I brought my car in to get the AC fixed -- they charged me for an evaluation, which is supposed to mean they figure out what's wrong. After that, they told me it would cost $2,500 to fix the issue. I trusted them, paid it, and got my car back. ONE WEEK later, my AC is blowing hot air again. I bring it back, explain that I have a 2-year-old and need working AC in the middle of TEXAS SUMMER. You'd think they'd care -- instead, they call me back and say it'll be ANOTHER $700 for a compressor and they won't cover a single dollar of it. WHAT DID I EVEN PAY $2,500 FOR?! What was the point of an "evaluation" if they completely missed the problem? This is robbery, plain and simple. Either these techs have no clue what they're doing, or they're flat-out taking advantage of people. They had the chance to make it right and chose not to. That tells me everything I need to know. Avoid this place like the plague. They're incompetent, dishonest, and completely unaccountable. Don't let them screw you over like they did me. read more

Been taking my truck to Christian brothers in Allen since 2017. This is the first time I've taken it to this location and had problems with the company. No communication unless I called, they no longer offer to shuttle you. Dropped my truck off on a Tuesday afternoon, they diagnosed it Wendsday morning and they said it would be done by end of day or early Thursday morning. They also said they would call me with an update during the day. I called 20min before they closed and they said it would be done mid morning. Called the next morning at 9:30 they said it would be done before lunch time. Called at 12:45, they had just completed an oil pan replacement but they ran an error code but it would be done very soon. They called me at about 4 saying it was done. No communication or updates until it was done. This place is more expensive than other shops but the customer services makes up for that. Not this location. Will not be bringing it back to Christian brothers in general. Gave them two stars because my truck still runs and they topped off the air on my tires. read more

Took my car in for diagnostic, $180. They told me about 6 things I should fix for $5500. What about the reason I brought it in? $1700 and rude. Told them to pack it up and I'd come get it. They didn't close up ANYTHING just parked it by the office. Found out later they left the cap off the radiator, cover off the engine, fuse box open and I have no idea what else. Couldn't drive it until I found someone to work on it. Lesson is to read reviews not just ratings to avoid problems. read more

So ... these guys are NOT Sewell Lexus. They don't wash your car when they're done, there are no plush leather chairs to sit in while you wait. But they're a good, solid automotive repair company. CB Grapevine is the best one in the DFW. If they say they can fix it, they can. They'll do it asap. They'll do it for a fair price. Sometimes they have to source their parts, and they have no control over how long delivery takes. My Miata took them over a week to fix. 6 1/2 of those days were spent waiting on Mazda. I don't recommend this place. Your average mechanic should be able to source a NEW power steering line for a 2001 Mustang. I confirmed multiple manufactures still make NEW power steering lines. I also confirmed the local Autozone could get the part in a day. That is not the case with this place. If they cannot find an OEM part because it was discontinued they throw in the towel and suggest rebuilding a 20 year old power steering line with their "guy". They also charge a 140 inspection fee for an issue you already pointed out. I took the car to another local mechanic who had no issue finding NEW power steering lines and he didn't charge me an inspection fee. read more

So I called to get a quote to replace the radiator on my 06 Volvo XC90. In conversation the guy tells me how much he loves Volvo's but he didn't sound like he really knew much about them. He throws me a quote of about $1000 but struggled when I asked how much of that was parts and labor. He backed off and said labor was about $430. Doing the math, that's about $540 (leaving a bit for tax). I can buy the part for about $200 so that's one hell of a mark up. He seemed like he was pulling these prices out of his ass and I was trying to get some clarification when he told me "Before you get your PANTIES in a bunch". After a repulsive experience with CB Roanoke, I was hesitant to come here. I have a busy schedule and CB is the only place open at 7am. I tried out the Grapevine location for an annual inspection on the 2nd family car. I walked in and I was immediately welcomed. The men behind the counter were attentive and ready! Got everything sorted out quickly and said it would be 20-30 min. We walked in just after 7:20am and were out the door at 7:50am. These guys seem to be operating in a different universe than the Roanoke location. Super professional, polite, and straightforward! I brought my car in Monday because my lights were coming on but no power to start my car. The guy Mike had my car for 3 days telling me he can't find the issue day 1 , and he needs to do another test to see if it's the battery is problem. Each time they ran a test ( from my understanding) for my car it was showing the same thing but they wanted to make sure it was the battery .. each inspection was 80 dollars to find the problem . Come to find out on day 2 the battery was the issue at 5:40pm shop closers at 6 .. mike reached out to me saying i need I need new wires due to the battery and he will change that for free but I'll have to pay for the wiring of 70 dollars . Overall for just for a new battery 280 dollars plus the services and then charged me to take my battery out too if 54 dollars . Eveything came to roughly 525 dollars for a new battery . I personally felt like I was overly paying and was being scammed out due to what mike told me day 1 . If he would communicate with me saying he ran a test and he can't find the issue I would have took my car someon else for that amount of money I spent . while I picking up my car I was telling the guy Shawn white my problems of being overly paid and he took off 10% which was 42 dollars and It made my point valid . I was overly charged and shouldn't have went through that process . I do understand it's their business but for the name of Christian brothers I thought they would take good of care of me instead of taking me to hell . We have had minor maintenance and repairs completed here prior and feel the work quality was sufficient. Pricing is pretty expensive - no different than the dealership, just less busy. However, recently took our car here to test the wiper motor (which they had replaced a year ago) because wipers don't work. The guy said it would take a few hours to complete the inspection and wouldn't know for sure until they got in there. Well, we were already skeptical because the wipers shouldn't break down after one year as it doesn't rain that much out here, and wondered why the inspection quote was for 2 hours of labor when there's an eight minute U-Tube video regarding this? Needless to say, we took the car to Honduras in Irving who completed the inspection in under 45 minutes, ordered the required part, and set up the repair. read more

Do not take your car here. Their courtesy "safety" inspection is not a curiosity to you. I brought my car in on Thursday and my back tires blew on Sunday only to find out the tread was 1/32" and they grossly missed this. NO WHERE was this mentioned to me. People make mistakes but in discussion as to how this could be missed I discovered that if you want ANY routine service work that any dealership would normally and routinely do, you must specifically ask for it. Here is an example: They claim to check your brakes for safety right? Well if that was the case you would assume they take your tire off and thoroughly inspect/measure your brakes. This is not the case, they do a courtesy "flashlight/ruler" check. The technician will take a look at your brakes, measure them (not quite sure how), and decide if they need further attention. All of this is done without removing the tire. UNLESS you ask for a comprehensive brake check in which they will actually remove your tire and accurately measure/inspect your brakes. I bring my car in every 10,000 miles for service/oil change because my car uses synthetic oil. With this large of a mileage gap between services, my tires should be rotated without question. Unless you SPECIFICALLY ASK for them to rotate the tires it will not be done. Again the simple "Flashlight/ruler" check is all they think they need. These are two examples in which they missed "safety" checks which potentially led to my blow out. Had either of these checks been done appropriately they would have seen the metal wear bars clearly sticking out. The people that work there are extremely nice and I genuinely feel bad writing this but as the consumer, you need to know the type of care they put into your car. Get a call around 10am from the manager to tell me " Good to go!" I picked it up at lunch and it drives like it's brand new. I guess I had forgotten what a smooth ride is. Beware "free" alignment check scam Garage offers "free" alignment check with the purchase of new tires from discount tire. I made an appointment and showed up on time. The manager told me they were not busy and would have me in and out quickly. When I arrived, I asked them not to actually perform and alignment, just to perform the free alignment check that they offered, since I needed to wait until I got my paycheck. They acted very surprised and agreed. After 30 minutes the manager came out and told me "we are having trouble with the machine." They never even put my car on the lift. Complete scam. I guarantee they have never performed a "free" alignment check and NOT performed an alignment. And they want $79 for that. Not cheap. Stay away. read more

Everyone I came in contact with was genuinely friendly and the office was nice and clean.They were nice enough to give me a ride back home while I waited for my vehicle and picked me back up when it was ready. They are professional, upfront with information/recommendations, provided an excellent quote prior to the work, and completed it as expected. Although the repair was costly in terms of what needed done, Lisa went above and beyond to try to find the best prices on the parts for the repair and ended up saving me 20%/$500 on my repair. I had two other shops that I trust (live a thousand miles away from them now...) give me a quote and they confirmed the cost and said they couldn't do it as inexpensively as Christian Brothers could. I was offered courtesy transport after I dropped my car off and I called ahead and got picked up so I could get my car when it was finished. Let me preface this by saying that I own a 2005 Ford Mustang Saleen. THIS CAR IS MY CHILD! This is my third Mustang and my fifth car. Therefore, I've been through my fair share of body shops, mechanics, and I've even worked on a few minor projects of my own. My step-dad even owned and operated a body shop for over 25 years.... so I have a firm understanding of how certain blue collar businesses operate behind the scenes. I know when someone knows what they're talking about, when they're "winging it", and when they're going the extra mile to provide exceptional customer service. With that said, let's get into this place!!!!! Where to begin? Simply put, where can you go wrong when you have a faith-based business working on your car? If you really think about it, you can't! You know you're going to get honest feedback about your car.... Plus they have the Lord guiding their hands to fix your car! Seriously, I can't say enough good things about this place. I always have a great experience whenever I go to any Christian Brothers location. Let's talk about the Grapevine location in particular. A gentleman by the name of Blair King Walker assisted me with my car issues. He was extremely friendly over the phone. Had a certain type of personality where he was going to give you his time. He spoke with me for well over five minutes the day before I brought my car in. He talked to me about all the possible issues that my car could have. Although I couldn't make it in the first day I spoke with him (by phone), I knew I was going to make it in the next day. The next morning, I was there at 7:00AM. Blair was there to greet me with a smile and a handshake. He knew it was me because he remembered my car from our phone conversation. He immediately knew what needed to be written up. He even dropped me off at my job- a short distance away. It wasn't a quiet and awkward ride to the shop. Blair was full of conversation the entire time. Before he dropped me off, he even offered to pick up anything I may have needed at the local QuickTrip gas station! Of course I declined but I thought that was very considerate. A few hours later, he called me to follow up on the issue. He also quoted a price that I would expect to pay- with tax. Keep in mind that today is an extremely bad day for weather. We had a threat of hail and possible tornadoes throughout the day. So you can imagine my concern if my car would be left outside or if it wasn't fixed before day's end. Again, Blair and Christian Brothers eliminated any doubts and concerns that I may have had. At about 3:00PM, Blair called to tell me that my car was fixed. Once again, he drove to my job to pick me up. Being a fellow Mustang enthusiast, he made sure that my car was protected from the little hail that we did get throughout the day. I paid for my car and picked it up. No more issues with my alternator! I had to run to my computer and Yelp about my experience! It was just an overall friendly and pleasant experience.
