Hello! Does your office accept the following dental insurance: Cigna Dental Care HMO or DeltaCare DHMO? Thank you!?

Do you need to get an appointment?

Yes, please call our office to learn more and to schedule an appointment. Thank you.

Yes, absolutely. Patients can choose as many colors as they want if they brush their teeth well in between orthodontic visits!

He laid out all the options (different braces, Invisalign, etc) very clearly so that I could make an educated decision.

Although the doctor get the job done fast, there isn't very much bed side manner. Going in intially as a young teen, every appointment was always frightening. If you do not meet the doctor's standards, you will be scolded. The doctor did not wear a mask back then, you would get saliva sprayed on your face when he tried to talk to you. You have to address Doctor Chen the new wires at the back of your mouth is hurting you asap, or he will move onto the next pateitn. Tried to avoid going back as much as possible after the retainers were finished. Did not even take photos of finished results since I dreaded going back. Went back for retainer maintenance after 5 years from strong encouragement from my dentist. Tried to ask for a copy of my records. Since I never provided them photos of my results, Doctor Chen became upset. Although he did not yell, he started raising his voice to defend himself in front of his staff and other patients, and pointed additional things I did not fulfill as a patient, such a routine check ups as they stated many years ago. I do see Doctor Chen and his staff trying to make improvements such as changing the waiting room environment and wearing masks. I had hopes this business would be worth the wait when I walked in today. But I feel very discouraged again.

The WORST orthodontist EVER!…read more The last time I came here was probably almost a decade ago, I started when I was in early high school. I will never forget the days in that office. Dr. Howard Chen was supposedly the best orthodontist in the area, how wrong that information was! His office is CONSTANTLY packed. You arrive every time for your appointment but there's a 'mandatory' wait for at least 1.5 hours. They were so busy they always have at least 15 patients in the first waiting room and 6 kids in the second waiting room. When it's finally your turn on the chair, you still have 2 kids ahead of you. While you wait, there is entertainment provided by Dr. Chen and his nurse assistants, he's almost always flirting with them. I don't think I've seen one male nurse the couple of years I've been there. All this wait is definitely made worth while for the sloppy work that's about to happen next. Every visit I paid, I walk out with my face covered in my own saliva, on the rare occasions when he actually remembers to wear a mask that is. More than half the time you leave with your saliva and his spit all over your face. He spits a lot when he talks.. and he talks A LOT (remember what I said about the flirting?). He'd make you keep a toothbrush in his office that's kept with everybody else's toothbrush - no security whatsoever, you can only pray that someone didn't accidentally used your toothbrush - and uses max strength to tackle your teeth when he thinks you're not brushing hard enough. The work he does is extremely unprofessional. He'd always tighten the rubber bands way too tight, rarely cuts the wire in the back of your teeth. For years I've had torn walls in the back of my mouth, on my tongue and all along the sides of my inner lips. I would complain but he never remembers to do anything. After a couple years i couldn't take it anymore. I just stopped going and had the braces left on my teeth for years because I dreaded going back to him, that's how much I hated going there.

Choosing orthodontic treatment for your child is never a small or simple decision for a parent…read more The treatment can take a long time, and there are so many things to worry about. Will my child be in pain? Will she feel scared during the process? Which orthodontist can I truly trust with my child? Before starting Elena's orthodontic treatment, I had many concerns and carefully considered all of my options. After giving it a great deal of thought, I chose Steve S. Lee, MS, DDS, and now I can say with complete confidence that choosing Dr. Lee was one of the best decisions I could have made for my daughter. From our very first consultation, Dr. Lee never rushed us or overwhelmed us with complicated medical terminology. He carefully explained Elena's current dental condition, why orthodontic treatment was needed, and how the entire treatment process would proceed, step by step. He explained everything thoroughly so that I could fully understand as a parent, while also speaking directly to Elena in a gentle and child-friendly way so that she would not feel frightened or overwhelmed. That was one of the first things that truly impressed me. Even adults can feel nervous sitting in a dental chair, so I can only imagine how intimidating it may feel for a child. The sounds of the dental equipment, unfamiliar tools, and having something placed inside the mouth can all be uncomfortable and frightening. However, Dr. Lee never rushed through the appointment. Before doing anything, he calmly explained to Elena what he was about to do. He would gently tell her what was happening and reassure her throughout the entire process. He repeatedly asked her, "Are you doing okay?" "Does anything hurt?" "Are you uncomfortable?" "If anything bothers you, please let me know." Throughout the treatment, he continuously checked on Elena and carefully watched her reactions. Whenever she looked even slightly uncomfortable, he paused and made sure she was okay before continuing. It was clear that he was not only focused on placing the orthodontic appliances correctly. He was also taking care of my child's emotions and making sure she felt safe. As a parent, those are the moments that bring the greatest sense of relief. Dr. Lee did not treat Elena as simply another patient in the chair. He treated her as a child who might feel nervous, scared, or uncertain, and he showed genuine patience and respect toward her feelings. His kindness never felt routine or superficial. He took the time to make sure Elena understood what was happening. He patiently waited for her when she needed a moment, answered every question, and explained things again whenever necessary. He also listened carefully to my concerns as a parent and never dismissed any of my questions. His explanations regarding the treatment were extremely detailed and clear. He kept us informed about Elena's current progress and what to expect in the future. Because of his careful communication, many of the worries and uncertainties I had before beginning treatment slowly disappeared. Most importantly, watching the calm and caring way he interacted with Elena gave me complete confidence that we had found the right doctor to guide us through this long journey. Orthodontic treatment is not something that is completed in one or two visits. It is a long process that requires trust and cooperation between the child, the parents, and the doctor. Because of that, I believe a doctor's character and communication are just as important as professional skill. Dr. Lee truly has both. Elena was able to stay calm and cooperate throughout her treatment because he continually reassured her and carefully checked whether she was experiencing any discomfort. As I watched him notice even the smallest changes in her facial expression, I quietly felt grateful over and over again. I kept thinking, "We truly found a wonderful doctor." "I made the right choice for my daughter." For any parent who is wondering where to begin their child's orthodontic treatment, I sincerely recommend Steve S. Lee, MS, DDS. He is warm and gentle with children, clear and thorough with parents, and genuinely attentive throughout every part of the treatment process. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found a doctor who does not only care for a child's teeth, but also cares for the child's heart and emotional comfort. We still have a long way to go in Elena's orthodontic journey, but I feel completely comfortable moving forward because I trust Dr. Lee. Thank you, Dr. Lee, for always speaking kindly to Elena, for carefully checking whether she is in pain or uncomfortable, and for easing the worries of a concerned mother. Out of all the decisions I had to make regarding Elena's orthodontic care, choosing Dr. Lee was truly one of the best decisions I made. I am deeply grateful, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to every parent searching for a kind, trustworthy, and exceptional orthodontist for their child.

I was not comfortable agreeing to the braces without knowing the price/my costs. I attempted to call her office back later for pricing, but her office did not have her or her son call me back. In addition, she strongly preferred my son to use products such as Invisalign instead of traditional braces. I ended up going to another Orthodontist who gave me prices the same day and who is on Faculty at USC's Dental School. Some of her staff are very nice and some are okay.

Like most places of profession that are at the top of their field, it's not that easy to get fast appointments, so call or go in ahead of time to book one. Definitely worth giving them a chance. There's a reason they've been in business for so long while atleast a dozen other dentists have come and gone right across the street from them over the years. Long version; This dentist has been here forever! And they prove why everytime I visit. Everyone I interact with here is very professional and kind. They realize that we're there most likely for something uncomfortable and stressful. The thing I LOVE about this place is that they're very realistic with pain expectations. They tell me if it's going to hurt and offer to give extra numbing. They also tell me if the pain is going to be minimal and offer to do fillings and other procedures without numbing if it's not necessary. Other places I've been to while out of state have my entire face numb for a whole day just for a little painless drilling. My insurance handles most of the costs and this is the only place I've been going to for 10 years so I'm unsure how the pricing compares. I've never waited more than 10 minutes from when the appointment time has me coming in. Nothing worse than waiting forever in anxiety to get a tooth pulled! I've seen a few dentists come and go from this place, but Dr Tan(I think the owner) has been there and is always super gentle and definitely knows what he's doing. Finding an honest dentist is like finding an honest mechanic. You'll never pay for or end up fixing something that you didn't need fixed. There's a new younger guy, Dr Nick, who started working here recently. I think it might even be Dr Tan's son?? Luckily he's following well in his father's(?) footsteps. Super gentle and, once again, realistic about the pain. He's done some dental work for me the last time I've been there and it's actually pretty nice having a younger dentist. Makes it a little easier to talk to and explain fully what the problem is and vice versa with the info he gives being very clear. THANK YOU to Dr Tan, Dr Nick, and all the other wonderful ladies who help me out during my visits!
