Dr. Peng is a competent Orthodontist. We decided to go with another Orthodontist because when I asked her for pricing, she said her biller was not in town and she could not give me a price quote that day. I was not comfortable agreeing to the braces without knowing the price/my costs. I attempted to call her office back later for pricing, but her office did not have her or her son call me back. In addition, she strongly preferred my son to use products such as Invisalign instead of traditional braces. I ended up going to another Orthodontist who gave me prices the same day and who is on Faculty at USC's Dental School. Some of her staff are very nice and some are okay. read more

Okay it's taken me over a year to write a review, but I just wanted to explain how happy I am with the overall result. As an adult, I had braces since October 2020 to January 2023 so a little over two years. At some point in 2021, I moved to Seattle and kept flying back and forth for my treatment. It was a long and difficult journey and I felt insecure having braces as an adult, but overall it was worth the time and money because I feel more confident. From having crowded teeth to becoming more centered, I'm very satisfied. At first, I've came to this orthodontist to get the confidence of being able to smile without worrying how my teeth used to look. All of the staff here were really nice especially Daniel, he really looks like he enjoys his job a lot. Both doctors, Dr. Peng and Dr. Areepong are also both very skilled and talented, I still cannot believe how my teeth changed this much thanks to their help. All of the staff were also very approachable so if you have and concerns or any minor question, its always fine to reach out to them! The office for the past 3 years that I've been here have had also been really clean and most of the equipment were always wrapped in a plastic food wrap layer that can ensure your sanitization while being here and all of the small details for each season were also really easy to tell that the staff really had put in a big amount of effort to make the place look inviting. So, it's been three and a half years since I had my braces taken off and I continue to maintain my teeth by diligently putting on my retainers every night as Dr. Peng advised me. I went to Dr. Peng to have my first Ortho treatment back in 2001. She did an amazing job on my first treatment. Over the years I've always been good at wearing my retainers. Even if I would misplace or break them, I always went back to see Dr. Peng. Unfortunately as I got older my snaggletooth started to stick out and it started to bother me. Everyone says my teeth look fine but if you look at the photos, you can clearly see who my problem child is. Initially I wanted to get Invisalign but Dr. Peng suggested that going that route wouldn't get me the results I wanted. The issue was to realign the root of the tooth and Invisalign wouldn't fix that problem. As always, I fully trust Dr. Peng in all her assessments and all her referrals that has anything to do with my teeth. A week before I got my braces off Dr. Peng asked me "Are you happy with your results?" I answered "Aren't you glad I came back to get it fixed?" I can't say enough good things about Dr. Peng and her son, Dr. A, for all the work they put into my treatment. Off topic but when I first started going to Dr. A when I was 21, Dr. A was still in Jr. High and he would be in the office after school doing his homework. UNTRUSTWORTHY: $200-300 JUST FOR X-RAYS. (You must pay to receive a quote!!) I came in here for a consultation for braces. My teeth are pretty straight but I've got underbite tendencies. Simple right? Apparently not. Here's what gets people to think this is a good place. She pulls out a ruler during the consultation. It seems thorough, it seems methodical. But here's the kicker: they won't be up front with the price quote or estimated cost for braces UNTIL you pay $200-300 for x-rays. I've been to around 10 orthodontists to find the right place and fit for me. But NEVER have I ever had to pay such a large price just to hear a rough estimate. Who in their right mind would pay so much just to get a quote for something they potentially might not even be able to afford?! This has taken me quite a while to write due to my huge disappointment and hurt and wanted to make sure I didn't write super angry. We have been going to Dr. Peng for many years. My 33 year old got braces from her when he was a teenager and I did as well years ago prior to my surgery. Fast forward I had taken in my youngest and I was set on braces as he was a teenager and so on. I voiced this to Dr. Peng and she convinced my son to go with Invisalign after discussing with her even after work hours that it was not a good idea she pressed it and finally gave in, going completely against my gut and better judgement. A few months later, SHE decided that braces were a better idea and we would need to go with braces, ON MY DOLLAR. I was upset, shocked not to mention let down. My son used the Invisalign continuously as initially pressured into, and as my son had some personal issues going on which I had explained to Dr. Peng, we made it in sometime later. Dr. Peng decided while I sat chairside by my son, to basically chew my son out, basically reprimanding him in front of patients and staff. I had to stop her and told her that if she needed to talk about anything specific we needed to do it in her office in private and not announcing her negativity amongst everyone. We returned for a follow up visit, this time I did not go in with my son. Shortly there after he walked out upset stating he wanted to get out of there and get my money back, as apparently Dr. Peng decided to reprimand him again in front of everyone again. He is a tough kid and basically teared up on the ride home very upset. I am hurt, angry and the trust I had for her for so many years is gone. Be better! I'm a nurse and I do my best to treat my patients with respect and understanding. Money should never be a factor and also treating others as you or you would like your family to be treated. When I first made my consult, Dr. Peng and her team explained to me the whole process of getting my braces. After waiting a week for my XRays and teeth mold, Dr. Peng sat me down in her office and schooled me on how she's going to transform my smile. She tediously explained the process down to a science and that's when I knew that I picked the right doctors and team to work on my adult teeth. I've had braces when I was a tween, but because I didn't wear my retainers, and because according to Dr. Peng I had what's called a slight "bimaxillary protrusion," I didn't have the straight teeth I had wanted for so long. Dr. Peng is not just any other orthodontist. She explains what's wrong with your teeth, how she wants to fix it angle by angle, and tells you what to expect. I had thought I would be done by my 2 year mark, but because Dr. Peng and Dr. Areepong wants me to have the best smile, they extended me for another 2 months to make sure that every nano inch of my smile is up to their standard of perfection. I originally saw Dr. Peng when I was in 6th grade. At the time I had a gap between my two front teeth, some of my teeth were crooked, and I had a serious over bite. Within a year and a half my braces were off, all of my issues were fixed and for the rest of my life I've had a smile that everyone compliments. At the time my braces were removed she added a "spacer" behind my two front teeth to ensure they always stayed together. After 13 years it broke off and I hesitated to get it replaced. Now 2 more years have gone by and I recently discovered that my gap is starting to return! I called Dr. Peng's office and was delighted when I went in for my appointment this weekend. Keep in mind I have not seen her for 15 years and she remembered me! It felt like a blast from the past being in their office once again. She informed me of all the details that putting in a permanent retainer behind my two front teeth would entail, she gave me honest and reasonable pricing, and she performed the task quick and efficiently. Dr. Peng is such a wonderful, caring and friendly orthodontist. About four months ago, I just finished my second round of braces.. both with Dr. Peng! The reason why I had to do it again is in no way Dr. Peng's fault. I had gotten braces as a teenager. A combination of not getting my wisdom teeth pulled out and not properly wearing my retainers had made my teeth move and so I wanted to do it again. This time, I had my wisdom teeth removed first, then slapped on the braces, and now wearing my retainers ALL the time (I actually heard that most people need to continue wearing their retainers for life, if they want to keep their teeth the same). Anyhow, Dr. Peng only has the patient's needs in mind. She is a perfectionist and that is a good thing, when you are spending thousands of dollars on your smile. Everyone else in the office is just as nice, and always have a friendly smile, asks how you are doing, and genuinely care about you and your needs. Calling them, and requesting for more rubber bands is no problem (they send them to your house, too so you don't need to go in the office). I've bothered them a number of times, when I had an emergency wire sticking out or popping out, or something scratching my mouth.. They always allow me to come in as soon as possible and fix it right away. Dr. Peng also utilizes the latest technology and techniques to speed up the process, without improvising the effectiveness of braces. 1st time: 2 years, 2nd time: 1.5 years. She's really great!! When I got my retainers, she recommended that I can get clear, invisalign-like retainers to wear during the day, and to wear the wire retainers at night while I sleep. Dr. Peng and her staff are great! I'm so glad that I was referred to her office because I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I had braces for 2 years when I was in middle school and my previous orthodontist had warned me that my jaw will grow into an underbite and that I'd have to get surgery once it's fully grown. That's great that he informed me, but he didn't do too much else to prepare me. Dr. Peng, on the otherhand, is extremely experienced with dealing with underbite cases. When she receives pre-teen patients who she knows will have jaw issues, she gives detailed information about what to expect and prepares their teeth ahead of time. When the patient returns in their late teens/early 20's, all they have to do is put on braces for a couple months, go into surgery, and do some fine tuning afterwards (approx 6 mo process +/- depending on the case). However, in my situation, my previous orthodontist didn't really do any of that, so my process will take 18mo-2yrs. Gah! Dr. Peng and her staff have been extremely helpful, polite, and knowledgeable throughout the process so far. After my first couple visits, I had my mold and x-rays completed. They even advised me that I can take all my records and consult with other orthodontists before I sign anything, which I think shows good ethics and real professionalism. However, after sitting with Dr. Peng for my first consultation, I knew that I didn't have to meet with any other orthodontists. She was extremely detailed in explaining my situation and provided me a couple options to choose from, was honest about what the results will look like for each, and provided her recommendation. Dr. Peng has been very considerate of my schedule constraints and was able to squeeze me in last minute. Everyone in her office is very friendly, professional, and truthful, which are all things that I can respect. The only thing they don't have in their office is the capabililty to do xrays. Dr. Peng is an AMAZING orthodontist! All these reviews are correct in what they say - her staff truly is amazing and they are always warm and welcoming. Dr Peng herself is very good at explaining the treatment process to you, and as soon as you have any questions or concerns, she is willing to stop and and patiently explain everything so you, as a patient, have full understanding of what she is doing. For me, it was my second time having braces. I had braces before, but was still left with an underbite that went untreated. My old orthodontist didn't explain the process fully enough to me, and I was left unsatisfied with my smile because all he did was straighten it and my jaw was still obviously unaligned. I felt super self conscious in pictures and I even started smiling differently and at specific angles to try and hide it. However, around the end of high school, I finally decided to consider surgery as an option, and having heard that many of my friends went to Dr. Peng for their orthodontics (and still had amazingly straight teeth) we went in for a consultation and were amazed by how professional she was and how she carefully explained my situation to me and what my options were. There was no pressure at all to start immediately, either! I'm extremely glad that I decided to get braces all over again because this experience has made it worth it! Dr. Peng found a way to make the surgery much more affordable for us, and now that I just got my braces removed, I absolutely love my new smile. She was absolutely wonderful and extremely accommodating throughout the entire 2.5 years, so much that even though I'm currently attending college in Northern California, I've been flying back on weekends the last two years to make my appointments. I just recently gotten my braces off and I highly recommend Dr. Peng, her staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Not only do they specialize in dealing with under-bite cases (as mine was) but they also use state of the art orthodontic techniques and device on their patients.
