I've always in this area, but never thought about eating at Chow Town until the other day. The outside of the building is nice, but the inside could use a remodeling. The fried rice was ok, but it looks like steamed rice. Most of the food I'd enjoyed, but they didn't have any info on what you're eating including the sushi which I would like to have known what dish I was eating. That also could be a problem if you're a vegetarian. Customer service was nice, but the buffet is a little pricey and that was doing the lunch hours.

Oh Yelp! Chow Town is on point today. Bae and I, went to lunch today. He loves Chinese and is a Chow town regular. Me, not so much. But Today! Y'all fresh and good. Let's start with the dining space, CLEAN! I like this. Keep it up. Our server, sweet and attentive. No, I didn't catch her name. Thanks for your good service, though. Food, I don't know what Bae got, he got everything he got. But, I got Lo mein with black pepper chicken, mushroom chicken, chicken and broccoli and honey chicken on top in a circle. I got a soup bowl of fried rice with brown gravy on top with green beans, hot and regular wings with a side of salmon. Delish! Then I had fruit! This stuff here good. It's not as warm as I like, so I grabbed one star. But, Y'all already know, I'll be back.

Sooo gooddI literally have my mouth drawn to this plate. And the service is great as always.

I would say it is what it is. Your standard "Chinese" buffet. VERY anglicized Chinese food. Fair price. Fairly clean place. Probably good for kids. For me the sushi was not cold enough. Hibachi had cross contamination of the meats. Skipped that. Hot and sour had a gravy flavor, which was odd. Beef and broccoli was about all I ate with steamed rice. And the grilled chicken on a stick. Fried rice was not fried at all. Ambience wise it's a cute place. Unfortunately they pack everyone sitting right next to each other, for no reason. Plastic forks for eating. Let's just say the couldn't hold up to the broccoli. In closing. Food was warm. Generally Asian in nature lol. Not great but you could eat a lot for $10...

It's kind of hard to tell what all the food options are, so I had to ask what some stuff was. I managed to get a meat and 2 instead of a meat and 5! There were quite a few veggie options that looked amazingly delicious! I do not recommend coming here hungry or hangry. Ok, sooo I love meat loaf so naturally that's what I got. I also got collards and cornbread dressing & yes they had cranberry sauce. Everything was good tasting. The meatloaf was a little sweet to my taste so I probably wouldn't order it again. The veggies were not over seasoned or overcooked. I will definitely comeback here bc there is still just so much I wanna try. The staff is nice and took care of the crowd. I even witnessed them give a person in need food, as they were about to dig in the restaurant's garbage can outside for scraps. Made me count my blessings.. all of them! There is street parking only. I didn't have any issues parking on a Sunday afternoon. The inside of this restaurant is not big but I was comfortable dining in.

Only about 3 people at a time can hold inside before it's starts getting crowded. It stay pretty busy. Options are 1 meat with two sides or 2 meats with three sides combination. A la cart is available as well. They have ice tea or lemonade drinks in a cup that they also serve you. Lemonade was good. There's a very small counter to pay after you order. Fry chicken is tasty with perfect crisp. Collard greens were seasoned well and perfect texture. Yams (my favorite) was perfect - flavorful, not too sweet and firm but not hard. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered. One in our group commented the meat loaf was good. The dressing was really good too - well seasoned and tasty. After paying there's a dining area for self seating. It serves the purpose to sit and eat but definitely could use sprucing up along with the restrooms. Please seriously consider! It would make the experience much more pleasant to enjoy their delicious food. I took off two stars for that reason and yes it's that unpleasant as the tables/chairs are also too clustered together. The chairs don't fit around the table properly. Overall good southern food at a reasonable price and recommended. Skip dining in if you don't have too. Just my two cents.

With all the trash talk about them, much of the world has a special affinity for these establishments nonetheless, whether it's a grand Las Vegas buffet brunch, an extravagant all you can eat feast in Dubai or a place like the King Buffet in Pelham, a countryside low cost, high volume spot to feed the masses of the blue collar class. King Buffet opened in 2023 in a space formerly occupied by Golden Corral. It's pleasantly renovated and as clean as an establishment can be for a buffet concept. There are all the classics here and a few nice extras, like crab. The seafood at King Buffet is plentiful, but to be fair, not particularly good. The crawfish are somehow extremely tasteless, not because they are not spiced, but they just don't taste like crawfish. That's something I've never encountered before. The coconut shrimp is subpar. Mongolian beef is very loosely reminiscent of beef. With that said, all the dishes are not bad either, they are just not great. Where King Buffet shines is the service, with extremely attentive wait staff and superb cleanliness that results from that. As a whole, it does justice to this category of food and there is absolutely no reason to pass by if craving a buffet style meal.

I initially visited as part of an assignment, but after this experience, I will definitely be back. The dining hall serves students and campus facilities and is a convenient, well-organized option for lunch on campus. Before visiting, I reviewed the lunch menu online, which made the experience even smoother because I knew exactly what to expect. I chose The Den and ordered a chipotle bacon cheeseburger all the way with no bun, LOL and French fries, and it did not disappoint. The burger was hot, flavorful, and well-prepared, and the fries were crispy and fresh a classic meal done right that never fails. The atmosphere was clean and efficient, and everything moved quickly, which is great when you're on a lunch break or between classes. Overall, Common on the Green exceeded my expectations for a campus dining hall. What started as a required visit turned into a place I'd happily return to again.

Unfortunately, the food at the Commons does not provide quality, reliable food, and usually leaves me disappointed. As someone who has been eating at the Commons for many years, my friends and I often joke about how the Commons will disappoint us tonight, a feeling that resonates across much of the student body. In addition to this, eating at the Commons with dietary restrictions often leaves much to be desired, for example, tonight, when I ate at the only bluntly stated vegetarian option was a tofu with vegetables that had been wilted to the point of being inedible. As a result, I often find myself eating exclusively at the salad bar, like I did tonight. On a positive note, the Commons does a great job at consistently stocking its salad bar and keeping it relatively clean. For items that can become unsanitary quickly, the Commons employees are vigilant in keeping the salad bar clean for students. The staff is all extremely kind, especially Ms. Robin, who works at the front checking students into The Commons. She remembers my name and always greets every student with a smile. The staff, in general, adds a lot of value to the Commons and makes the Commons an enjoyable experience. Specifically, tonight, they were hosting a karaoke night, which I personally found to be a bit overstimulating. It was difficult to have conversations with my friends and talk at a reasonable volume. While I do not frequent the Commons often, I hope that this was a one-time event, as I do enjoy going for dinner occasionally, but I don't really enjoy listening to karaoke while eating my salad bar. Overall, in terms of a campus dining hall, I think that there are better options on campus, but they do provide students with the nutritious ingredients they need to be functional and successful in classes, especially freshmen who do not have access to a kitchen. As someone with a kitchen, I find myself choosing other options on campus when given the choice, but I do find myself craving a salad bar and French fries every so often.
