We were impressed by the professionalism at Christian's Automotive, and we're happy with the service we got. A retired mechanic friend recommended Christian's on Second for the 100k-mile service of my wife's car. My sister (in the business in another state) and my retired mechanic friend gave me an idea of what services should be included, what might be a good idea to check on and what to watch out for. Christian's had no problem giving me a quote on the phone when I called, and their list of recommended services were essentially identical to those given my my friend and sister. Further, they took the attitude of "Hey, let's wait and see what your vehicle looks like" regarding the optional ones to check-on. The quote was notably lower than the dealer's, by the way, and the process of _getting_ the quote and my conversation with the service rep at Christian's were SO much more confidence-inspiring. So, we made an appointment. Dropped it off - totally friendly. Within minutes I had a text with a pdf of a quote requesting work authorization. (This text also included hotlinks to videos explaining the various services.) I signed the pdf and Christian's started work right away. I got a couple more texts with additional info - things noted during the inpection along with recommendations and photographs supporting the recommendations. (Totally professional and totally efficient: I was able to review and approve these addenda while waiting for my connecting flight in another state.) I'd note that the recommendations were not always, "This needs to be done NOW" - one was, but one was "This should be done soon but is not crucial" and the third was "This is something to keep an eye on; we can replace it if you want, but I'd recommend you just leave it as is right now." Anyhow, the work was done on time and apparently the right way, and it was within the price quoted. Picking-up the car was a pleasant breeze (although I kicked myself for not grabbing a cup of coffee in the pleasant Christian's waiting area) and away we went - looks like we've got a new mechanic as the first to call for my wife's car. I've been bringing my Fiat here for I think about 7 years. They are one of the only mechanics in Albuquerque who will even work on a Fiat and I feel grateful that they are so good! Yes, sometimes it's been expensive, but that's just the cost of owning a car. I feel like they are very honest and fair and take good care of me. I've had them bend over backwards to get something fixed quickly when I was in a hurry, they've given me a ride home when going to take longer than a day to fix my car, and one time when something they repaired failed, they did not hesitate to pay to have my car towed back to them for free and repaired it immediately, all under warranty. It's never fun to have to get your car fixed, but it's a good feeling read more

Christian's is my mechanic and I'm happy to recommend them. Along with my oil change, they always do a safety inspection check to make sure there's nothing going on with your vehicle that may endanger you. They do not make a necessary recommendations, which is the part I like the most. I feel like I can trust them and know that if they're recommending some thing, my vehicle truly does need it. The customer service is also great. They explain everything very well and if they have props they'll even show you what they're talking about. It's nice to know that I can plan ahead for some of the more expensive repairs instead of having them fall in my lap. These guys will not try and upsell you when you get a oil change. The only recommend what you truly need. This is particularly important for those of us who are not mechanics. It's nice to have knowledgeable and friendly staff who are not creepy or looking to rip you off. Christian even follows up with a text to make sure everything went well and you were pleased with the work they did on your vehicle. They may do well with small issues but with more involved repairs i've left unhappy. To start, I have dropped a vehicle off 6 or so times in the past 3 yrs. 2-3 times i've had to pick it up a day later with no working having been done. They overbook the bays. My biggest complaint is having an oil leek that ended up costing 3 trips and $1800. Each time they attempted to fix the issue with no success. Simply a drain plug leak. read more

Have had multiple problems here. We took our car here over a year ago when our engine needed to be rebuilt, the only thing they said was that it wasnt worth it to pay to rebuild an engine and told us they had a friend who would buy our truck from us! Ridiculous, got our engine rebuilt elsewhere at a way cheaper price then originally quoted. This year our truck broke down, road assistance guy told us it is the gas pump so, we had it towed to Christian's again for them to tell us what we already knew about the gas pump and quoted us. This is the last time we will ever go to Christian's. Don't waste your time on these people who don't care about anything but money! They dont care about you or your vehicle. read more

I will keep this simple. Christian has serviced my old junker 1985 Dodge pickup, my 1995 Jaguar Xj my 2017 Jaguar Xjr and now my 2019 Jaguar Xjr. My luck hasn't been the greatest lately, seems I'm getting tested and although it gets tough at times I have to keep the faith. So when I plugged my phone into my car charger the other day and blew a fuse I took it as another test. I wasn't able to listen to music, charge my phone or even see my car clock. UGH! It's those little things that you take for granted. Well after a long day at work I managed to get through the traffic and arrive a Christian's at 5:32. They close at 5:30 so I wasn't really expecting the door to be open but they saw me parking and let me in anyway. I apologized for coming in after closing and explained that I was in need of a 15 amp fuse for my Toyota, they didn't flinch but rather walked over to a cabinet then handed me the fuse I needed, free of charge. Thank you so much for showing a little kindness and helping a gal in her time of need. I swapped out the fuse and sang along with the radio on my way home, it's the little things folks. read more

***WARNING*** STAY AWAY This is the last time I take my car to Christian's. It was fine when I'd go for a simple oil and lube but when I need more serious repairs they come up short. Most recently I took a used car in that needed some service and they couldn't successfully accomplish all tasks. They made one of them worse. I recently took a used car I just bought for them to inspect. I let them know it had some smoke coming out of the tailpipe. They did many services including timing belt change and new tires. When I received the car back, smoke was still coming out of the tailpipe. They checked it again and said it was an oil leak. Did they try to keep this information from me so that I had to pay for the other services? Even if they didn't discover the leak before, they should have listened to my observation about the smoke, and tested the car after the oil change BEFORE performing the other services. This is exactly what I try to avoid when choosing a mechanic My uncle wasn't happy with them either. read more

Took my car in to change the front wheel hub. They wound up running diagnostics, changing sensors, charged me $231 and never even looked at the wheel. Although they never looked at the wheel their diagnosis was correct. Took it elsewhere and got it repaired. read more

Went to this shop because I thought they would take care of my sports cars alignment without having to pay dealer prices but instead their 19 year old is out front slamming on my gas peddle and then the dealer tells me the didn't even do the alignment! Mediocre people with very poor management. If you like your car running excellent I would advise to choose a better shop. read more

Christian's Automotive is the best experience i've ever had with a mechanic. I was driving from Flagstaff to Colorado on a bit of a time crunch and along the way my engine started acting funny. I pulled over at a mechanic shop somewhere in Arizona and they told me my engine was fine, so I got back on the road. The problem only worsened and become more frequent. I decided to stop in Albuquerque for the night. Every mechanic I called in the city said they would not be able to get to my car within a week - everyone except Christian's. They got me in the very next morning, diagnosed the problem, waited patiently with me while we waited for the part to come in, bought me lunch, and made sure that they got me on the road the very next night meaning I could make it to my sister's high school graduation. I was a stranded traveler and they went out of their way to take care of me and make me welcome. I have been using Christian's for 20 years and 3 cars and I wouldn't consider going to anyone else, except in an emergency. I keep my cars until they aren't running anymore, so there has been lots of maintenance over the years. They have always recommended work that needed to be done and tell me about things that can wait. I never feel pressured to do work. There have been times when there have been tough issues that no one (not the automaker, dealer, or specialized independent shops in my maker) seemed to know what was causing the issue and Christians stayed working on the issue until they found a solution and the cost was just the standard diagnostic cost. they even sent me to other mechanics to confirm their diagnostics when they were unsure. I have not an issue trusting that my car will be fixed without any padding or unneeded work, at a fair price and with great service, always with a smile. I feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful car hospital. read more
