When we arrived and looked in the window of this small storefront restaurant, we noticed that there was no one inside. It was 7:30 p.m. on a Friday. If we hadn't had a Groupon, we probably wouldn't have gone in. We went in and sat down and were greeted by an energetic lady who came up to us and announced that when we're here we're like family and she'd be our mother and take good care of us. We them proceeded to order. When my wife said all she wanted was a gyro sandwich but all that was on the menu was an overpriced gyro platter for $18 she was told that they would make a sandwich but that they would still charge $18 - no substitutions. My wife then said she just wanted a little extra tzatziki sauce in place of the French fries the waitress, Christina, the owner, said that she could only do that by charging an extra dollar because "that costs money". At this point I knew that she wasn't acting like my mother. When the food came, the salad was watery and the gyro had no taste. To be fair, the lemon rice soup was very good. So, if you want to buy this Groupon, I suggest you go elsewhere. The place is little more than a diner whose prices are very high and whose food is diner quality. read more

If my mother were Greek, she wouldn't cook as well as Christina. The Mediterranean seafood is excellent. I had the Sea bass in a white lemon mushroom sauce with rice pilaf. She had the village salad with gyro meat. Both were excellent. For dessert we had a blueberry tart that was great. Come try the new location. Very open atmosphere with a new kitchen where you hear your meal being prepared. I love a clean restaurant. This isn't fast food, but good food never is. read more

Our table ordered the calamari appetizer. sea bass special, spinach ravioli, lobster ravioli, and the gyro platter. We had the chocolate cake and baklava for dessert, and the baklava was great. This is going to not be a very nice review. She is way way over priced for a strip mall restaurant. She must think her food is fantastic but if it is above average than that's being gracious. My wife and I both ordered the same dish at $20 for chicken. My wife requested vegetables instead of the mound of generic "home made" rice. No one cubes carrots like a bag of frozen or canned. If this was homemade her home must be located in Uncle Bens. She wanted to charge $3.00 for spinach. A bad costs $1.50. Plus we were not taking the Uncle Bens. Our salads that were again supposed to be fresh were overdressed with a bland dressing and we both asked for no feta. This should not have been hard to recall as we were the only other table in there. It is not your typical Greek salad but romaine and iceberg lettuce. Blah Chicken had zero taste. Not a drop of spice. She claims that she moved into a space because that restaurant was closed for dinner. It happens to be her husbands gyro shop. You are there because your food is terrible and no one wants to eat there. The cap of the evening was that the owner who was our waitress added a tip onto the check. NASTY! HORRIBLE! Had a Long white hair IN my mouth from the home fries potatoes! (They did Nothing to rectify it & no manager came) As well as my over medium eggs were well done. (Couldn't dip in my toast) Father in aws omelette was supposed to be soft, came out well done. And my wife's Twilight Burrito had nothing in it that was supposed to be in it. Completely Horrible experience. I will NEVER come back even if it was free! Cozy place, great food. We'll be back, however lesson learned. They had a bottle of Greek red on the table on special for $10 off. I looked at the menu and saw a bottle of Greek red, same name for $36. We get the bill and they are charging us $40, original price $50. I don't order wine at that price. The server had told us the "special" wine was not on the menu. It was her first day., so I figured she was confused. We called out the owner on this. She brings a bottle of the $36 bottle, and shows us how it's different. Like we should of know. Very tacky. She got very defensive, and loud. Also don't bother with Groupon, or Restaurant.com. I went here with my family for dinner and everything about the Restaraunt was great until the end we got are bill it is way over priced and not that great! And it takes forever for her to make. Then she's extremely rude to the employees. We got desert and closed out are bill and left the server a great tip. The lady then came out and asked if we wanted coffee. We said sure . She's makes it. Then send the poor server over to give us a bill for 6 dollars when we all thought it was on the house. We say something and she walks away we then ask the server to go ask her. wow this place has gone downhill so quickly since its moved. Won't honor groupons according to terms and conditions. After they wouldn't honor the groupon we said we wouldn't leave a tip and the short chubby lady screamed you should be ashamed and told me how old she was and how much she depended on tips(she was not our server at any point during the night and our actual server was average and never topped up wines or asked how anything was). We have both been to Greece multiple times and find the new menu not as good as it used to be, before the move After her outburst i realized she must be in a bad place financially and grabbed my wallet out and asked if i could give her $5-$10?. She said loudly keep your money and continued screaming 'you should be ashamed, we rely on these tips'. I see this place going bankrupt very soon. Do not know what happened to the lovely man that used to work here before it moved recently. I offered cash as a tip and she turned it down. First time at Christina's today and can not say enough great things!! As soon as I walked in I felt beyond welcomed and at home, by Christina herself. She gave me the entire run down of how they started where they have been and why and how they love bringing people the best food I have found in the area. With all the fast food places around it is nice to have home cooked real amazing food right in Pompano. The best gyro and fries I have had thus far!! The best Greek restaurant in south Florida bar none. I was devastated when I saw a different restaurant in her old location, thinking Christina had gone back to Greece. Thank God I found her new location with my favorite saganaki, spanakopita, and her other amazingly authentic home cooking. She and her great staff make you feel like family while they take superb care of you. I haven't had Greek food this good since my last trip to Athens. I went to the newly reopened Christinas Grill and it not only met but exceeded my expectations. When you walk in you're greeted by a decor that makes you literally feel like you're sitting in Greece. Its a beautiful restaurant with 7 tables and a wait staff that makes you feel like family. The kitchen is open at the top so as i was enjoying my appetizer i could smell all the fresh herbs and spices she was using. Christina herself is from Greece and takes great pride in her food cooking everything from scratch made to order. My entree was right on time after my salad, served so hot it was steaming and a smell so intoxicating i knew it was authentic Greek food. I give it 5 stars and plan to be a regular at what is now one of my favorite restaurants in pompano. read more

We were in the area and looking for a great Greek Restaurant that served lamb. I called ahead of time to see if they did and was told yes. We arrived and the place looked seedy from the exterior, but clean inside. When we asked the owner about the lamb dishes we were told they did not have them on the menu and if we wanted it, we had to order three days ahead and several more orders to make it worth her while. So, we all ordered off the very limited menu ( some Italian dishes) and settled for gyro plates , fried calamari and spinach pie. All gyro plates were like meat that was old and reheated. Calamari was 18.00 for not much more that a handful and the spinach pie looked reheated from leftovers. Terrible food. The place was empty and we could see why.The owner spent a lot of time telling how wonderful her food was, but it was the poorest excuse of Greek food we have ever had. Not all was lost,the salad was fresh but with onlyminuscule amts some feta cheese. Biggest disappointment ever. read more

A stuffed cabbage platter of 2 cabbage rolls with cut potato and carrot pieces and a pita @ $24, Falafel platter @ $17, Baklava @ $6, 1 wine, 2 beers and an unexpected 18% gratuity added to the check by the house was $68.58 after use of the voucher. read more

The worst owner of any establishment I've ever been to yes Christina herself. First of all the food is pretty good. But let me tell you about this slimy woman who tries to be the hostess with mostest. She comes over to tell us the same story that she told us last time we were there, that she just got back from vacation and that's why her restaurant is empty. Her restaurant is empty because she cheats people when it comes time to give you the bill. My girl and I paid with a free meal coupon $78. First she added the bill wrong and when I brought it to her attention she was all smiles saying I'm sorry blah blah blah.... Then when I added it up she was telling me that the gratuity is 18% after the full total. What she should have done is deducted the free meal first then add taxes then charge her 18%. When I explained this to her she became irrational even though she admitted she was wrong and that was the total and insisted I pay it. She stated it's a "gourmet" restaurant, and this place is about as gourmet as any fast food gyros place. But with her argumentative ways after admitting she was wrong in her calculation and suggesting I pay 18% for slow service when there was nobody in the restaurant was mind boggling. It's unfortunate because I like the food but the service is sub par and the BS attitude from this woman obviously keeps the customers away. Take your money and go to any other Greek restaurant stay away from this one. read more

Christina just opened up the new location after being closed since December and i'm so happy that they're back! The atmosphere is wonderful in the new location. Very cozy. The owner is a wonderful woman who's extremely sweet and totally makes you feel at home. She even opened the doors for me and my family when they were closed. The food is fantastic. I've been to many different greek restaurants including jimmy the greek but christina's beats them all. The tzatziki is perfect as well as their gyros.
