If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This is the worst place I have ever been to. I came in asking for an oil change and left with a leaking car and once I got home my engine was in ruin. I have (had) a 2011 Mini Cooper that I have only had for a year, it was new and never had a problem with it. I recently started my new job in Colleyville which is only a couple of minutes away from Southlake. On my way home a light in my car notified me that I needed an oil change, for the sake of not driving my car without any oil, I searched up on google the nearest car shop and that is when I found Drivers Edge. I went in and was greeted by whom I know now to be the manager, Steven. I told him I needed an oil change and he made me fill out a form with my name and address and asked for my keys, said it would be around 30 minutes or so. 25 minutes pass by and he notifies me that my car has a leak. Mind this, I drive my car a lot from college, to work then home every single day which makes me have to get oil changes and allows me to get check ups pretty regularly to make sure my car is in good conditions and never once have I heard about this leak from any other mechanic. He then proceeds to tell me to leave my car there over night so he can have another mechanic look at it the following morning. I quickly said no and asked for him to go ahead and give me the oil change anyway so that I can make it to a shop closer to home. He said okay and left outside with my car for another 20-25 minutes. Once he comes in he informs me that the oil change is done and as I was getting ready to pay he says that it will be no charge. Really?! I say, No charge?! How nice of them to just hand out free oil changes.. everything was feeling pretty strange and fishy already. I make my way home and once I am pulling in my car into the driveway it starts making weird noises. I ask my family member to take a look at it and once he opens the hood the first thing he sees is that there was tons and tons of oil that was gushing from the seal that THEY DIDN'T TIGHTEN when giving me the "oil change". We call a friend of ours who is a mechanic to come check it out at home and he informs us that somebody tampered with the car and that the only reason my car was gushing and dripping oil was because the seal was not tighten after receiving my so called oil change. I was furious and the next day we called a toe truck since I didn't want to drive my car any longer, afraid of what was going to happen. We took the car to a shop where the mechanic told us the exact same thing, that the car had been tampered with and that hadn't been for the carelessness of the person giving me the oil change nothing would of happened to my car. Immediately I call Drivers Edge and ask to speak to the manager, I inform Steven what the other mechanics had told me and all he said was that they DIDN'T give my car an oil change (after all) but they only TOPPED the oil it already had. I have been dealing with this issue for about 3 weeks now and they have informed me my car needs a whole new engine. I am FURIOUS. This afternoon I called Driver's Edge once more and asked for corporates number, Steve put me on hold and gave me a number that when I call says it's UNAVAILABLE. I quickly called back and this time "Brandon" picked up the phone, I told him that they gave me the wrong number for corporate and he said the manager wasn't available so he couldn't give it to me. (I don't know how if I had just spoke to Steven moments ago.) Long story short is that this place has a law suit coming and I would like for everybody to know what hell their bad work has caused. If you want your car to be tampered with and lied to about the conditions of your car this is the place to go!! A couple of weeks ago I went in for an oil change and after about 30 minutes of waiting for it to be done, one of the employees lets me know that my car should be left in the shop over night because of some leak and "it won't be drivable for much longer" if I don't get it fixed. I thought this was impossible since I have my car checked pretty regularly, and up till this point I had never had an issue like this with my car. I also don't have another way of getting home so I tell him I rather take it home and have someone else take a look at it. I get ready to pay and the employee tells me its "free" I get a little suspicious, because that's not usual with an oil change. On my way home my car starts to make a strange noise (mind you I have my car checked regularly because I do drive it long distances in my day to day life). After I get home I have my stepdad take a look since the "mechanic" brought up a leak and the weird noise my car was all of a sudden making. He discovered oil spilled all over my engine!! I am instantly filled with anger! This is a new mini cooper sport we are dealing with! Parts for this car are expensive, and I had not foreseen making any repairs this big on my car. I call the next day and they have the audacity to tell me they have no recollection of me or my car being there the previous afternoon. As I try to figure out how I'm going to get my car fixed and exactly what is wrong with it, I call the establishment again to ask for corporates number I am given a fake that is out of service! This is outrageous and they will be receiving a law suit pretty soon with all of the bad work that they have done. It is unfair and illegal to tamper with someone else's vehicle to make more money in hopes that you will allow them to fix something that isn't even wrong with your car! All in all this "free" oil change has costed me around $4,000 fixing my car. Which I could've used for my college tuition this fall. For you and your car's sake do not give your hard earned money to this phony excuse for an auto shop :) read more

Do not come here. I dropped my car off to get an inspection about 20 minutes later they call me to tell me it needs almost $3,000 worth of repairs in order to pass inspection. As Madi stated, "a massive leak in the power steering fluid...and your rack and pinion need replacement." I asked if she knew when my car would be ready if so chose for them to repair. She said the same day, next morning at the latest. That is a miracle in itself in car mechanic world. I declined and picked up my car. Madi "accidentally" deleted my ticket and quickly made a new one for my car. I saw her deleting and adding zeros for the information of stats for my car like tire pressure etc. She also selected rack and pinion on the service list and it came up as $200.00 something. She deleted and changed it to $700.00 something. I paid $25 for what, I'm not sure, since my car never failed an actual inspection and I was not given a failed report either. I took my car elsewhere and it passed inspection in 10 minutes. read more

I do not recommend them at all. To be clear, I'm talking about the Driver' Edge in Mansfield, TX. Every time (2x) I've taken my car to them, they've always come back with a higher price than was quoted. Recently (the last time) I took my car to them. They quoted me a price more than twice the amount of other estimates I received. So, I declined their service. But here's the kicker. When I did not get the work done there, I drove down the road and took my car to another shop, a national chain. The head mechanic at this shop asked who had worked on my car previously. I told them, "Driver's Edge" and asked why. He said because my engine vacuum hose was left disconnected. So, best case scenario...Driver's Edge was purely incompetent. Worst case scenarios...Driver's Edge was intentionally trying to damage my car to get me back in their shop, after I declined to get my car serviced there. I don't know which case it was, but I know I will never go back. I do not trust them. read more

I had a great experience here for an oil change. It was the only place open after 6 on a Friday night and the gentlemen there were very respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The facility itself was very clean and well supplied with coffee and chairs. I was in and out quickly and provided with a report on the condition of my car (I just had $2100 worth of repairs so there shouldn't be any problems). I never get pressured to sign off on any unnecessary procedures and felt very comfortable asking questions to the staff members. I am very satisfied with this establishment and will gladly return in the future. read more

I grew up working on cars but don't have the time to do so nowadays. So when my daughter's transmission was going out on her Accord so I told her to take it to the shop. She took it to Drivers Edge and they told her it was the clutch which they replaced for $1200 (I believe). Two weeks later, the "new" clutch goes out so she takes it back. They "fix" it again and it goes out a month later. She takes it back in and they tell her it's not the clutch, it's the transmission and want another $2K+. A year later, I take my 01 MDX in and ask them to replace my PS pump as it's leaking like a sieve. They call back and say the pump is fine, but my head gasket and pressure hose need to be replaced...$500 each! I'm out of town so I tell them to fix it. I pick up my car, take it home, and the PS pump is leaking as much as it was before. I take it back in and now they tell me the PS pump needs to be replaced and quote me $1700! To top it off, they say they need to realign the car once they're done based on how they have to remove the pump. I took my car here to get the oil changed and they included a quote that I didn't ask for for new brake pads and Roters for 1200.00. I took my car to my mechanic and they said my pads and roters are completely fine and did not need replacing. Not even close. They said I still had 50% on front and 75% on back. Drivers edge said I only had 10% on front and 20% on back and roters were worn down. So scary to think some people might just believe them and have unnecessary work done.
