HOT TAKE: Cajun Crack'n (the Concord location at least) is just as good, if not better, than The Boiling Crab. I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. The seafood menu selection is the same as most crab boil spots. I ordered the deveined/headless shrimp on my last visit. The spicy sauce was def spicy! Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! The garlic noodles were a hit. The food is like a perpetual motion machine. You get hungrier the more you eat. The Po' boy sandwich got a thumbs down from my son. He felt the large bread amount and it's dry texture overpowered the other sandwich ingredients. A large amount of water pooled on the floor in the back of the restaurant while we were dining necessitating what sounded like a shop vac to pick up the water. Too noisy but Accidents happen. There was an Open During Construction sign outside. Rebecca our server was pleasant and attentive. She is a keeper. The bus person cleaning the behind us toward the front door table was chewing on something. She paused her duties for a moment, staring off into space in my direction. Eating while on duty and not on break in front of customers is unprofessional. I tried to make eye contact with her out of curiosity if the chewing would stop when our eyes met. Alas my experiment failed. Something above my head and to the rear of the establishment was more interesting. Maybe some of that water pooling action was still happening. The Men's restroom stall is heavily grafittied. I wish I could think of advice for restaurant owners who suffer this scourge. Perhaps paint the stall inside a solid color and have a can of spray paint on hand? When you pay using the notepad computer the waitress carries, you need to sign on the screen before you hand over your credit card. That is odd. Ordered the Special Combo #1 with the House Special Sauce at medium, and overall it was really good. The combo had a nice variety with shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn, potatoes, and egg, and everything was cooked well. The house special sauce was buttery, garlicky, flavorful, and the medium spice level had just the right amount of heat without being too much. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sauce was a little on the salty side. It was still delicious, but after a while the saltiness started to stand out. We found this place via Google search. My wife and I were so excited because it is a new seafood boil spot for us lol. We walked in and waited about 5 mins for a table to get cleaned off. No real wait time was amazing. Our waitress was Elizabeth. She was super nice. We ordered a pitcher of beer and cold glasses. However, the glasses were not really cold. We sent them back and received better ones. For food, we ordered lemon pepper wings. They were crispy, but definitely lacked the lemon pepper taste. I was a little disappointed with them. Next came our food. We ordered #2 (Mild) with four eggs and rice. However, when the eggs arrived... they looked disgusting. They had all this stiff on them and they came in a separate bag.. so this made no sense. I sent them back and requested clean and fresh eggs. Customer service-Sardar who was our server showed excellent customer service. He Checked on us during our meal and didn't have us letting a long time to take our order. Lots of customers ordered take out this evening and for some reason that caused a massive backlog on the dine in customer orders. It was a very long wait until we got our food served. This place is by far one of the better seafood boil places in the area. We called in our order for pick up, person taking the order was nice and our food was ready in 20 minutes! Picking up the food was quick, you just walk in past the host stand to the cashier across from the live seafood. For apps, give the garlic noodles and fried pickle a try. The various baskets are not cheap, but the quality is there and very tasty best paired with beer. The front of the restaurant is under construction, but once you walk in is super nice :) the restaurant is very spacious, clean and we didn't have to wait to be seated. I had the $34.95 special, a site of steam rice and garlic bread it was so good as soon as you get there they bring you lemons, and a plastic bib, if you haven't been there they explain you how to order. Space is huge, brightly lit with vibrant signs and lots of seating. Service was great, menu was organized and had a ton of options. We got the mild house combo sauce with the deveined shrimp, crawfish, sausage, corn; fried catfish, mac and cheese (for toddler), Cajun and sweet potato fries, garlic noodles, and rice. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The seafood was fresh, and the sauce had just the right amount of kick without overpowering it. After that night, I put the rest of my family on and I mean... literally. I booked my cousins birthday here for like 40 is of us, which by the way is the perfect spot if you're hosting a large group because they will accommodate! They have the perfect space and the service is always great. And the food, portion, price is worth it! I always get the spicy house sauce with whatever seafood I'm feeling, my daughter at the time was a baby baby and she loved the garlic noodles. For the boils we ordered the signature #1 with the spicy Cajun sauce and a couple of the deveined shrimp boils with the house special sauce and combination fixings (potatoes, 2 boiled eggs, corn, 1/2 lb sausages) and all were amazing!!! The signature #1 included snow crab leg for the cherry on top. The sauces were so flavorful! The spicy Cajun had the right amount of spicy level. The house special is a mixture of all the sauces and had a generous amount of chopped garlic which elevated it. We also had the Cajun fried rice, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, and Buffalo wings. The Cajun fried rice was a 4/5 for the amount of veggies and shrimp/spam it had. It just needed more salt/seasoning in our opinion. The garlic noodles were a 3/5. Just okay. The noodle was very thin. The Cajun fries were a 5/5 for their crispiness and seasoning on point! The Buffalo wings were not your average Buffalo wings. They were a 4/5 for their smoky taste and not being as saucy. The Cajun curly fries were good, but rice is still the best side to go with seafood boil in my opinion. We got their Combo #1 which is really worth the price! We usually dine in here but this last time we ended up getting our order togo as we didn't want to leave our dog home alone. So this review will be specific to the service that they put into the containers as well as the food themselves. First off the food: We got the 3lbs for 2 special that comes with side items if you're comparing it to Boiling Crab from San Jose. I like the sauce here a lot and the shrimps are bigger and better in my opinion. We did get a pound of crawfish and it was decent for what you pay for. The bag of food was double wrapped and placed into a brown bag. The brown bag itself was wrapped with a plastic bag outside of it to make sure no sauces leaks out of the bag. Salt & pepper containers were thrown in as well along with slices of lemons! They even provided bibs and gloves too which is a first for me since other places overlook these items. I would say it's better to go to this restaurant when crab season first open so that you get a nice size crab. The first time I went my crab bodies did not match. I am a seafood lover so I know exactly what I should be getting. Our server was pretty cool and got my order perfect to the T, as I got their signature sauce however I did not want the Cajun to be too spicy. Service was good. I mean the staff is always running in this place lol I don't know if that is in their employee hand book or what. I told one guy "It's okay you're doing a great job.
