This Hong Kong style cafe offers varieties of HK canteen food at very reasonable price ($20-$30 per person). The owner and the servers are also very friendly, efficiently serving us the things we need. It's a place I would revisit if I'm in the area. Recently, we had dinner here. We tried their beef brisket with rice, baked pork chop with rice, and Hawaiian mixed grill which includes veggies, fried egg, sausage, fish fillet, ham, pork chop and pineapples. All dishes are served in big portion. I liked the pork chop and beef brisket. Very flavourful and fresh. However, I didn't like the mixed grill so much. The fish fillet is frozen fish, the sausage also tastes old. Overall, this place offers great value for money.

Stopped by Cafe O Street on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, surrounded by plenty of local shops and restaurants along the strip. The vibe is very much a classic Hong Kong-style café. casual, cozy, and perfect for a quick comfort meal. They serve cha chaan teng-style comfort food at pretty reasonable prices. A couple highlights from my visit were the pork chop bun with fries and the French toast from the afternoon tea menu. The pork chop bun was juicy, flavorful, and super satisfying, while the French toast was absolutely delicious. crispy on the outside, fluffy and buttery inside. One thing to note: cold drinks come with an additional charge, which is typical for HK café sets. Overall, a solid spot when you're craving Hong Kong café classics in Richmond Hill.

We did some take out this weekend. It was really close by. The menu was really Hong Kong style. We ordered a Ginger Onion Oil with Chicken Cutlet on Instant Noodles and a Onions Corned Beef and Shrimp with Scrambled Egg on Rice. Both of them were good and tasty. Just the potion was a bit tiny. That's good enough for me as a girl. They were ready fast, we didn't wait for too long. The price was reasonable. We can definitely come back again, and should come back to try others.

A great local ran HK 茶餐厅 that takes a innovative spin on traditional recipes. As a full on carnivor the fried pork chops hot grill with black pepper or gravy is general my go to. The fried pork chops are always tender, with that typical light batter and crispy crust, but do NOT sleep on the veg and potatoe under which are often drowned in the sauce with a extremely crispy and caramalized side that was sitting directly on the hot pan. They recently introduced a haiwan maybe inspired hot plate with fried fish, pork chop, sausage and a golden fried egg. While the pork quantity did decrease the mix, and the egg made up and if you pop the yolk, it really ties the entire thing together.

As a fan of the traditional HK style cafe I was pleasantly surprised to see one in this part of Richmond Hill. Located in a strip mall that is north of Major Mac on Yonge Street the place is quite small and will get cramped. The menu consists of all the cha chan teng favourites ie: baked rice and baked pastas, noodle soups, curries etc., Most dishes come with the standard hot drink and the option of a cold drink with a small up charge. What is different is that you also get a bowl of soup (borscht) with the meal. What was ordered: Double cheese baked rice with chicken Double cheese baked spaghetti with bacon, mushroom cream sauce Beef rice with ginger, scallion and mushroom. The baked items were brought to the table in metal Ikea containers and bamboo/wood lids were used as the coasters. This will give you an idea of the portion size. Portions were decent and flavours were okay. Service was attentive. We would definitely come again to try some other items on the menu.

Ham & egg sando with HK milk tea

Overall rating: 3.5/5 (rounded down on Yelp) Heard a lot of buzz about this spot, so I decided to visit for some classic HK brekkie eats. The interior is definitely reminiscent of old-school HK cafes - even the dishware. I had a classic egg & ham sandwich, which was delicious. The egg was so fluffy and thick, and the bread was lightly toasted but still soft. I should have gone for the spam instead of ham, though - the thicker, saltier spam would have complemented the egg be Unfortunately, the HK milk tea was not approved by my taste buds. The tea was too weak, and I want HK milk tea with a punch of tea flavour balanced with the evaporated milk. Might come back to try their lunch/afternoon tea specials though!

We have been to this small store a couple of times. The food quality is being consistent, although the menu items are very similar to other HK cafe, no big difference and tastes almost the same as well. The service is very warm, make you feel at home. The deco is quite minimal. We go there when no time to cook.

Tried this fairly new Hong Kong cafe in Richmond Hill on a Sunday around noon and it was pretty packed! The staff were very attentive and fast to serve you tea, bring menus, and take your order. The menu is extensive and I love that the lunch and dinner menu has lots of options! I ordered the steak with black pepper sauce on rice ($16.99) from the lunch menu, and it came with a free soup and drink. The steak with black pepper sauce was really good. Loved how the steak was made, and the steak was pretty thick compared to other cafes. I'll definitely be coming back to try out the other dishes. Loved the decor and atmosphere of the cafe too.

Part A of combo - fried eggs, bacon and buttered bread

I was surprised this was here and it's next the. I only knew about the Newmarket location. The last time I went by, it was closed. They close on Wednesdays. Ambiance - 3.5/5: it was a small place, seats are tight. They only have 1 bathroom and it is technically accessible. I don't know how accessible because the corridor is tight with one side filled with storage items Service - 4.5/5: we got seated quickly, we looked at the menu and ordered. The food came out very quickly too. Food - 4/5: we got 2 breakfast combos - chicken cutlet on instant noodles and I paired it with iced lemon tea. We also got bacon, fried eggs and buttered white bread with satay beef in vermicelli which is a breakfast combo. We paired that with an iced milk tea. There is an extra charge for cold drinks. The food was good. The drinks were on the sweeter side. Overall: 4/5 - I would come back and try their lunch specials.

I love cha chan tang breakfast! The prices are definitely pricer than some other cha chan tangs and I would have enjoyed it more if it was toasted bread. Quite busy and loud for a Monday morning, but service and food was quick.

Service is good. They seated us quickly. The food also came out very quickly. They were courteous with us. They had 2-3 rounds of turnover in customers by the time we were done eating. 5/5 Ambiance - tight spaces. We were sitting close to each other. Although the washroom is big enough to accommodate people with disability, the corridor is too narrow to accommodate. One side of the corridor is storage. 3/5 Food was good and it was filling. Drinks were a little bit on the sweeter side even after jabbing through the lemon. Definitely cold enough with the ice. 4/5 Would come back to try out their lunch and dinner menu.

3.5/5 I've been to the Newmarket venue before and this is my first visit to Richmond Hill venue. Decor is a bit dated which fits the name 'Old' street. A small cozy cafe serving Hong Kong-styled Cha Chaan Teng food. Food prices are reasonable, foods taste authentic, service is on par; overall no surprise no disappointment. If we're around, we'll visit again.

Overall good taste, but the BBQ pork was a tad too sweet for me. I prefer Auric King's BBQ pork instead. The guy server was super nice and attentive. He asked for feedback and suggestions. We suggested an "all day meal" menu like the traditional hk cafe. The vibe is very 80s Hong Kong style. Very aesthetic, like Garden Cafe, who also does the same style. Check out my interior pics to see! Tables and bowls are a little sticky though lol. Overall, I might come back when they have an all day menu. I see most people ordering noodles, probably because the portions aren't as massive. As of right now, they have the white menu for non members, which is BOGO half off. Also, $30 for lifetime VIP.

I feel some restaurants tend to use pork that is not fresh for this dish to save a few bucks, particularly, because they thought the tomato sauce could cover up that taste. It was perhaps one of the best I've ever tasted in recent years, after visiting countless HK tea restaurants. The tomato sauce itself is perfect - sour and sweet in the best way possible. The pork chop? Excellent. Not only is it super fresh (unlike how it is sometimes served in other Hk tea restaurants), but the texture, the cut and the flavours are all perfect. The uniquely juicy thick cut was nicely coated in panko and cooked to crispy perfection. Every bite is a satisfying, pleasant surprise. While it is not the cheapest in town, it comes with a free drink (and the ice drink is the same price!) I will definitely come back often.
