL were yummy and worth having again. The service here was spectacular, the interior was cozy and nice, the prices were fitting for the quality of food you get, and the flavor was begging of another visit. I saw at least two other items on the menu that I've got to try. I didn't know chow existed before this visit, nor how long they've been in business. But I was happy enough that I hope this business succeeds and opens more locations. It's clear they care about what they're doing here. read more

I've driven by this place so many times saying " I need to go there sometime ". I finally made it in! Love the casual pub atmosphere however if you want to have a conversation it is a little loud. My husband and I started with the mac & cheese balls. They were lightly beaded, cheesy goodness. We both felt that if we'd added a salad then that would have been a perfect meal. I ordered the PB&J burger. The flavorful burger wowed me! I never thought I'd like the combo of peanut butter, onion jam, bacon, and chips on a burger. I highly recommend it. My husband had the jambalaya that was not an ordinary jambalaya. This came with shrimp, crab, and their delicious bacon. There was more than enough left over to take home. Big food... But still with big flavor! Usually places like this that serve big portions and over the top selections like this end up sacrificing flavor and execution for novelty. Definitely not the case here. Really surprised that even when you get this ridiculous burger or even more ridiculous grilled cheesearoni craziness and everything on the plate comes perfectly prepared. The crunchy bits are crunchy the cheese is gooey the burger is juicy and quality and everything comes together really well. It's fun food and creative and really delicious. So on point! What a pleasant surprise. The menu was also very well explained and that extra attention to detail is a really nice touch. We all had a gnarly burger craving and were prepared to get down! Me and my boyfriend came to this restaurant during a 115 degree heat wave to get away from the sun. Once inside we were welcomed into the eatery by attentive staff that was helpful with helping us pick our beers and entrees. Both the "Bert n Ernie" and the "Ruthy Melt" were some of the best sliders and melts we have ever had. In addition to the food the establishment was very clean and we could actually see the kitchen staff work on our meals which was a plus. The menu was quite extensive with a lot of different options but I can say the two we chose were excellent. Would definitely come again not during a heat wave and enjoy one of their on tap bears on the deck. read more

Super nice staff. All burgers are EXTRA, as in sloppy with toppings. All are delicious though. Sometimes I get the plain burger so I can relish in a burger done right. I had the Fondue Stacker Burger and the wife had the PB&J. We both appreciated the variety of textures and flavors. That jalapeño fondue sauce was the bomb. The Parmesan tater tots were great. I got the BAB tonight and I really wanted to like it but I think that it's just to sickening sweet for my tastebuds. I thought some mustard might help balance it out, but adding a little definitely wasn't a good idea. I ordered a bacon burger last time and i felt the same way. I think the sugar bacon is good, but for my tastebuds, it's just too sweet for my liking. Wishing i would have tried the monte cristo. I ordered via Grubhub and the Mac and cheese item that was ordered was missing. I was hoping to give that a try, but maybe next time. I have been here twice now, while visiting a friend, and holy cow the food is amazing! Do yourself a favor and eat here. The bartender was great, attentive and helpful without being pushy. He was even willing to make a modified German chocolate cake shot for me without any guff. I have had two different burgers while here, the Big Mamma in a lettuce wrap and the B.a.B. in a lettuce wrap (due to being gluten intolerant). Both burgers were mouth watering and messy! Just the way I like my burgers. The loaded tots are definitely the way to go. Both times, the burgers were super filling and I had to take my tots to go, which was no problem. The bacon they serve is addicting. They have other times on their menu, like salads and fish and chips. But man o man, I could not eat here without having a tasty burger. read more

The burger on crack was insanely delicious (one of the best my husband has ever had), and the truffle fries were awesome. I had a pasta that was super rich and enough for 2 meals. The space was clean and cute with soft jazz music in the background. Love that they are open late (hard to find good food in Eugene/Springfield when you work until 10pm). 5 stars!
