I usually visit the El Camino Discount Tire location in Oceanside as well as Encinitas but since this location was closer, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this visit wasn't as smooth as my previous experiences. When I arrived, I walked toward the service area and was told to go to the front because there were employees available to assist me there. Once I got to the front, I wasn't acknowledged right away. Later, when I returned to pick up my vehicle, I went to the front desk again and was directed back to the service area. When I got there, no one was at the desk, so I walked back to the front and again waited without being acknowledged before finally asking for my keys. The work on my vehicle was completed, but the customer service and communication could definitely be improved. There seemed to be several employees working, yet the process felt confusing and unorganized. Based on this experience, I'll likely continue visiting the El Camino location, where I've consistently had quicker and more attentive service. Hopefully this location can improve the customer experience moving forward. read more

We just bought a set of rims and tires and unfortunately after that the TPMS sensor is been on we took it back and they said there was nothing they could do even though we didn't have that before so I had to take it to another store to see if they could test remove and replace the sensors to correct this before taking it to a dealership to spend more money on something that was not there to begin with very disappointing and a lesson I'll remember next time I spent thousand plus dollars on a vehicle trying to make it safer only to have the light appear on the dashboard and not going away ***Update*** dealership said that was nothing wrong with the Computer/sensor Communication system like the person told me at the oceanside mission store , dealership advised me to take the car back the Discount Tire to replace sensors in case they got damaged from.all the mounting & Dismounting due to the wrong rims removed and replaced, which I did today 03/02/'26 other than the original Shop on Mission I took it to the one on El Camino Real and they replace all four sensors which of course I paid for $272.79 and the light is now gone, this could have been the issue from the beginning but my point is that the original installer shop never really explain to us that the sensors were damaged by remounting of rims and tires, I am grateful that the issue was fixed but the original shop could have told us to buy new sensors rather than just say that they're not mechanics and that they couldn't fix it, read more

Last time the tire pressure light went on and I went to the Service Place location in Vista, they let me know my tread was getting low and would new tires. The one with the low pressure warning was the best of them. Light came on again, so decided to go to the new shop on Mission about four miles from home. Andy helped me out. He provided detailed information on tire choices and made recommendations based on my driving habits. Got a fantastic deal. I was driving out in just over an hour. Everyone I encountered provided stellar service. Happy to have them close by. The shop is very large compared to the others I've been to. Everyone must have been working with a customer when I came in, so it was confusing where to wait to be helped. I parked in the back and walked to the front of the shop where others were waiting and asked another customer if this was the place to wait, she let me know there had been someone there earlier. Then I looked to the back and saw someone being helped so I walked back there. Andy let me know he saw me walk in as he was helping the person in front of him and that he'd be right with me. I saw a couple of other confused people as I waited. Maybe a sign that says, thanks for your patience we'll be right with you, might help. read more

Unfortunately David wasn't very helpful and after purchasing locks for my tire did not install them or reach back out to us as informed we would. My dad went back to inquire and he was dismissive and had forgotten. Overall his customer service was not up to par. MULTIPLE ISSUES!!! I really wanted to like this spot as its a lot closer than the other location, but seems like they stocked the store with non-mechanics and/or people that dont have common sense... Took my car in for a rotation/balance. Guy checking me in was nice, everyone was friendly. Once done, I stopped at a nearby gas station to fill the tank and noticed the rear right wheel's weights here hanging off the front lip slightly, exposed to the naked eye and probably exposed enough a carwash brush would eventually take it off. Went back and they fixed it. Later that night, I checked my tire pressures. Good news is they filled them. Bad news is they didnt have the common sense to fill the pressure AFTER the rotation, so my fronts were 44psi and rears were 36psi.... Had to make yet another trip/stop to get it fixed. I also understand that its a car "shop," but for a business that prides itself on transparency and having an open dock, there was a lot of "f*cks" and "sh*ts" flying around... In the end, a simple rotation took 3 trips on two separate days... the Pro was that everyone seemed nice and friendly read more

I'll say this I've rarely and maybe never had an experience when a tire place says a time and they meet their time. That being said I brought in my fleet vehicle, those are not usually priority either because they don't always get paid right away. I had to pick up my kid in just over an hour and went to one shop and they said 1.5 hours called another close one they said more than and hour and although this location was a bit further I spoke to David and he told me he can have me in and out in 45 minutes no problem. I showed up and Andrew took care of me and let him know same thing that I was in a rush. They had me in and out in less than 45 minutes and I'll be bringing my personal business here and not just my fleet vehicle for work. I took my car to Discount Tires on Mission Ave. today for a needed tire rotation. I was asked if my car needed an alignment but there was no pressure for me to have one done. Since my car is six yeas old and I have never had an alignment done, I opted to do so. Andrew (Andy) took exceptional care of me and my vehicle. He was very professional and caring and the work was done very quickly. Don't send your wife in to get her tires balanced unless you are prepared for these guys to try and sell her new tires when they still have safe tread left to run on. It happened at another Discount Tire location before as well. When they worked on our other car they were lifting it in a manner that compressed the outer plastic body panels, leaving marks. The marks can't be seen unless you get under they car but the marks are there due to the incompetence of those working here. I do not recommend this shop and at this point will no longer take my business to Discount Tire after years of doing business with them. That is it, I'm done. Oh yeah, I just remembered the time that Discount Tire didn't tighten the lug nuts properly on my wife's car and I was lucky to discover it before a wheel came off while she was driving my kids somewhere. The absolute worst service I have ever received. There was no one at the front of the store or the rear to greet me or take care of my service needs. I waited Just under a half hour before a service technician came by and he chose to ignore me as well. I finally saw a red shirt (service writer) walk into the lobby with another customer. I was standing at the register as he walked past me with the customer and continued to the front of the store. No greeting, No-have you been helped?, no-we will be right with you sir! Oh and by the way, when I was looking for someone to help me when I first got there. I saw two employees going into the office. They remained there as I stood by the front register, on camera, waiting to be helped. As all of this was going on, I attempted to call the store but all of my calls (20) went unanswered. I continued to wait and another service technician came inside, He walked to the front of the store without any interaction with me. As he returned to the shop, I asked him if there was anyone who could help me. He suggested I go check the front of the store. I told him I did that several times and there wasn't anyone there to help. He then opened the door to the service area and asked another technician (Alex) to help me. Alex was helpful and processed my work order. There are a number of Discount Tire service store here in Oceanside Ca. alone. My recommendation, if you even want to give Discount Tire your business, would be to Not use the one located on 3935 Mission Avenue.
