I can't rave enough about Addi's Diner. It is always busy so expect to wait a little bit especially on the weekends. Addi is the friendliest diner owner around. All of the staff are amazing and I've never had a bad experience with customer service. Many staff are high school students. My son worked there and absolutely loved working for Addi. Many customers are regulars and many out of towners that hear word of mouth how great this place is. Prices are fair and you get ALOT of food. Everything tastes great. I have yet to have a dish that didn't taste good. Fresh and made to order. Very flavorful food. The pancake is huge as well as the cinnamon roll. 4 people could eat it and each would have a belly full. The vibe is cute inside and very cozy. I love to sit and look at the decor. Needed an early breakfast with my daughter, and a local sent me here. Cute little place, but really its all about the service. Addi herself waited on us and was super personable and sweet. I heard her across the cafe ask after a customer's new baby -- he hadn't been in for a year, she just remembered. A homeless guy came in and she listened to his rambling story attentively, then got him some food and sent him on his way. She's a gem. We were staying at the Tru by Hilton Eugene on Franklin, not far from the University of Oregon, and since we needed to pass through Springfield, we searched for something in that area. From our quick research, we knew it could get busy and that the space was fairly small. Sure enough, when we arrived around 10:00 a.m., the parking lot was nearly full--but we lucked out and found a spot. We expected a wait, but to our surprise, we were seated immediately at a cozy booth by the front window. The interior is a visual treat--entry covered in license plates, automobilia, sports memorabilia, and retro decor that gives off a fun 50s-60s vibe. There's something interesting to look at in every direction. We even noticed a few nods to the Atlanta Braves, which sparked some conversation. The menu had a great selection of breakfast items, and we were greeted by the owner herself, who shared that she's been running the diner for about 19 years. She also mentioned that you can call ahead to get on the waitlist--good to know for next time! My wife ordered the "Train Wreck," (diced ham & scrambled eggs with veggies, topped with melted cheddar on a pile of homefries smothered in gravy, choice of toast, muffin or a pitiful lookin' biscuit) and I went with the "Whatchamacallit" (ham & Swiss cheese sandwich dipped in egg batter and grilled, served with homefries, skins or hashbrowns). Ended up n Eugene for a short trip and wanted breakfast not from typical fast food places. Hotel clerk suggested Addi's Diner. The diner is small as well as parking, but when the place is packed and there's a waiting list to have breakfast it's always a good sign! I have one kid with a big appetite and one that doesn't eat much. Both kids chose a pancake dish of some kind and both took almost their whole plate to go because it was so much food! Even after sharing with their dad! Addi herself was super nice. I had to ask about the burned hats on the ceiling and she even packaged up some syrup to go for the leftover pancakes and asked if we needed plastic cutlery. Lots of choices, including unusual selections like "Whatchamacallit" which is a ham and cheese sandwich dipped in egg batter and grilled. I had the more traditional 3-egg sausage and cheese omelette, which was amazing. Turns out the owner was the one that seated us and she noted she has owned this diner for 47 years. One of her cooks has been here 18 years. Novelynn was our server and she was engaging, helpful, and very attentive. I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by this woman's behavior. If you don't believe me, just look at the comments from others who have also experienced her rudeness. She continues to argue with customers on Yelp, which is so unprofessional! i.e. Verbatim from Addi, the owner replying back to a customer: "Thanks for taking the time to give us this shitty review Travis! I won't apologize for your stupidity!" What kind of restaurant owner speaks to customers like this? On the morning of May 2, 2025, my sister and I had breakfast at her restaurant. My sister had a few questions about our bill that needed clarification, and Addi spoke to us in the most condescending voice before walking away, completely ignoring that we needed to pay. When a really sweet waitress overheard us discussing Addi's inappropriate behavior, she kindly offered to comp our meals. This caught Addi's attention, and she charged towards us, her face red with anger like a bull! She screamed, "Oh no! You're not leaving here without paying your bill!" in front of everyone in the restaurant. Feeling frustrated with Addi's nasty attitude, my sister decided to walk out the door. Addi yelled, "You're dining and dashing," even though that wouldn't have been the case, as the waitress was comping our meals due to Addi's behavior. Despite Addi making a scene in her own restaurant, I calmly handed her my card and asked why she was causing such a fuss. She accused me of dining and dashing, even though I was literally offering my credit card. I explained that throughout this entire interaction, I had been nothing but kind and calm, while she was yelling and being condescending and rude. After processing my credit card, Addi shouted my name aloud for everyone in the restaurant to hear and yelled, "I'll remember that name!" It was completely inappropriate. Honestly, I wouldn't give her the pleasure of saying my name ever again. Your business clearly needed those $50 more than I ever will. To the waitress, I tipped despite Addi's nasty attitude, and to the rest of the staff reading this review, I'm sorry you have to work with such an awful human. **History of Rudeness by Addi from Other Customers:** *The owner I assume because her name is "Addie" was completely rude and not understanding of two single moms having two toddlers to look after. She once even said that this is a restaurant and not a zoo. Came here for breakfast on a Friday. The service was exceptional and super sweet with our 4 year old. The pancake is HUGE! Also the hashbrowns and bacon were cooked to perfection. They also made my over medium eggs correctly where the whites were cooked but the yolk wasn't. That was a big deal to me. Our son and his wife really wanted to take us here. Glad they did because one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time. Everyone got something different that we thoroughly enjoyed. I got two perfectly cooked eggs over easy with four sausage links, hash browns, and biscuit and gravy. My wife loved her corned beef hash. My son enjoyed the chili with scrambled eggs, his wife had the breakfast chimi. They all got potato skins with their meal. Really good dipped in gravy. The atmosphere of this diner is top notch. It feels like you're in a 50s diner with memorabilia throughout. It's small, so I imagine there may be times that you should expect a wait. We dined for a weekday breakfast and were sat right away. I had browsed the menu on Yelp beforehand, but be sure you're looking at the one with the most recent prices, as I did not. The food was average, typical diner breakfast, so I would probably recommend visiting for the vibe, rather than just for the food. Be aware that if you need the restroom you have to go outside and enter a back hallway to get to a very small space to do your business. Fine for a single person, but if you had a child it would be cramped. My husband highly recommends the potato skin sides for your breakfast potatoes, as they were something unique and tasty! read more

I am so glad we found this place. It's a destination restaurant for me now. I had chicken fried steak with 'skins' the first time we went. Skins are like deeply peeled potatoes and fried. They are so yummy. The chicken fried steak was great! Eggs were cooked perfect. Second time we went, I got Corned Beef Hash and a small pancake. Not to be confused with their MEGA PANCAKE.
