Bal Harbour is a luxury shopping mall that opened in 1965 in the upscale village of Bal Harbour in Miami. I have visited it twice and this experience nailed its essence. The pop up is set up in shipping containers that have been turned into 17,000 square feet of elegant micro stores. One of my favorite things about the Bal Harbour mall is the open air atrium in the center and they even recreated it. Participating businesses include Tiffany and Co., Addict, Assouline, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Elisabetta Franchi, Etro, Golden Goose, Lanvin, Monnalisa, and Santa Maria Novella. You can shop for clothing, jewelry, perfume, and books. You can dine at The Whitman, a restaurant created specifically for the pop up. The name of the restaurant was inspired by The Whitman by The Sea, a luxury Miami Beach hotel owned by the Whitman family in the 1940's. As a fan of Bal Harbour, I really enjoyed this experience. Another Golden Goose pop up retro sneaker store in West Palm Beach. I thought at first glance that…read morethis sneaker store was a new interesting idea but then I was corrected by two ladies I was with. They offer these shops as pop ups at other locations. Either way, I thought it was different and cool looking sneakers and oddly one rack of leather jackets too. The sneakers were retro designed and started at $565.00 - I thought for that price they were lined with gold flakes or signed by Michael Jordan but I was wrong. Loved the interior decor which screamed retro with old skateboard, bland colored suitcases and big stereos blending with the sneakers on the wall displays. Very intriguing store for youngsters and the wife would never permit me to wear the sneakers.

The Satellite: A Project of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County is right in the middle of…read moreCity Place in West Palm Beach. It opened in Nov 2018 and expected to close Spring 2019, so go check it out before they do something else with this space. It's a pop up art gallery and space for events hosted by Cultural Council. The Cultural Council has their main art building in the city of Lake Worth where they host a lot of art classes, events, local artists and international ones. At The Satellite they have a special exhibition called, "Reimage." It showcases solo artists that are listed in the website of Cultural Council. This pop up gallery is small but a neat space to take pictures and enjoy some good art and design. It's free to the public for visiting. The lecture series events they host are $10 for non members. The front of the gallery has information on special events of local organizations as well.

Carnivore Foodie Nirvana!…read more I'm amazed that I missed writing about Palm Beach Meats! A Bib Gourmand Michelin restaurant, several dishes have been given Michelin designation. Honestly? They're all pretty damn good! This go-round, I tried the pastrami sliders which are off the chain! See the photo. They do a lot of Wagyu here. Honestly? I generally don't like places that do a lot of Wagyu. They tend to lean into the fat too much and don't balance their acids in contrast in their dishes. This place is like a perfect teeter totter sitting in the dead middle. The dishes are well thought through. They don't leave you feeling like you ate 10 tons of food. The cases are full of meats that you can take home and cook as well as cheeses that are exotic and interesting wines and beer and exotic sodas. All kinds of special condiments and foodstuffs. Service is excellent! Order at the counter, but they give you great attention! It's a small place. Desserts are so good that it's scary! Japanese Cream Sandos are a unique one! The dining room is clean comfortable, not pretentious. They're playing 80s Ramones tunes and "Cherry Bomb," and other tunes that just make you smile.

It came served in a bowl with white fried rice topped with scallions, pickled onions and carrots, Wagyu beef, and an egg. Every bite was flavorful and well-balanced. We also ordered the PBM Wagyu Burger cooked medium well, and at $19.99, it was absolutely spectacular. It was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and ketchup, and it did not disappoint. We paired our meal with a couple of their specialty soft drinks from Boylan Bottling Company, including the cane cola, which was a great touch. The ambience is intimate and inviting. I really loved the setup. They have a meat cooler on display featuring the meats they use and sell, bottles of wine on the shelves, and a refrigerator stocked with specialty drinks. It is not just a restaurant experience, but also a meat market where you can purchase Wagyu and other specialty meats. The whole place has a charming, little Italian-style decor that makes it feel unique and welcoming. Rosemary took our order, made excellent recommendations, and also came by to clear our table. Her service added a lot to the experience and made us feel well taken care of. This is definitely a do-over for us. I loved the logo, I loved the setting, and most of all, I loved the food.
