However he pressured me into having full jaw X-rays despite my concern that I did not want this kind of radiation exposure because of recent medical imaging exposure. Had a real "Dr. is right, take it or leave it" attitude. I would have wanted to research exposure risks (and I have the training to do so) and wait until next visit but he did not want to examine me without the X-rays (something Dr. Pyle always respected). Of course the total exam bill was twice what I was accustomed to paying. I will not be returning.

He once told me that my gums were receding because I was brushing too hard. I adjusted by buying a soft electric toothbrush. When I brought that issue up at an appointment, he denied having told me that in the first place. Um, I didn't make that up, and you're the only dentist I've seen for the past 10 years. Prior to moving here in '04 I'd had numerous dentists and Dr. Dunsmoor is by far the most professional and competent dentist I have ever dealt with. Her exams are methodical and thorough. On numerous occasions over the years she has instructed a hygienist re-do a section that wasn't cleaned to her high standards. Her advice in the care of my choppers has also been spot-on. Very early on I encountered a little friction with Dr. Dunsmoor's staff. Since that time she has upgraded her front desk staff and it has never happened again. I only mention it in the spirit of full transparency and note that I still give a 5 star rating. Additionally, the couple of times I felt I've needed Dr. Dunsmoor after hours she has always gotten back to me promptly and once met me outside of office hours which I appreciated very much. Lastly, she provides excellent and honest referrals. The endodontist and oral surgeon referrals she has provided were first class.

I went to the Wainright & Wassel dental office on May 8, 2024 in hopes of having tooth 31…read morerecemented and tooth 5 evaluated for a crown. Three years ago Dr. Mark Wainright had recemented tooth 31 and in 2019 remade a crown for tooth 4.  Since I had had problems with both these teeth, I asked if I could have a price break for the upcoming work. I had done a Google search on crowns and was told they should last 3-5 years.  The crown on tooth 4 was a total waste of my money since it did not close the gap between my 3 & 4 teeth as I was told it would do.  Therefore I believed I had a legitimate cause to ask for a price break. I was seeing Dr. Matthew Wassel since Dr. Wainright had a long wait schedule. Instead of being willing to do my work, I was told that not only could they not recement tooth 31, but that I would also need a whole new crown due to some problem that did not make any sense to me.  The crown on 31 did not have a problem before and it was recemented.  I thought this was absurd and told them so.   For tooth 5, I was told I needed to have an X-ray.  When I said they had just done X-rays five months ago, I was then told they would need  pictures.  I disagreed with both and PLAINLY stated I was not paying for either.  I was then told they would need pictures and I agreed with the stipulation that it would be FREE!  I saw no need for pictures for the evaluation.  I had a mirror if I wanted to see the tooth and pictures were of no use to the dental office for evaluation purposes. I was then told they could place tooth 31, but with only temporary cement.  I told them this idea was insane.   Why would I want the tooth cemented on temporarily to then have to go to another dentist office and have them remove the crown to do it permanently? I left the office and went to see Dr. Christopher Powell later the same day, May 8, 2024 and he recemented the tooth permanently with no questions. There is probably the question as to why I did not complain about the crown on tooth 4 back when it happened?  Tooth 4 is a dental implant.  Doing more work on it could create even more problems.  I was trying to bend over backwards to be a "Nice Guy" in hopes I could stay in good relations with the dentist. My complaints to the dental board are: 1. Dr. Wainright told me he could close the gap between teeth 3 & 4 with a new crown and it did not. 2. Dr. Wassel refused to hear me, billing me for photos that were totally useless. 3. Dr. Wassel refused to hear my issues and instead tried to cover it up by stating that tooth 31 had a problem and needed to be remade. 4.  Dr. Wassel refused to hear my issues, refused to consider my complaints and instead penalized me with two behavior management charges.

I was very thorough when I completed my forms in explaining my previous experiences & why I wanted to see Dr. Cook. I went in to my appt. today (Saturday) & was first shocked when I was asked for about $35 for uncovered X-rays that I would need that I wasn't forewarned about during any of the calls/texts made to me. Then, I was told there was an extra fee for using a card to pay this unexpected fee. Ok, I let that slide. During my cleaning with Val, I learned that Dr. Cook wasn't even there & I'd be seeing his associate. Ugh! Did they not read my paperwork??? I don't want to see his associate. I don't trust dentists at this point & was specifically giving Dr. Cook a chance, so please try to understand my disappointment by this entire appointment at this point. I spent 1.5 hours there to see someone else just to be told that I can come back to see Dr. Cook on a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. I have to wait now until I can be off during the week to meet him & that's not going to be anytime soon. I made my next appointment for a cleaning, but I'm not sure if I'm even going. Im basically giving them a 3 star because the people I met were friendly. They just need to be more transparent & upfront about fees & make sure they are scheduling patients with who they actually want to see. After seeing the other dentist, my hygienist left me with another associate who did a panoramic scan on my mouth (I truly don't know why). From there was I taken to the front desk to check out. There was no flossing me. I didn't get a new toothbrush like at other dentists. What I did get was a cute cup at the end though. Thanks, Deja!

Each time I come in for an appointment, I am greeted by the friendly receptionist. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to answer any question that you may have. The staff here is phenomenal. I have to admit that before coming to this dentist office I hated going to the dentist. I don't like to use the word hate, but I don't know how else to describe it. Here, everyone is gentle and listens to your concerns. They ensure that you feel comfortable and routinely ask how you are feeling even when you are just getting a cleaning. I can't imagine going to another dentist office. I recommend this business to my friends whenever anyone mentions needing a new dentist.

Doctor Gaught is super friendly and open, and takes some time to talk to me, unlike a lot of other dentists who kind of breeze in and out after the hygienist is done with you. I said I have Cigna ppo insurance. "Okay what is your insurance." - strike 2. I don't give 3 strikes. How absolutely awful and distracted can you possibly be to not listen to anything a person is saying to you? For you to keep asking questions I already answered. I work in healthcare, literally as patient access. I know how intense the environments are but come on for Pete's sake. Awful customer service and no, I did not schedule an appointment.
