Wonderful meal!! The three of us shared the standard Kalbijjim with cheese, spicy cold noodle, and seafood pancake. Everything was delicious! Especially loved the seafood pancake -- so crispy and flavorful! Kalbijjim portion was large for 3 (we had leftovers) but the meat was so tender. Loved the cheese and corn in it as well. Banchan was tasty. The ambiance was nice and service was excellent. Would definitely return for an occasion meal!

This time we went with four of us so we could order a few things. We had the spicy cold noodles, the dolsot bibimbap, and the mini kalbi jjim. The mini was the key. The regular order is huge! The cold noodles were good, but the dolsot bibimbap was excellent - crispy rice was great.

Food is good. Service sucks, slow and unorganized. Appetizers came out last, got a dished placed on our table and then they took it back and then brought it back again. Lack in checking back up on tables. Would be more than 3 stars but service isn't the best. Foods good tho

I stopped by for a solo lunch to finally try the famous Kalbijjim everyone's been raving about. During weekday lunch hours, they offer a special mini Kalbijjim, which turned out to be a generous portion. It could be enough for two people! On this random weekday visit, the restaurant wasn't too busy, and the servers were attentive, frequently checking on people. When the banchan arrived, the server let me know what banchan they had for the day which was nice. Their chive kimchi was my favorite! They also offered both tea and water, and the server happily provided both when I asked. I ordered the mini Kalbijjim with cheese, which they blow-torched right at my table. The dish was flavorful, and the beef and other ingredients absorbed the sauce well. That said, I was hoping the beef would be more consistently tender; some pieces were perfect, while others were a bit tough. Overall, the service was excellent. They even packed my leftovers for me. The food was very good, though a bit more tenderness would have made it perfect.

Visited Daeho in Concord for lunch with friends. My second time here and it did not disappoint. Went on a Tuesday and were seated right away for a fairly large group. The food we ordered was full of flavor. The beef tartare paired with the apple pear, so good! Don't knock it till you try it lol. The corn cheese with steamed eggs, I can eat that all day. The star players of lunch were the kko galj jim combination and the modeum suyuk. Every bite was packed with flavor in a melt in your mouth kind of way. The meat was so tender that you could pull it apart with just a fork. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer and will be trying everything on the menu. Plenty of parking and places to shop to burn off that full stomach haha. Highly recommend Daeho! Service was great!

I came here one day completely out of the blue, not knowing what to expect, mostly because my son recommended it. I'll be honest, I didn't think I was a big fan of Korean food, or at least I thought I wasn't. That completely changed after this visit. I was hooked from the very first bite. I ordered the short rib galbijjim, and the flavors absolutely exploded in my mouth. It was so savory and flavorful that I couldn't get enough. I loved it so much that I ordered it again the very next day. I even got my colleagues hooked, and we've gone back several times for lunch. The dish is served family style, which is perfect for sharing. You can easily adjust the spice level to your liking, and it comes with rice, about three orders of rice per dish. Everything is just really, really good. The restaurant itself is spacious, the service is fast and friendly, and there's plenty of parking outside. Overall, this place is a solid 10 out of 10. Amazing food and an experience I keep coming back for.

If you're looking for tofu soup, this place ain't for you. Instead, they're focus on extravagant sizzling platters and over the top stew. The place does get packed on weekends but lot of happy people enjoying dinner. Located inside the Willow Pass shopping center, parking may be challenging in the front during peak hours, but usually plenty in the back. For apps, start with the beef carpaccio. Unique taste because it was pears with Korean pears (or some type of sweet pear). If you have a few people, try their sizzling platter (Galbijjim). The Galbijjim will cost $75+ depending if you want extra cheese, rice cakes or other stuff added to it. the platter is enough for two to three to share as they also include rice. Very flavorful and the beef was tender. For the stew, the most popular is their traditional bone broth. On a cold winter day, this is pure comfort food. Soup had a light mild taste that just goes well with the meat and vegetables in the pot. The had six side dishes were decent but I'm use to seeing more small dishes and wish they had fish cake and pickled cucumber. The wait staff here are friendly and attentive making sure our teapot was filled.

First time trying this location! So glad they have it in Concord! Located in a shopping mall, close to other restaurants, lots of parking. Can be busy since it is near Ranch Market 99, but we didn't have a wait. The food was amazing, and we had to get the Daeho Kalbijjim with the added cheese topping that they use a torch at your table to melt the cheese! We ordered the Japchae and the Seafood Pancake, it comes with a sauce, so delicious! The Banchan (sides) were also delicious, loved that each tasted different, sometimes you can't tell each side dish flavor but here you do. We went to a location in the South Bay, so we were so excited that there was a Concord location! If you want good comfort Korean food, eat here!! We will be back!

Holy moly, maybe I was just really hungry on this day, or maybe it was really cold, but I wanted something hot and soupy. I stumbled upon this place while walking around. Walked in during lunch hour on a Tuesday. No many people inside, but it was nicely decorated. Wish there were some booths and more partitions. They had a lunch special of sundubu with all the banchan. Ordered up the mushroom version and waited about 10 minutes. Came out hot and so inviting. They told me they had cracked an egg in it, but I wish they do it table side so I can watch in fascination as it gets cooked in the boil. Had a taste and whoa! Probably some of the best tofu soup I've had outside of LA. Wowsers. So flavorful, tons of ingredients, and it was the perfect amount to fill me up and prepare myself for an afternoon of pivot tables and line charts. At $20 with tax and tip, this was a great sit down deal. A++ would recommend.

The kalbijim is always a favorite, super tender meat in a really richa and sweet sauce. The carrots are always really good too. The side dishes are really good as well. Ambience is nice inside, spacious and can get busy on weekends. The service is good and wait staff is attentive. This is a good dinner spot to family style.

The lines here get crazy, so if you can, try to add yourself to the waitlist ASAP! I'm so glad this location so open so we could avoid the more distant locations In the bay. We've been to this location a few times already but I'm convinced the best time to go is during lunch on a weekday (duh)! I love that now they have lunch specials in addition to the regular menu. We tried the king tonkatsu, which is super huge! The pork is juicy, crunchy and flavorful. The sauce is more savory than sweet but they don't offer any curry-like sauces. I'm a sucker for the kalbijjim either cheese torched on top and the galbi tang. The galbi tang just feels like a hug in a bowl. The soup is very rich and just so good with a side of purple rice. The place is super busy but never have I felt like I wasn't attended to. There's plenty of seating and bathrooms are well maintained! Definitely a must for Korean food craving!

It was my first time here. The interior looked very modern and stylish. We ordered Yuk Hwe, Kalbi Tteokbokki, Daeho Kalbijjim with oxtails, glass noodles, extra rice cakes, mozzarella cheese, boiled egg, and corn. We also order a bottle of Green Grape Soju, an orange slushy, and some soda. The food was amazing. I really enjoyed the Yuk Hwe and getting friends to try it for the first time. The Kalbi Tteokbokki was a nice little appetizer with the soft and chewy rice cakes. The Daeho Kalbijjim was huge. It had a mountain of mozzarella covering all the yummy goodness underneath it. I loved the fact that our server melted the cheese at our table with a torch. Everything about that dish made my tastebuds happy. The staff were really attentive and polite. We were all stuffed and satisfied with our meal. I definitely want to go back and try some more dishes.

Do they have the little side dishes like kimchi that come with the meal?

Yes. You definitely don't get the spread of Ban Chan (little dishes) as you would at other Korean Restaurants. They do have Kim Chi, Chinese Chives, pickled Jalapeño and Onions and I think a potato, turnip or daikon one.

I didn't hate it and it paired well with the sauce of the braised beef :) Signature spicy wonton: 9/10, different for sure. I was expected more chili chucks but the oil itself was different from what I've had before. Love that they packed the wontons and oil separate for me to pair at home. The small flat noodles were a bit thicker than I would have liked and the soup needed a little more flavor. The chili oil wonton were saltier than I would've liked but the dough had a good consistency. The soup dumplings were ok. 1 braised pork dumpling had a much stronger star anise flavor which was overbearing while the other was perfect. I was actually hoping for the pita part to be more like the style that has crispy layers but it was filling. The chili oil flat noodles were OK. Overall, I've had better hand pulled noodles and I prefer beef broth soup that has a more richer flavor.

I've heard of Yi Ji Chang Fen but only tried it today. I've eaten so much dim sum in my lifetime, so my standard for dim sum may be higher. We came around 5PM on a Saturday and there wasn't anyone really there. It could be because dim sum feels more like a morning or lunch thing, or it could just be because we were there for a very early dinner. Between our party, we shared: - Marinated Chicken and Mushroom Rice Roll - Stuffed Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf - Steamed Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce - Black Gold Egg Custard Buns - Chicken Feet with Herbs - Dry Style Beef Chow Fun And one Honey Lemon Tea for me. The honey lemon tea was a comfort for the cold day. Maybe a bit too much honey, but still good for the throat during the dry season. The chow fun came first and surprisingly it was not bad. There was a bit of 'wok hey' there and it stands out as one of the better dishes we had. As for the rice roll - I wanted to try something less conventional and I've never seen chicken in rice rolls, so I thought it would be interesting to try. It was quite disappointing though. Their rice roll was bigger than normal in width so with rice rolls being a struggle to pick up already, the bigger size made it an even bigger struggle. Everything just slipped out of the rice roll and it wasn't evenly wrapped. There were some bunched up layers on the edges. I think the chicken just didn't pair that well either and it was lacking in ingredients. Maybe the more conventional rice rolls would be better. For the two types of chicken feet, I normally like the one in herbal soup. If made well, the chicken feet has a nice flavor to it. For Yi Fen's herbal chicken feet, their portion was pretty good, but flavor was less prominent. I enjoyed the chicken feet in black bean sauce more because the flavor was better. Lastly, for the stuffed sticky rice and black gold egg custard buns, I suspect that these are not made in-house, but rather store-bought. The sticky rice lacked ingredients and the rice was a little harder than if made fresh. And the perfectly shaped black buns with a golden brush stroke on top (which I've seen all over the internet) seemed too elevated-looking compared to everything else. I'm not the biggest fan of molten lava buns, but they came out nicely. I didn't have any, but the molten lava custard was pretty runny. All in all, an okay experience. Service was a bit lacking. I don't recommend the dim sum dishes, but if I happen to want congee, I may give this place another go. Apart from the dim sum and rice rolls, the noodles I glimpsed from other customers looked not bad. I wonder if other locations are better.

We didn't have to wait for a table, but it was quite full for how many tables they have! They have both a good amount of outdoor seating and indoor seating. Ordering is done via a QR code on each table. I want to start out by saying that we were all hungry after a hike, so between the three of us, we shared: 1) Pig Ears & Cucumber w/ Chili Sauce: I love the crunchy, gelatinous feeling of biting into these. They're kinda refreshing since it's usually served cold with cucumber. I think they give a pretty good portion for this appetizer dish. 2) String Beans Sauteed w/ Garlic Sauce: Lots of garlic pieces mixed into these string beans! The beans weren't the most fresh. There were some stringy ones, but portion was also pretty generous and I usually like having these when I have dumplings! It's a nice pairing. 3) Shrimp, Egg, Chive Pockets (2): These are huge pockets and packed full of ingredients. The skin was thin, crispy, but just a tad oily. I love that they added so much chives into it. Although the skin fell apart pretty quickly - either because it's too heavy with ingredients or the ingredients were wet - I appreciate the thin skin more than a thick skin. 4) Juicy Pan-fried Pork Buns: These were my favorite. I haven't found a really good one around the Bay until I tried these. Usually the buns I get are either too thick-skinned, doesn't have good bun to pork ratio, or dry. These on the other hand, were pretty close to perfect. There was a lot of juice inside - I would say as much as the XLBs. The skin was still pretty thin on the top and not too dough-y on the bottom, but also had a nice crunch from being pan-fried. And the pork was nicely flavored! I would come back just for these. 5) Pork Xiao Long Bao: Also pretty good! Skin was thin and held a lot of juice! Pork was nicely flavored as well! But portion was smaller than most other restaurants I've been to. 6) Dumplings with Shrimp, Pork & Chive (10): These were also one of my favorites. They have their skin perfected - not too thick. Filling wise, this is one of my top go-to for filling, and it's hard to resist a good dumpling! We walked out with our bellies full and feeling great. I can't say there were much interaction with the servers since they were so busy, but would come back when I'm around the area!
