Found this new restaurant, it's not really new but it's new to me. I really enjoyed it. My server Nadine was very helpful and very nice. I had the lunch special with pita and chicken Shawarma and the rice pilaf delicious I had a wonderful dessert it's kind of like a cheesecake but different. I enjoyed it. All food was excellent. Came here with my boyfriend and one night because you were craving some Mediterranean food. We always notice a spot add opened and the public shopping plaza I was excited to check them out. When we arrived there was nobody there maybe just one or two group of people that were finishing up. The place is clean has a nice decor inside it's a Greek and Egyptian fusion food. On the positive side, it was ready when I arrived and he packaged sauces, napkins and everything we needed. Friendly and quick service for sure. However it was empty and no one else was there eating. The food was poor quality. The gyro meat was thick chunks where some of it tasted like it was minced meat and not sliced. Part of it was undercooked and pink so I didn't eat it. We got it with everything which included lettuce, Tomatoes & cucumbers with tzatziki. The lettuce mix was coated in olive oil which made it messy to eat. Not sure where the owners are from but I wouldn't guess the Mediterranean. I was on my way home from Deerfield Beach when I saw Mimi Pita Mediterranean Restaurant. I was planning to eat a late dinner tonight so I figured I might as well stop in to get something to tide me over. Jose was my server. He greeted me when I came in the door with a big smile and told me to sit wherever I was comfortable. I asked him for a glass of water without ice he brought immediately. When he got back to my table, yes what I wanted. I ordered the chicken shawarma pita sandwich. I also explained to Jose that I have a cucumber allergy. He made sure that the kitchen not only omitted the cucumbers, but the tzatziki sauce as well, and substituted tahini for it because tzatziki sauce has cucumber in it! The chicken shawarma was some of the best I've ever tasted! The seasoning was a little different. I'm wondering if they use tumeric in it? I couldn't talk to the chef while I was there. I'll check next time. Had to follow the savory chicken shawarma pita with a sweet baklava. Jose served it with a small dish of rosewater syrup. Now the meats are tough, and the lamb is overcooked and tasteless. 3 separate times we've tried to order pickup and each time an entire meal was either wrong or missing. Mini Pita is a top notch Mediterranean restaurant in Pompano Beach serving a great selection of Middle Eastern and Greek dishes. We stopped in this weekend when our original destination down the road, Mora Grill, turned out to be jam packed. Actually though, this proved to be one of those impromptu change of plans that worked out for the best. The food at Mini Pita was much better than Mora Grill, which is also a favorite of ours. We were seated and served very quickly by their great staff and we were really happy with everything we ordered. We went with the hummus, the lentil soup, the delicious falafel balls and the ground beef kabobs. The soup was silky smooth and had really notable flavor. The falafel also had amazing flavor and featured a superb crunchy exterior. It was obviously freshly made, a big plus. Finally, the kabobs were fresh off the grill, came with a great char and included a delicious side of rice and roasted vegetables. Overall I thought the pricing was fair and the service was outstanding too. Our waitress was really on point with a friendly personality and can do attitude. When our family goes out to eat, it can be a handful for any server. But she took it all in stride. We left very satisfied and happy. Five big stars. We love Mini Pita's older location. My husband was going through yelp and said "oh look here's a brand new restaurant." I tried to explain to him that this was the new location for our favorite place on 84. The new location is updated and has a large outdoor seating area. It also has shared indoor parking with Publix. The food did not disappoint. I had the same thing I always have and honestly the Egyptian mousakka was better than at their other location. Service was a little slow but very good. The food was just as good as the customer service. It has a family-style concept to this place. It could be touristy but I love the inside with the atmosphere feel of a true Mediterranean restaurant. The shrimp saganaki platter was so savory and delicious. The vegetable tory was a very interesting grilled veggie concept. It was very good. the Falafel was very tasty and tangy. It went well with the salad. Now the place is within a shopping center so you will need to be mindful that you need to park in the parking deck behind the restaurant. We had a good 3 1/2 star lunch here at this newly opened Mediterranean restaurant last week. It faces Atlantic Blvd and is a much larger restaurant inside than it looks from the street. Parking is easy in the Publix spaces behind it. You can easily cut through or walk along side the building. The hummus was excellent -- a creamy purée served with warm pita wedges. We got a half order and even that was more than large enough for two to share as an appetizer. For our main meal, we both ordered pita pocket sandwiches. They come with "middle eastern salad" (romaine, lettuce, cucumbers) inside the pita as well as tzatziki sauce; hot sauce is served along side. I got their lamb shawarma sandwich which has thin slices of meat; my husband got their lamb kebab sandwich which has cubes of meat. The sandwich was good, but a bit drippy. I should have asked for the sauce on the side. My husband added an order of well done french fries to his pita pocket. It was well worth the added $2.50. The fries were very good, too. We decided to try some dessert even though we were quite full. We opted for their galaktoboureko. As in the Greek tradition, this was dough stuffed with a custard with syrup poured over it. Their version, served cold, also had little bits of orange and lemon peel in it for extra flavor. We had a taste and took the rest home. (My husband heated his leftovers up in the microwave and said he liked it better hot.) The ambiance inside is nice with many Egyptian themed decorations. The menu has a lot of middle eastern dishes as well as "American" favorites. If you want to get fancier for dinner, look to their "Mediterranean" favorites for roast duck to lamb shank; Greek moussaka ("musaka")and "pastitsio"; or whole fish, et al. Vegan and vegetarianism dishes are marked and all their meat is halal. They have another location on SR 84 in Fort Lauderdale. They will be popular, I'm sure, once they get going and more people discover them here. read more

This was a new addition to their Mediterranean chain, (2nd), and newly opened in Pompano Beach. I chose the Lamb Kabob pita sandwich which was good, with plenty of tender lamb chunks, (kabobs), throughout. My fries were crispy and tasty! We shared an order of hummus and were given some sumac, after we requested, to sprinkle on top. Warm triangles of fresh pita to scoop the hummus. The lemonade was fresh and perfect tartness for my tastebuds! For dessert we ordered some Galakto boureko which was served cold but still good.
