Service has gone way down. If you opt for a "regular" pedicure they seem annoyed. I shaped my own toenails! The tech was annoyed I asked for a natural shape, and handed me the clippers, insane! Very nice people, however this powder manicure is only 2 weeks old. Not to mention, I've been back to the salon twice in those 2 weeks to fix cracked and broken nails. I live a block away from Crystal Nails so they are my go-to in the area. All of the technicians are absolutely lovely and professional. The owner is the sweetest woman and always willing to help wherever needed! Really enjoy talking with her. That aside, I typically get my gel manicure done every two weeks and pedicure about once a month. Prices are super reasonable, I get the gel mani/regular pedi special for $50 (plus tip!). Also, I usually opt for a quick 10 minute massage while I wait for the old polish to soak and come off. They always give great massages! Overpriced and basic service . I honestly could have done a better job myself. I paid over 90$ for a mani /pedi eyebrow wax and lash tint ... I don't mind to pay but literally nothing looks different from when I came in . My brows have no shape my nails look messy and they did not clean any of my cuticles well. I spent almost 3 hours in the shop and it wasn't even busy . The lady blatantly asked me to put a tip on my card. The one guy that I seen working there was very nice though that's about it. I really enjoy coming to this place. It's right across the street from my apartment, so the convenience factor is high, but it earns its stars for super friendly staff and consistently quality service. I've never been disappointed walking out. One time, the color I chose was very sheer, and the nail tech made sure it was what I intended. It wasn't, exactly, but I went with it and she did a great job of making it look clean and pretty, so I ended up being very happy with the result. Another time, I accidentally hit my toe on the dryer and did a number on the fresh pedi. She had no problem completely redoing the entire nail at no extra cost. They're fast but they all do a great job. Their gel mani plus regular pedi special for $50 is a serious steal. There are nail salons on every block on 1st Ave but I always come back here! read more

My friend and I went in to get mani/pedis. They were busy, so we didn't mind waiting.They sat us down to have our manicures first, and kept starting and stopping to collect payment from customers, to answer the phone, whatever it was. It was choppy from start to finish - they seemed very busy doing everything other than my mani/pedi. One girl did the mani and then handed me off to the other girl to do the pedi - which meant I had to tip twice, because I paid the first girl for both and tipped her accordingly. I also question the cleanliness of the place, because none of the implements used went anywhere near an autoclave. They never washed out the foot basins or wiped down the seat after someone was done getting a pedi. The scrubbers used for the bottom of the feet were rinsed off in the sink and laid on a radiator grill to dry (I kid you not). I'm not sure I would come back. It wasn't a relaxing experience, and it wasn't clean enough for my tastes. If I had gotten the pedi first, I might not have stayed for the manicure... read more

DONT TRY THIS PLACE! I had such a bad experience at this salon. First time I went there was today, asked for ombré nails but they don't do it so I decided to get gel powder nails. I love the color but the lady who did my nails didn't listen to me when I said what shape I wanted my nails and also more than 3 times I told her that my nails looked different from one hand to the other. Left hand was longer than the right. I paid because I spent 1hr 30m trying to show her the difference and I just wanted to get out of there. This lady just kept saying to me that my nails had naturally a "different shape". Definitely was a waste of my time and money. Never going back there. read more

I've been coming to this salon since I moved to the neighborhood twelve years ago. I'm always greeted warmly by the staff and management and the service has always been excellent. Over the years, I've had many many manicures (regular and gel), pedicures, back and foot massages there and I am now spoiled for any other place I go. I've tried other salons (I walk past three others to get there), both local and when traveling, and they never compare. While the appearance of the salon is no frills, no matter which technician I've seen, my nails always look perfect when I leave. I have also had many great back and foot rubs there. I have worked as a nurse for the past 12 plus years and taking good care of your feet is vital in a profession where you stand on them for 12 hours a day. My friends at Crystal have kept my feet healthy and nothing feels better after several shifts in a row then having them pamper my feet and legs. Go there! read more

Worst manicure ever. I went here three times and each time, it was terrible. The polish was bumpy, streaky, and uneven. The workers also kept messing up the polish themselves by touching it. One of the workers was painting my nails, when suddenly some other client came over and she completely left me for her with only three of my nails painted. read more
