I really don't want to leave this review, but I want other people to be informed before they visit here. I recently moved to this area and am looking for a nail salon I can frequent. I called to see if they had any open appointments for a dip mani/pedi. They told me to come in right then. When I got there I sat at one of the manicure stations. They brought a bowl (the size of a kitchen mixing bowl) for my pedi to the station at my left. This left me in a very uncomfortable position for the next 45 minutes as I had to twist to have my feet in the bowl to my left and my hands worked on from a different direction. I get pedis all the time. I paid for the Deluxe pedicure- but if there are 5 open massage chairs, why are we doing a pedi in a kitchen bowl? Very uncool. Both the mani and pedi people were nice enough. The manicure person used the electric drill to cut down my nails. This resulted in her DRILLING the end of one of my fingertips which hurt pretty bad. She noticed when I jumped from the pain, but didn't apologize. Everyone screws up sometimes but you DEFINITELY have to apologize. When she buffed the top of my dip nails she also buffed the skin on my fingers. 4 of my fingers are red from this. Obviously, this really burns and hurts. I also have dip powder stuck around my fingernails that wasn't removed which is pretty sloppy. When I checked out I was surprised that my mani/pedi was $80. It was awfully uncomfortable to be so expensive. I gave my mani person some cash and asked for her to break it into smaller bills and she pocketed it. I had to ask again for her to make change. So awkward. I saw Chrissy there. She seemed to know the regulars, but didn't ask me how my experience was or I would have told her. I'm really disappointed. read more

This is by far the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The nail technician took over an hour to do my nails and I was not satisfied whatsoever. I asked for a full set of dip powder with tips. She cut the nails way too short and did not put the dip powder all the way to my cuticles. My nails look grown out. I would not recommend this salon and I will not be going back. read more

This place is a complete joke. My husband bought me a $60 gift certificate, with cash, and they wrote an expiration date of one year on the GC. This was purchased about a month prior to COVID-19. So obviously I was not able to use this gift certificate for many months for health reasons and businesses being shut down due to the pandemic. I went in to use the gift certificate today, and intended to spend more than just the $60 for a full manicure and pedicure and was told it was no good and I'd have to pay $25 just to use the GC that was purchased with our own money. So $25 to use my own $60... all while 3-6 months out of the year the certificate was valid, most places were shut down for safety and health reasons. No grace period, no special circumstances just wanting to charge me money to use my own money. I will never step foot in this place again. read more

Went to get a regular shellac today with Ms. Lee. Let me tell you, she did an nail tech. I'm so happy with my nails. She was so nice and made me feel so comfortable. I would definitely recommend her and this establishment. She'll be seeing me a lot in the future. read more

So I decided to try out this shop due to the ratings.... Wrong move. Everyone is very nice here and this review has nothing to do with anyone's personality as much as skill set. I came in to get mani/pedi... Instead of motioning for me to sit in the chairs for my pedicure they point me to the nearest station and bring an old school pedicure bucket to start my pedicure... I was surprised but went with it since someone was going to do my nails at the same time. I asked for an acrylic overlay.. No tips.. Almond shape nails.. Nail tech then advised me I had to pay an additional $5 to shape my nails... So total for my nails would be $50... At this point I really don't think she understands what I want and I've never heard of paying extra to file my nails. I tell them never mind I don't want to get my nails done just finish pedicure since my feet are in the water. They then offered a chair for my pedicure but would continue the mani... Long story short the people are indeed very nice ... But this is not a nail shop I will try again. I ended up getting a basic shellac mani and called it a day. Nails had to get cut down, which I didn't want, because she wasn't shaping them properly and polishing wasn't really up to par .. A little messy.. If I'm paying the type of money they want for my fingers to be polished I expect a higher quality. Again everyone was friendly but I'm there for a service and looks like I'll still be on the hunt for a nail shop. I've posted a picture of mani and pedi so u can see close up of the work. I've been coming here for solar nails and pedicures for years. It's easy to make an appointment and they've never kept me waiting. As far as I've seen, they have little to no turnover, so I'm able to see the same person every time. I was a walk-in and only waited a few minutes. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant and calming. I had a few broken nails and the stylist did an amazing job putting tips on them. This shop was great! I got a shellac mani and deluxe pedi with regular polish. They did both at the same time while I sat in the massage chair, which was nice. The arms/hand massage and foot/leg massage would have been worth it alone. I felt so pampered and my skin is so soft. The ladies were very nice and listened to what I wanted. I just wish that they were closer to my house, because I was in a different part of town when I found them. I have been a customer here since the first week they opened so many years ago, I have been to several other places through the years and NO ONE does as good of a job as chrissys, from the way they do their nails to the AMAZING pedicures. I have seriously never had a pedicure better than at chrissys. They don't rush through you like SO many places do. This nail salon is a smaller and closer knit shop than so many big nail salons that are the rage these days. All of the same people have been working here for years. Every time I come back to chrissys to get my nails done or a pedicure, I wonder why I ever try any other place. It's the best and they take their time with and care about each of their customers. I was searching on the north side to get a pedicure and i called them to see how long a wait was. They said no waity and we went. Got there they told us they were heading home but since we called, they stayed for us! Amazing service, offered us a varity of drinks. And they used sterilize tools. I can't express the importance of fresh tools everytime for a pedicure. Will surely be back. read more

Want your money's worth? Then do NOT go here! Such and expensive nail salon, the women are rude and for a manicurel that should have taken 30-40 minutes, it lasted and hour and a half. I bled, and the women herself kept messing up my nails. The next day the Shellac polish chipped (also wasn't the color on the bottle). So I went to get them fixed two days later, luckily she saw how horrible the nails looked an re- did them for free. How long did that new polish last you ask? One day longer than the last time... I have had way better experiences in smaller salons where they are more personal and experienced. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. read more

Best place in and around Houston!!!! If you are looking for a set of nails that look natural come to Chrissy's!! My French shellac overlay is always thin and matches the shape of my nail, not clumpy and thick like so many I see. I am moving to Katy and work downtown so I have tried to find comparable salons but none of them ever come close to the expertise look and quality I get here! I have gone to Chrissy for 8 years now and will make the drive to keep going here because it's worth it!!! They are all very nice and always do their best to work with my schedule. Cindy, the manicurist performed well for some months, however in the last several months her attitude and service has gone downhill. I overlooked the continuous Vietnamese chatter between the manicurists from the beginning, even knowing that they spoke about some of their clients. There have been times I had to cancel or ten minutes late, but always call in advance. Cindy completely ignored me nor spoke to me the entire time she was doing my name. She did continue to show her anger chatting with the others. Visited last Friday and ask her for a white and pink or French manicure. She was almost entirely on her phone while doing my nails and did them hurriedly. Not cutting them down enough, the white covered a large portion of the nail, the pink was clear, finished with only one finishing coat and made me place both hands in the nail dryer which is made for one hand only. The drying time was shorter than usual and noticed she was waiting for another customer. Always tipped her well but decided it was her last one. I would drive back home from downtown to my moms place to go with her to get our nails & toes done. Well, about 2 weeks after i stopped going, both of my pinkey toe nails fell off and now my big toe nails are both splitting and near falling off. Worth the money if you get acrylics done here and are lucky enough to get the store owner herself, she does an amazing job. Fungus on my toes is a sad outcome you may get when coming here. read more

Chrissy operates a first class salon. I love walking in, being cordially greeted and, most importantly, getting a terrific fill. Any time I'm in Houston, she's my first and last stop! I just moved around the area where the salon is located so I walked in and said I needed a refill, once I was sat down the woman immediately grabbed my hands and said "what you want".. When I could not find a nice shellac color I asked to see the colored powders, the woman was very annoyed at this point. So once I picked out my powder color I thought why not treat myself to a pedicure, so I tell the woman, "lee" was her name, "I would like to also get a pedicure whenever someone is available",oh lord she started speaking Vietnamese a mile a minute! She was not happy! The funny part of this story is..my girlfriend is Vietnamese and she just so happened to be with me. She translated everything the women in the salon were saying. They were saying "the pedicure is regular 30 but charge her 45! Why didn't she say she wanted a pedicure in the first place! Make her wait...tell her she's gonna have to wait!" So my girlfriend says to the woman in Vietnamese "excuse me ma'am, lee is your name correct?" And the whole salon went DEAD SILENT. After that the woman apologized to my girlfriend but never to me... Actually she never apologized she just said in a joking voice "wow you heard our whole conversation without saying anything? How sneaky you are!" And so when the service was completed without saying a word and out of the kindness of my heart and knowing what comes around goes around, I tipped the woman and left. Never ever will I return to this place, and I will be contacting the owner/ operator of this establishment. read more
