Chrisly is a solid Hong Kong style café located in the Kennedy & Bur Oak area and a great spot if you're craving classic cha chaan teng comfort food. They're especially well known for their Hong Kong style milk tea, which truly lives up to the reputation. As shown in my photos, the dishes are well presented and look just as satisfying as they taste. The service is friendly and efficient, making the overall dining experience relaxed and enjoyable. Some standout menu items include the black pepper chicken steak, the scallion pork chop rice, and the satay beef instant noodles, all of which deliver familiar Hong Kong flavors done right. The milk tea deserves a special mention. Rich, aromatic tea paired with silky smooth milk, well balanced, and you can ask for the sweet level you like. With quick service, reasonable prices, and consistently good food, Chrisly is an easy recommendation for anyone in the area looking for authentic HK café vibes.

Chrisly Cafe is a popular spot for authentic Hong Kong-style comfort food, highly regarded for its classic dishes enjoyed by locals since childhood. The cafe is known for excellent Hong Kong-style milk tea, described as smooth and flavorful, and for silky scrambled eggs that pair well with various dishes, curry beef is a must try item too. We ordered 4 main dishes: Scrambled eggs with BBQ pork rice: Highly praised, especially the egg which pairs nicely with the rice. Baked tomato pork chop rice with cheese: Good taste but pork is leaner than some prefer. Cart noodles: Customizable with various ingredients, capturing a famous Hong Kong street food experience. Spring onion chicken rice: Another well-loved comfort dish. Milk tea: A must-try, celebrated for its smooth texture and strong tea flavor. Atmosphere and Service Seating can be cramped and not the most comfortable, reflecting the busy, popular nature of the cafe. Wait times can be common during peak hours due to popularity. Service is fair, though space is limited. Pricing Four main dishes costing $63.05 for four people shows reasonable value for authentic and tasty Hong Kong comfort food. Overall, Chrisly Cafe offers a genuine taste of Hong Kong with strong favorites like milk tea and scrambled eggs. It is worth trying for those who appreciate classic Hong Kong flavors, despite the modest seating comfort and busy atmosphere. I went there a few times, so I added some other dishes pictures for yr reference!

It's the second larger location for Chrisly Cafe and there is still a line up for about 20-30 minutes on a busy Saturday lunch rush. For a Cantonese cha chan tang the milk tea was on point and its signature satay beef noodles combo with egg and sausage took me back to my childhood taste in Hong Kong. The decor is a retro updated take on the classic local Hong Kong cha Chang tang ambiance and a cleaner take too. We also ordered the beef curry rice and bbq pork chop egg on rice. They were both on the saltier side but tasty. Come for the comfort food but would skip this if you are a group of larger than 4 people as they will split you up due to the table configurations.

I was actually surprised that they opened another location in Markham making it so convenient in the area! It is located in a plaza right next to a highschool. This is a Hong Kong cafe that serves various noodles and rice dishes. I've only been to the one in Scarborough so this was my first time here. I tried coming here before like a few months ago but it was way too busy so I didn't bother waiting. This time I came on a weekday late in the afternoon so it wasn't busy. I didn't have to wait for a table. Compared to the menus shown in previous reviews, they have definitely increased the prices. I ordered a BBQ pork with rice noodles, it came with a drink so I got hot milk tea. I think I have chosen the wrong dish, the BBQ pork was a bit dry it wasn't as flavorful. I don't usually order BBQ pork at Hong Kong cafes so I don't think I would do that again in the future. I'll stick to satay beef instead which I think would perhaps taste better. Overall, the service was quick, the prices are affordable. Will certainly return for other dishes.

THEIR COFFEE HAS HAZELNUT. If you have a nut allergy, you CANNOT have their coffee!! We got the ham macaroni breakfast set. The chicken soup as base was good because they cooked the ham in it but that also means that the ham was dry and tasteless Iced lemon tea was alright but definitely smaller than the standard. Their coffee was rich and interesting. However, they grind hazelnut so if you have a nut allergy, do not get their coffee. Service was good. Staff were good and answered our questions. The vibe was casual. LOTS of people!

This is the second location for this cafe and when you walk in you immediately think Hong Kong cafe...from the walls to the closely packed tables to the orange chopsticks on the table. We stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday and it was busy! Like most places now you add yourself to the wait list on the iPad by the front door. Menu is everything from instant noodles to baked rice/spaghetti to sandwiches (bolo bau). Great thing about this place is that the drink that comes with most meals can be cold at no additional charge. What was ordered: Baked chicken steak rice Satay beef instant noodle with eggs, sausage and a slice of toast Instant noodle with Swiss wings - served dry, no soup Iced lemon tea with all the meals. Portions were good and flavours were not bad. In terms of service, it was decent but I do feel they could have used an extra server. Seemed chaotic at times.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Vibe 5/5 New hong kong style in markham (right beside PETHS). Food was delicious! And the place was packed even though they are still currently doing soft opening. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR HK STYLE FRENCH TOAST AKA 西多士, it was GLISTERING! Taste so freaking good!!! - check out my tiktok vid for some live action #eatwithclaw Hong kong milk tea was silky and smooth! Literally wish this store was opened when i was a student at PETHS overall 5/5!!!!

Authentic HK style cafe, down to the hustle bustle feel and utensils! Really like this place as it gave off great vibes when you head inside. Orders are taken quickly and food comes out hot and fresh. I got the beef satay noodle combo and theres nothing to complain about. The beef was tender, noods were cooked perfectly (not soft) and scrambled eggs it came with as a side nice and silky. Wish the cup of HK style milk tea was a little bigger but other than that, great place. Make sure to come early to avoid the wait!

New Hong Kong cafe in Markham! I think they just opened as they are currently doing a soft opening. Staff were very nice and fast with their service. The food was good and I love the different choices that they have on their menu. The curry pork chop bun was good and their curry flavour was a mix of sweet/spicy. Their coffee/tea mix was good too. We came during tea time and were seated immediately. There are lots of tables inside. I'll definitely be coming back!

My absolute favorite Hong Kong Cafe! Their milk teas are really yummy. Curry chicken rice and bake tomato porkchop are my to go dishes for a quick pick up meal. Visited during afternoon tea time to try their menu between 2-5:30pm. The cha siu (bbq pork) with thick egg noods (dried with light sauce mixed with noods) are a great option too. If you prefer soupy noods, opt for the beef brisket rice soup noodles. Their curry porkchop sandwich offered during afternoon tea time is great too but l've yet to try it. Definitely try this place if you're in the area.

Love this local spot for a quick fix of hk style cafe food! They have a pretty decent selection of dishes for afternoon tea specials but my go to is definitely the French toast! The tea specials come with a drink too. The super thick cut slices of bread were perfectly fried and goes so well with the syrup provided! I also really enjoy their cart noodle (choose the toppings and broth sauce and noodle type). I usually get the oil noodles (thick and chewy) with the marinated radish.

Second location of Chrisly Cafe, with their first location by Denison Centre further south. I've honestly never been to their first location, but my parents have. This is a standard HK style cafe, with a section for "Special Recommendation" and "Truly Recommendation". So what are the actual recommendations haha. They have a "special combo" that consist of beef satay instant noodles and a double sausage scrambled egg, which was what I took. The instant noodles were good, slightly undercooked but mixing it with the broth allowed it to be cooked perfectly. Beef was also good. The double sausage scrambled egg was quite unique, the egg reminded me of how Cha Kee does it, though I'm wondering if more places are starting to learn how to make scrambled eggs like Cha Kee. Service is, well, standard HK style cafe service. But it's a good addition that complements Cha Kee in the same plaza. Perhaps it'll up both their games!

Heard this place was popular and wanted to give it a try. Got here and joined the waitlist as there were many ahead of us. However moved fairly fast and was able to get seated fairly quick. The place was busy, however was a good size. Started to order and waited to try many items on the menu. Found out that most orders came with a drink which was a nice surprise. We had ordered a good selection of food and was able to share it all. So we placed the order and boy did it all come fast. They had a very good curry as we got the curry beef. Really enjoyed the different pork chops. The baked pork chop was really tasty. The ramen with beef was really tender. My son loved the chicken wings with the sunny side egg. I mean just about all that we had ordered was really good. However for me personally the one item I really normally enjoy would be the pineapple bun with butter I did not like at all. Now some of us liked it but not I. Mine was still cold and the crust was just kinda soggy. It ended up being a disappointment. All in all really still enjoyed this place as service was quick, good and fast. Price to me personally thought was all very fair. Would for sure like to return.

It was my first time here, and the experience started off on the wrong foot. I had barely sat down, not even 30 seconds, before a staff member was already hovering over us trying to take our order. I hadn't even had a chance to look the menu yet, which immediately made things feel rushed and uncomfortable. The space itself is quite small, and they won't let smaller groups of two people or fewer sit in the booths, which adds to that cramped and slightly stressful atmosphere. There's people hovering nearby watching if you're almost done. Overall, the entire dining experience felt rushed from start to finish. The food is cheap, I'll give them that, but unfortunately the quality reflects that. I ordered a sandwich and it was sloppily put together. The bread slices were not even aligned properly, where the top slice and bottom slices were in opposite directions, making it so you couldn't pick it up. Flavour-wise, I was hoping for more of a Hong Kong cafe style satay beef, but this wasn't it. The curry was okay, with some decent chunks of meat and potato, but nothing particularly memorable. What really left a bad impression was the payment experience. Their debit machine defaults to 12%, 15%, or 18% tips calculated after tax, with no upfront notice or custom option. Tipping is not mandatory in Canada, and it should be up to the customer based on service. When we asked about it, the response felt as if we were being made to feel cheap over "just a few cents". Honestly it is not about the amount, it is about principle. If you are just looking for a quick and cheap bite, this place might do the job. But considering the long lines and how rushed the experience is, you might end up waiting longer than you actually get to sit and eat. Personally, I will not be coming back. I would rather get takeout or dine somewhere that lets you actually relax and enjoy your meal.

Orders were ready within 10-15 minutes. Baked pork chop rice was mediocre at best. Wasn't that good, some pieces of pork were tender and some were tough, rice had very little to no flavour. Hainanese chicken was delicious! Chicken was tender, rice has a nice flavour and you can tell they use the chicken broth they cooked the chicken to cook their rice. Comes with 3 sauces. Curry beef brisket was my favourite. Beef brisket was tender, the tender potatoes soaked up the curry sauce, and the curry was flavourful with a hint of spiciness. Lemon tea is good, but you really need to smash down the lemon to get that lemony taste. Will come back just for the curry beef brisket and hainanese chicken.

Spicy pork soup vermicelli combo comes with eggs and toast. Soup vermicelli was good and flavorful. I opted for scrambled eggs and it was perfectly smooth and creamy. Toasts were a bit on a bland side. Curry fish ball, turnip and pig skin was decent. Slightly oily and also a bit on a sweeter note. Curry beef brisket has a hint of spicyness and has coconut milk. Nice curry taste but also a bit too sweet imo. Brisket was tender overall. Tomato sauce pork cutlet with rice was good flavour. Pork cutlet was crispy and juicy but tomato sauce was a little sweeter than usual. Coconut red bean drink was decent but the red beans were too hard and lacks the sandyness (softer texture). If you've had red bean dessert soup then you would know what i mean. Would of been better if the red bean quality was better. 4 stars overall.

I am never the hop-on-the-bandwagon trendsetter. Good Catch Cafe and Bar has been in downtown Markham for a few years. I decided to come here for an early dinner after work on Wednesday for the first time. This eatery is a part of The Origin, the mall that includes a Cineplex, Goodlife Fitness, Chatime, and more. This eatery has its entrance facing Enterprise Boulevard. When you're parked at the parking lot across from it, it gives you the impression that the entrance is by the patio. Maybe you can enter and exit this side door when it's summertime. I see a lot of references in a number of Yelp reviews here to this eatery being Good Catch Boil. I remember when it was more of a seafood place when it first opened for business. It then meandered into a Hong Kong-style eatery, which is the case today. I'm guessing that the boil trend wasn't as popular over time. I walked in. I looked at a screen to check in. It was probably 4 pm and it wasn't terribly busy. I passed. A female server came over and asked if I was dining as a party of one. I nodded. She pointed me to a booth. I was pleased and sat myself down. It was comfy. It's kind of like a sports bar, but it's casual. I caught up with the Blue Jays loss against the Yankees the night before. By the end of my dining experience, this restaurant had good music playing that made dining here more upbeat. She came over with a bunch of menus. She also had a printed QR code. I could either order online or wave at any staff member to place my order. Nice! There are daily specials. You get a free drink with your order if you drop by between certain afternoon hours. I decided to order through the online menu and got these items: - Iced lemon Ribena - Curry fish balls (15) - Wonton noodle soup Service was wonderful. The female server got me water and my iced lemon Ribena. I love the latter drink so much. It was excellent. It had the perfect amount of lemon with Ribena, all iced. The water was also great. It was cold despite not having any ice cubes in it. My curry fish balls came out first. The curry smelled so good. I loved each curry ball that I stabbed with a skewer and dunked into the curry sauce. Each fish ball was bouncy and yummy. The sauce had a slight spicy kick that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd get them again. A male server came over with my bowl of wonton noodle soup. I had maybe ten different noodle options to choose from, from ramen, to udon. I choose thin noodles. If you want a noodle pull, you'll easily get it here. The noodles were delicious, long, and so good. They weren't clumpy. Perfect! I was surprised that I got broccoli. I ended up submerging the florets in the broth. They started off on the crunchier side. They softened up nicely and I enjoyed how healthy eating each floret made me feel. I am used to getting bok choy or no veggies with wonton noodle soup. It was nice that I got something different. The wontons were excellent. They had shrimp in them, which I am thinking that the seafood part of this business is still there. I loved the green onions in this bowl of deliciousness. The broth was perfect. It wasn't overly salty. I could taste sesame oil that was aded to it. I paid at the table. The female server asked if I was paying by cash or card. I rarely have the former on me, so it was my credit card. I tipped and tapped, and thanked her for everything. Staff are so nice here. I'd come back just for the service alone. The food and drink were amazing, so I'm definitely a fan who wants to return for more good eats and drinks. I used the washroom before leaving this eatery. When you walk into this restaurant, the washrooms are straight ahead, followed by a right turn. It was cool seeing bowls of noodles being made by kitchen staffers as I passed by to get to the washroom. The women's washroom was spacious and clean. No complaints. I'm so glad that I finally dropped by this eatery. At least three restaurants have closed recently at The Origin. I'm glad that this one is still thriving. I'd love to grab a bite to eat after a movie or simply come here to enjoy good Hong Kong-style dishes. (214)

The server lacked clarity and had a real mean attitude. Was giving off annoyed vibes and expressing it outwardly with their voice and their facial expressions; not sure that's the kind of service you're going for in the hospitality industry. I was trying to get my drink changed to a cold one from the dedicated drink and thought I followed the wording but was wrong. The wording on the menu is specifically for HK style drinks being in a cold form. Not a separate cold drink entirely. That was a simple clarification that would have been appreciated instead of the bickering and back and forth fuelled by annoyance. Out of two servers, one is much more pleasant than the other. Food is excellent. Passes the Chinese parent's standards for the cook of the fish and tofu for R13, as well as the peppery-ness of the AF9. The lamb skewers were phenomenal. Ambiance wise, it was cozy and quiet. Not very busy when we came, there were small groups of under 4 after us but no more than 4 tables total even at 4:30pm. Besides the altercation at the start, this place is a gem for the price and size of the food. Tastes great and feels mostly great!
