Sweet & Spicy Mushroom Burger. Normally comes with fries, but I opted for a side salad (not shown) instead.

Was a Sunday afternoon for lunch, so keep that in mind. Great food (and you best bring a healthy appetite, because there's plenty of it), classy place, fairly dim with good but not overpowering music. AMAZING service from Allison. Would make a great place for a date night! NOTE: Listed hours for Sunday are a bit off. "noonish to 10-ish PM"

Really tasty burger and tots! The place is inviting and friendly staff. Almost a little overly intrusive if you want a quite dinner, but honestly, it's more of a "here everyone knows your name" feel type of place. I can't remember the burger I got, but my friend got the one with peanut butter. We both really felt like they were huge, and quality. We both agreed that there was too much cumin in the onion jam. We will probably ask for that on the side next time as it was a little over powering. The truffle tots were perfectly crisp! Next time we come we will share because portions are gigantic. Yumm! We'll be back!

    Bacon Cheese Burger on Crack

Managed to get back to Chow a year later. Burgers are still phenomenal. Had the PB&J and the Bacon Cheeseburger on Crack. This place is well worth the stop.

Great burgers, nice staff, reasonably priced drinks from a full bar! We loved the truffle seasoning on the tots!!

    Challenge excepted

My wife and I just ate here on our date night and I thought it was review worthy. The food was delicious. The slow cook there bacon in a brown sugar glaze that turns it into some sort of all American candy. She had a burger with mushrooms in it and loved it. We also got appetizers-the blue cheese fries which had an awesome cheddar cheese sauce and bits of that bacon candy and- deepfried avacodos that were pretty good too. I got the wolverine#5 burger and it was awesome but HUGE! Probably would have taken a lot of it home but the owner apparently has a challenge where he has anyone who can finish it sign his bar with a sharpie soooo. Yeah I apparently had a 4lb dinner tonight, can't pass up a challenge like that. Must stop for anyone who's hungry trust me!!!

Chelsea MAC and Cheese with Shrimp! HOLY CHOW!!!!!!!!!! My God, my mouth had a food orgasm. I'm not one to do Yelp reviews BUT this place and this dish was so effin deserving of my review! I was passing by after a long day of driving and Chows was the only place open. They sat me down 15 minutes before the last call and the waiter still took his time to explain the daily specials and I never felt rushed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and if you live here then I'm jealous that you have a hidden gem!

The food was fine. Not super, but not bad. Huge portions though, so a decent price for the amount.

Not too noisy for a tavern, full selection of beer and wine. Burger came out just the way I like it, medium rare and the fries were nice and crisp. I will be stopping back here on my way back to CA.

We've been coming here for years, but our recent visits have been really disappointing due to major…read moremenu and quality changes. Last time we came for brunch, we noticed the eggs Benedict no longer has the amazing Parmesan-crusted potatoes. The hollandaise is still decent and the focaccia bread is great, but losing that crispy crust was a big bummer. Today's visit for our usual wings and nachos was even more frustrating. First, they no longer offer ground beef for the nachos. We were told we could substitute steak, but that literally doubles the price of the dish. We opted for chicken instead, which was a steep $7 extra for maybe two ounces of meat. When the nachos arrived, they looked like low-effort, homemade oven nachos with just melted cheddar on top. The whole thing was fused together into one giant sheet of chips; we had to break it apart and manually pile the toppings back onto the chips ourselves. It was really weird. The biggest letdown, though, was the wings. It used to be a solid order of six traditional flats and drums. Today, we paid $14 for just four pieces, and they weren't even wings--they were frenched chicken thighs. Subbing a completely different, lower-quality cut of meat without telling the customer is false advertising, and they turned out dry. Plus, the sauce has changed from a traditional Frank's-style buffalo to a harsh cayenne sauce. Between the wings and the nachos, today's total came out to $34--and $40 with a tip. Paying premium prices for dry thigh meat, overpriced add-ons, and a block of fused-together nachos makes it really hard to justify coming back. I'm not sure if North Fork got bought out or what, but I really don't see a point in returning.

However we tried to go a couple times during the remodel, and it seemed like it was always being pushed back. In fact, I told my husband if they weren't open now, I was never coming back, as I was tired of trying to find plan b for dinner when they were closed. I'm glad we found them to be open today. We went in around 6-ish in the evening. There weren't very many people in there and we were greeted immediately, which was fine. We wandered around, as there are two sides to the restaurant. It's not terribly exciting in terms of decorations. It doesn't lend itself to the Simpson's reference of Moe's Tavern. Which would be the precise reason my husband wanted to go in here, and made a reference to it when he checked in on Facebook. Our waitress was Chelsea, and she was such a sweetheart. My one annoyance was the menu is incredibly small print, and very hard to read. I need to remember to bring my glasses the next time I come in. I ended up with a headache due to trying to read the menu without much success. Luckily, the chef, Ted, let me use his. Which helped significantly, and I was finally able to pick something I actually wanted off the menu, instead of a basic burger. We started with the zucchini fries, which were delicious. I loved the breading on them. It was solid, and didn't fall apart. My husband wants to try the hellfries the next time we go in. I had the mushroom burger and my husband had the fondue stacker. I had tater tots and my husband had fries and we had garlic and Parmesan added to both. My husband loved his burger, and I definitely enjoyed mine. Both were ordered medium rare, and it was a gorgeous bright red in the middle. One of the things I love is they buy their meat from Bright Oak Meats, which is a local butcher shop, just a few blocks from the bar. I love supporting a small local business that works exclusively with other small local businesses. Perfect combination, if you ask me. This also enables us to order our burgers cooked to any temperature we want. I absolutely despise when I have to have a burger done to anything past medium rare. Here, medium rare is their standard, Which they tell you when ordering. I would definitely recommend stopping in here. It's very meat-heavy, like burgers with copious amounts of bacon. If you love your bacon, this is THE perfect place for you! My husband was wearing his "I love bacon" shirt when we went in, not knowing just how appropriate it was. Lol. I was thrilled I found a cute local business to get behind, that supports other well-known local businesses and makes the perfect medium-rare burger. I am sooooo glad that I ignored all the negative reviews from this place. It's definitely a go-to now for my husband and I! Review 86 of 2017.

It's less than 1% of the places I visit that are true beer clean glassware astute. There are many that do a good job, but when you see the lacing on glassware that I saw tonight, you know you're in rarified air. FOOD: ok I know most people don't need out over glassware the way I do so let's discuss the food - I went more unique with a lamb sausage and a boar sausage, plus my new friends next to me shared their fries. My opinion? Awesome. Well executed sausage, the fries were really good - crisp on the outside and still perfect potato texture inside while being hot with a fry sauce side that perfectly complemented Service was great, met regulars, had tasty food - but the whale in this adventure was the care for the glassware. This is special - the owner truly cares about your experience when they nail the small details a lot of folks miss. I didn't miss this detail because it's massive in the nuance on your beer but takes special care and pride to get right. Bangers takes pride in giving you a beer in a properly maintained glass, and that's uniquely special. Applause to Bangers for attention to detail!
