These guys are a bunch of thieves. They will definitely take advantage of you. They sold me a delta shower cartage for $110. Delta shower cartages cost $20 to max $60 on line or elsewhere. After checking with my local neighborhood hardware store for a small plumbing part which they didn't have. I decided to search for the local plumbing supply store because stuff like this would take almost an hour at a Home Depot store. So I found Christ plumbing supply store and needed a quick brass 1/2" to 3/4" coupling for my garden hose valve. I quickly called in and told them I needed this part and they were closing in 5 mins. I quickly drove over in time and they got what I needed. I was in and out of their store in 1 minute. (Literally!) Went to Christ today because of positive Yelp reviews. I needed a fitting for a steam radiator. 100-year old house. I was hoping to be able to get just the smaller part I needed - a joining fitting between the shut off valve and the radiator inlet. The associate patiently explained why I needed the larger shut off valve with the fitting - each manufacturer makes them as a matched set, so I would not be able to marry the replacement fitting I needed to the original shut off valve still on the riser pipe. That made me feel okay about buying the matched set. And as a bonus the set was 25% cheaper than Home Depot price! Lately, stuff's been breaking down in our old homestead; so, to keep my spirits UP while I'm doing repairs, I look for appropriate songs. I ordered a bidet, and due to some space issues the supplied T-connector didn't have enough space to fit between the toilet, and water supply. I went to ACE to find a better fitting part, and then Home Depot. No luck at either place, and the employees were not very helpful. I'm not a plumber by any stretch, so I didn't really know the solution to the issue. When I went into Christ Plumbing the employee knew exactly what I was trying to do based on the part I was trying to replace. He explained to me an alternative solution, and demonstrated how to install the new parts. Went home, and in less than 15mins I was able to install my bidet with the new parts, and it's working flawlessly without leaks. Was recommended to Christ by my plumber as we were unable to get a Price Pfister shower cartridge / adapter from Ferguson (Blackman). Christ had it for $35 and before purchasing I asked the sales guy their return policy in case the part doesn't resolve the issue. To which Chris, the sales guy, confidently said that the part will work and if it doesn't you would've done something wrong and there are no returns on open items. Okay, sounded like he knew what he was talking about. The shower cartridge / adapter was an off market piece made by some Korean / Taiwanese manufacturer and was not the original manufacturer. Upon installation of shower cartridge / adapter water was leaking from the adapter and the part didn't resolve what it was purchased for. With the purchase done on a Saturday, the store was closed by the time my plumber installed the shower cartridge / adapter. Now, I had to make a trip to another plumbing store 30 miles out in Islip to get the required part which cost another $30 (cheaper, mind you). One would imagine if the store sold you a defective part they would have the decency to take back and refund you the money however Chris was a character in itself. He did offer to replace the defective off market piece with the original however refused to refund the money. I don't need the replacement part anymore since I purchased it from another store but the guy refused to budge on refunding the money in spite of the cause of the problem being his store selling an off market defective piece. Making $5 or $10 from a sale and not accepting returns for selling a defective part with no fault of a customer makes bad practice and will deter customers away. I had this problem with an aerator part for an imported Italian Bathroom faucet. I went to the big box stores and several plumbing supply stores. No one had it, but the last plumbing supply store told me to "try Christ they have everything." They had an aerator that fit and worked. Made my day, I have been looking for a long time. These guys are GREAT. Not only do they stock ages old plumbing parts, but they know everything there is to know about the parts. I had a situation with a 30 year old discontinued toilet, and they had every part I needed. Not only that, they sold me two seals to fix my problem, instead of selling me the costly entire valve assembly. Fixed, for $7, and will ALWAYS use them. Very trustworthy people. read more
