Ordered Shanghai Lumpia and a Salt and Pepper Pork. The Shanghai Lumpia was semi-crunchy but good. Salt and Pepper were small pieces but tender and good flavor. I've ordered chicken soup, lumpia, and tocino breakfast, all good. Last time I came the tocino was no longer on the menu, which is a shame because it was good. I would still come back for the other items I mentioned when I have the craving. The service has been good in my experience, easy to order and the food comes out pretty quick. It's in the bustling "Seafood City" Asian market and it and the rest of the market have always been busy every time I've been there. If something on their menu looks good to you, I recommend you try it - it's a solid spot. read more

I recently stopped here to grab a quick lunch. It's a huge parking lot since it's a Seafood City and other Filipino bakeries and restaurants. The two entree lauriat meal is a pretty good deal! You get a lot of food for about $13. The meal comes with white rice, pancit canton, one piece of buchi, two large pieces of fried chicken, and a second entree of your choice. Service was very friendly and very quick! There is plenty of seating here. The food didn't come with any condiments. So the lumpiang could have been better if it came with sauce. The white rice was also dry/not fresh. The rest of the food was much better! I liked the walnut shrimp and fried chicken. They both were very crispy and tasted freshly cooked. The pancit was hit or miss. One portion was only noodles. The other box had some veggies with the pancit. It was very quick and affordable. We came here for the steamed bun...the receipt said it's the asada siopao. their banners outside peeked hubby's attention. I love me some Chowking. The steam buns are always so delicious and the rice bowl is a great grab and go thing for lunch. I also, really enjoy the wonton noodle bowl too. The customer service has always been super nice and friendly. I love that I can grab some of my favorite sweet treats from the Philippines here as well. Not the best, not the worst. Price point is good but the food quality is just okay. I got the combo silog (breakfast) with tocino and longanisa. The longanisa was a no for me. Not juicy, not sweet, and it just tasted like kielbasa to me. The tocino was pretty good though, fatty enough and fairly tender, with a good sweetness. It comes with some garlic rice, which was pretty good, and a hella overcooked egg -_- They offered some vinegar on the side, which paired well with the tocino. For about $11, this wasn't the worst breakfast but I'd just stick with tocino next time. My BD got the combo plate with salt and pepper pork, and the default fried chicken it comes with. You can opt for mild or spicy so that's cool, and they have several entree to pair with (sweet and sour pork, popcorn chicken, broccoli beef, etc). This comes with a scoop of pancit and steamed rice and 1 little sesame ball. The S&P pork was just too battered for me, and the fried chicken was a bit over fried as well. The chicken thigh was juicy with super crunchy skin, went great with the vinegar dip, but the drumstick was hella dry. Add on a soda for about 50 cents. We got a side order of popcorn chicken and my daughter loved it. TBH we would come back, just for that. They do have a spicy option so I'd like to try it but I didn't love that this comes with zero dipping sauces.. some sweet chili sauce would be nice. This is a no frills spot to grab some food. Portions are good, and it's affordable. Slight wait, but nothing crazy, so you can get your day going within a reasonable amount of time. Very good food with plenty of selections. Love their siopao, their chao fan, taho, siomai and their noodle soups.

We decided to try their Bundle Feast 3 due to their 2024 Labor Day promotion/deal ($5 off). The feast comes with 24 pieces of Siomai and 1 Small Pancit Canton Platter. This is advertised to serves 4-6 people, and I would have to say that estimate is pretty accurate. The Siomai was tasty but more on a smaller side, and it had a prominent white-pepper flavor which I really liked. The pancit reminded me of Indonesian-style fried noodles even down to the toppings - cabbage, eggs, and sliced fishballs. It was tasty but I wasn't sure of I liked it just because it was a similar taste to what I grew up with in Indonesia. But I would say the noodles were a tad overcooked and thus were a bit too soft for my preference. Staff were super nice and friendly when I picked up my order at the store. The service is not friendly. They also refuse to fix their bathrooms so you have to jump through hoops to find the bathroom somewhere in the grocery. The workers are stingy on the napkins, sauce, and utensils. Ugh. So excited in the beginning. Trying to eat "healthier" so when I tried Chowking's take on a tofu dessert, I was looking forward to a guilt-free dessert. Taho is silken tofu with a brown sugar syrup and boba (aka tapioca) pearls. First, the good. It was a generous portion. I think it was in a 16 oz. deli container. Also, it was served nice and warm. But now, the not so good. The syrup was watery. The tofu tasted chalky and the boba pearls were overcooked and too soft. Now I don't know if the quality suffered because it was 5:00 pm on a Thursday and the ingredients for the dish had sat out all day. I may try again on a Saturday during lunch when there is more turnover. read more

Gotta write up a review real quick to warn others to stay away from the salt and pepper pork. It is garbage! A whole lot of batter and grease and barely any taste of pork. Decided to give it a try and regret wasting $10. The sessame ball that came with the entree was the only saving grace. Service kinda sucks as the kid does not wave or say anything to aknowledge customers so you are left standing therejust waiting until either you or he says something. I have tried the bao with the shreded mest and that was decent. The bao was soft and a little firm. A little soggy for my preference. Would come back to try the chicken bao or wonton noodles. For now the only get 2 stars 'cause the salt and pepper pork makes me feel greasy and nasty. read more

Today my husband and I ordered a tai tea from Chow King and ate food which we bought from Grill City. We thought it was okay because we ordered a drink and the there were barely any customers maybe one or two set of customers sitting.it was pretty quiet except for the music playing. We kept getting looks glares and my husband said the employees said some rude remarks about us in Filipino or Tagalog. Usually I really like Chow King because liked i said i like the rai tea halo halo and the empandas but that was soo rude. I don't think that I want to go back there even though I love the tai tea..we will see. read more

Went to the Concord one 9/20/2024 for breakfast. Ordered the longanisa, tocino, egg, fried rice combo, with coffee. I opened the styrofoam container and saw the tiniest fried egg I ever saw in my life! You can't buy eggs this small in any grocery! Why is this done at this establishment? Also, the coffee was room temperature! I wanted to complain, but I didn't want to make a scene. There is also a restroom that they refuse have customers use!
