Your monthly bill will never be the same, they will add people who do not live in your home or have a drivers license to your insurance policy and charge you for it. Even after you provide all the proof to Chris or Kiara they will say they will send it to the underwriters which is LIE! I've had good experiences with State Farm and their agents, but not this office. Communication, with a few exceptions, is lacking - it takes weeks (if ever) for calls and emails to be returned, the office seems disorganized, and not very professional. On two separate occasions I called him for a quote, and when I sent a payment found out that the actual amount owed was much higher - make sure you get everything in writing! When I went to his office in person he was very dismissive and kept ignoring me to talk to my husband, and in our followup emails he repeatedly got my name wrong. Really poor. State Farm requires you handle most of your business with their agent's office so though their customer service team was really nice, they couldn't properly set up my auto payment. I went online and paid myself, after receiving a cancellation notice even though I asked to pay on 4 different occasions. The first time I was told my agent and the administrative person who handled my paperwork had been let go. Because of State Farms agent centered approach and lack of quality control when it comes to this particular agent I will probably not be back with State Farm and definitely not with this agent. That's the nicest way I can speak of their repeated incompetence. read more

Beyond AWFUL!!! I decided to leave my auto insurance company for over 15 years (VERY VERY BIG mistake) to get a better rate with Chris Miller/State Farm. Chris Miller/State offered 40% less than what I was currently paying for the exact same coverage. So I left my former auto insurance company (who wouldn't? Right?). Three months later, they came back to me and said the underwriters adjusted my insurance and they TRIPLED my rate, so now I'm paying more than my original auto insurance company. Of course, I'm going to leave State Farm. This is LITERALLY THE MOST DISINGENUOUS company. I will likely file with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. read more

As a long-time State Farm client, it pains me to write this poor review. I had been very happy with my SF agents in the other states where I lived, so I thought it would be a breeze to transfer my information over to this office in DC....right? Wrong. I phoned on a Thursday and was promised a call back before 5 pm ET that day. The following Tuesday, I hadn't heard back so phoned again to check the status of my policy transfer. Still nothing. Now a full week has passed and since I cannot even get a call back, I had no other choice but to hand my business to another agent. Thank goodness I received such poor service up-front = great predictor of the future. I feel like I dodged a bullet. P.S. A shout out to Kathy Huynh in Ty Nguyen's State Farm office in Alexandria, VA. For comparison: Kathy handled my policy transfer the very same day, called me back to review the coverages, and emailed me some final docs for signature. All in the space of a few hours. I have been a State Farm customer for 26 years, in 6 different states, with at least 6 different agents. I have always been very happy with how State Farm has handled my insurance needs. Chris Miller's office has very nearly cost State Farm a customer. His office has repeatedly messed up my policies, providing different coverage than discussed. They have sold me policies that State Farm has immediately canceled because they are not valid. They have established policies in my name without my consent. And it took them over 18 months to cancel a policy that I did not want, resulting in several billing hassles with State Farm. They apparently either keep no records of correspondence, or they simply deny those records when they are not in their favor. As other have mentioned, the office does not return calls. This is especially important because their usual response to any query is "we don't know, let us call you back when we have more information". Chris has refused to release my policies to another agent, and specifically told me that I am not allowed to speak to State Farm directly, which is not true. After finally giving up on his office, State Farm was able to correct his mistakes after one phone call and is in the process of transferring my policies to a more competent agent. For people whose job it is to sell insurance, you'd think they would know how to sell insurance. Not so in the case of this particular State Farm agent! I've had auto insurance with them for almost a year now and they STILL haven't been able to figure out how to set up my autopay. I keep getting notices in the mail every other month or so saying my coverage will be cancelled if I don't pay. Not only did they not send me a first notice of non-payment, I have autopay! It will work fine one month and the next month I'll get a scary cancellation notice. Wtf State Farm. I also get an absurd amount of mail from this agency, sometimes two or three slightly different policies at once! And when I call they can't even tell me which is the right policy and yell at me when I ask them to explain forms I was asked to sign. Ridiculous. read more

Putting aside State Farm's egregious policy of dropping my DC-area renter's insurance b/c of a hail damage claim I made on a house I own in another state THAT ISN'T EVEN INSURED BY STATE FARM (!), I'd still be canceling my policy because of the simple fact that it takes three increasingly angry voicemail messages to get a call back from this office. This used to be Karen Pratt, and I had been a customer of hers since 2000. Customer service stinks now that Chris Miller is the agent. I have given my credit card information over the phone for payment to an automobile policy and had it applied to a condo insurance policy -- that wasn't even due! The office does not call you back, so if you have an issue, you will repeatedly have to call them if you need service. DO NOT USE THIS AGENT! read more

This agency is terrible. I mean terrible. They don't answer their phones. They don't return phone calls. They don't process paperwork. And worst of all, when you try to change agents they hold you captive and apparently can refuse to release your policies to the new agent. State Farm's corporate office does not seem equiped to do so either, so if you want to change agent's, you are stuck at the whim of whether they ever decide to get around to clicking the "change agent" button on their computers.
