I walked in with long almond shaped nails and I asked the nail tech to shorten them. She asked me if I wanted round and I said no- same shape but shorter... Then she proceeded to chop off my thumb nail.. I had to keep checking if my nails were the same length. At the end of the manicure some of my nails were shaped differently. the worst nail experience I've had in the city. I paid over $85 for a pedicure and a dip manicure, and all of my nail polish fell off within 48 hours of getting the manicure. I would've gone back to get it fixed or asked for a full refund but I got these done for a bachelorette trip and didn't have any time. They clearly missed a step in the dip manicure since the polish came off in one piece. My pedicure is also streaky and poorly done. This nail salon is tiny and they overcommitted themselves - I called ahead to make an appointment but still had to wait for around 30 mins mid manicure for the woman to finish putting on my dip. I was at the salon for 2 full hours, and while there several people came in to complain about manicures they recently got that were already ruined. They were rushed and trying to see as many people as possible and it was just a bad experience from start to finish. read more

To start, I just want to say I hate getting my nails done. I have really thin nails so filing my nails down is sometimes very uncomfortable and even painful. I usually dread going. However, this nail salon is one I don't mind visiting. While the experience still hurts a bit just by nature of how sensitive my hands are, the experience is always quick and gentle. All of the women who work there are wonderful. I almost fall asleep every time I go because of how relaxed I am. The music is quiet and nice, the ladies in there are respectful and it's always warm and cozy. On top of that, it's affordable, which I find is rare for such a good nail job. I work a very hands on job at a restaurant and my nails last here 3-4 weeks EASILY. I had to wait an hour past my appointment time and it was clear everyone in the building was stressed but also taking every walk in possible. The person who did my manicure on 8/28/23 was clearly not comfortable with a gel x manicure. She did not allow the nails to cure individually when she applied them and also did not make sure they were cured during polishing as the light rhythmically blinked (rather than be on consistently) and she said it was normal. I got an entirely different shape and style than I had asked for(I asked for short coffin with modified French tip and got car claws with entire French tip.) I was shuffled between three different techs. Multiple nails were crooked and they started popping off after 5 days with no reason, so many that the manicure was no longer salvageable . I had to go redo my manicure at another salon as I purposely got these for a trip, costing me money to remove all tips and do a normal manicure on my ruined by. nails. Salon refused to help when I called. I could come physically back into the salon (I was out of town leaving for the airport the next morning) or wait for the owner to come back. She was supposed to call me. She didn't. The multiple times I called trying to at least speak with her was met with "oh she's not here. " They used to be my go to salon. Not sure how come this place has so high ratings. I did powder dip and it lasted less than a week. And they fixed a nail for free, but the next day couple more cracked. So not even 10 days, when my friend gets her powder dip for 3 weeks + Also massage was horrible. She used some kind of plastic bag to massage and also she kept scratching instead of massaging. I forgot to put the tip on the card so I gave cash to the lady who did my manicure. She yelled (!) at me saying that's not enough for two. So I left all my cash with her. I paid $25 for a one day manicure - it didn't even last a full 24 hours (see photo). It's $17 for the mani and an additional $8 for the French. It was my first time here, and when I went back a couple of days later to request they fix it, Christie refused to and was incredibly rude to me about it. She said top coats look bad so she doesn't do a top coat on manis. I've never heard that before, and proves why it started chipping within hours. Seriously at this point any decent salon would have just offered a discounted polish change or quick correction. It sounds like all of these good reviews are for specialty services like UV gel and that they're encouraged to write reviews (reviews below say that she made them write it) - seems like they suck at the basic mani pedi process. And they suck at being decent to customers. And they questionably don't believe in top coats. Just spend the money on a new OPI color, new top coat bottle, a quick dry oil, and a cuticle nipper - that'll cost less than $25 and you won't be this frustrated. read more

Yesterday was my second time there. First visit was not great, but okay. At least that time I left with all my nails in okay condition! Yesterday was total nightmare from the beginning!!! Lady was trying to take my gel polish off so hard using her METAL tool (soaking took not more than 2 mins) that I was feeling PERMANENT PAIN during the whole process. After like 15 mins of "execution" I was left with already really damaged nails. But it wasn't enough for my nail "master"! Then she took her super coarse file and started using it on top of all of my nails putting all her strength and effort in the process. Did my natural nails survive after that? Well, they are as thin as paper sheets now and it hurts when I try to touch them. Oh, and its a second day of my manicure and gel is already cracking. About the different shape and length of my nails I won't even say anything, I will just attach a picture. It seems to me that girls who were working there yesterday were doing manicure to someone else first time in their lifes. They are definitely not professional masters! The owner of the place came and had to fix what "master" did with nails of the girl who was sitting next to me. This is insane to charge people money for such quality of service!! If you need to teach people how to do manicures, you have to hire models who are ready to sacrifice their nails!! You can't use your customers for that!!!! I regret that I stayed till the end of my manicure and didn't leave right after seeing and feeling how my "master" was taking my gel polish off. I won't be able to do gel manicure for the next few months now while my nails are so weak and thin. Also I will have to spend extra money to help them recover - all thanks to this nail salon! So many great reviews but it seems like that's only if you get to see Christie herself. The technician who worked on my nails was very nice and personable but did a pretty terrible job on my powder dip nails. They came out so uneven, thick and sloppy (grainy even) that I'm considering already taking them off after a day. Desperate for a gel mani I decided to check out this place. It was cozy, nicely decorated and the technician was really nice! I hate to give this place two stars, but I have to say that this place could use some improvements. The space is located in a basement, so the ceilings are low and there is a limited amount of room - make sure to duck! Also - this place prefers cash tips (which probably needs to be said upon arrival). While I was greeted very warmly and taken care of immediately, I'm not sure if this place takes as much diligent care to sanitize and provide new files to every customer. I went in to get a gel manicure ($32) which I have to say is not the worst price I've paid, but I've gotten better gel manicures for less. First - the nail polish selection is great - they have a wide variety and many brands to choose from. I chose the color and the technician began my manicure. She first asked me if I wanted my nails square - which I said yes. She proceeded to provide a rounded nail shape instead. Which for me - isn't the biggest deal, but why bother asking? (The clippers and files she used were not new and definitely didn't come from a sanitized place.) As she proceeded to do my nails, she didn't do the best job on my cuticles and didn't ask if I wanted them cut or not - which she did cut them. I sort of wish I had told her to stop, but it was too late. I didn't see anything come from a sanitized bag of any sort. She also didn't sanitize them in front of me which made me a little nervous. But at this point, I have come to far and the manicure was well into the process. Upon completion of the cutting/ filing, etc. the actual application was fine, but again - not the best. I got my Gel Manicure done on a Tuesday, by Friday I had 3 nails that we half covered. Overall - I don't believe I will be going back. The tools and files used need to be sanitized and customers need to see that happen. Although, I will say that the actual customer service was great and everyone was really pleasant and nice.
