I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Cary Family Dental, especially Dr. Wooten, has stayed on my mind, and I felt like I needed to share it. I switched from my previous dentist over 3 years ago. While the dental work was good, the experience had started to feel transactional, more focused on what else needed to be done and the cost rather than care and compassion. Every visit made me anxious. I always felt like I was getting a report card and somehow never getting an "A." Eventually, I just stopped going. And if you know me, that is SO unlike me. I'm a "get it done" kind of girl and pretty tough, but when it came to the dentist, I was over it. My husband and son had been going to Cary Family Dental for years and kept encouraging me to go. I finally made the call, and from that first appointment, it felt different. My hygienist, Melanie (I hope I got her name right! ), was amazing. She was thorough, caring, compassionate, and immediately put me at ease. She's also been with the practice for many years, which tells you something. Then I met Dr. Wooten, and I truly cannot say enough about him. Right before the 4th of July weekend, I needed a crown on a tricky back molar. After the office had closed for the holiday, my temporary crown came off. I called the emergency number expecting I'd probably have to deal with it until after the holiday. Dr. Wooten called me right back. He was literally about to leave town for his own holiday weekend, yet he came back to the office to redo my temporary crown because he didn't want it coming off again and ruining my weekend. I felt terrible that I was delaying his travel plans. He was only concerned about making sure I was okay. That is the difference between simply receiving dental care and feeling genuinely cared for. The following week, he placed my permanent crown with the same kindness and attention to detail. Do I suddenly LOVE going to the dentist? Let's not get carried away. I still have anxiety. But I know I'm walking into an office where I'm going to be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. After putting off the dentist for far too long, I finally feel like I've found "my people." Cary Family Dental is where my family goes, and now, very happily, it's where I go too. Dr. Wooten, thank you for going above and beyond when you absolutely didn't have to. It meant more than you probably realized.

#1 Sat in the outer waiting room forever as a new patient. Was last to be walked in…read more #2 Dental hygienist was great so that was a good thing, although too many touchy-feely questions for my like. I was there for a teeth cleaning, and some x-rays. #3 The tooth cleaning was less than impressive. Some of my deepest stains did not come out and they did not have answers for why they could not get them out "in my opinion". They were all ready to do extra fillers above my eye teeth to augment where the stains were. This would be at my cost, and would make the stains, invisible to the naked eye. #4 when I went to check out, I find out there is no coordination of benefits, which was never mentioned at any point when I spoke to the office manager or staff person during the initial interview. So now I'm going to have to file the extra paperwork myself. Not cool! #5 The straw that broke the camels back is several weeks later, when I receive the bill from the insurance company stating that this dentist office is out of network for my insurance company, which I specifically asked them to check and was told they "accepted my insurance". Now I don't know what that means to them, but to me, it means that they are in network for my insurance company. Surprise, they aren't! I owe almost $350. Again, not cool!

I have not been going for regular check ups. I was super anxious but they so graciously fit me in same day for an an emergency visit and I was treated with nothing but kindness. I received quality care from all employees and the Docter and was very relieved. Just feeling comfortable is a huge thing for me and I truly have had a really good experience and have felt more comfortable than I ever have at a dentist office, as well as getting my pain issue fixed and resolved in a super timely manner.

I could not be more impressed with the services that I received and would highly recommend this provider. The hygienist, Jodi was amazing and very gentle and thorough at the same time. She was very patient and was given quite a task because I had so much plaque build up. I am not a great patient and she went above and beyond and was very kind and understanding. Dr. Singh is the best! He is knowledgeable and professional and kind and extremely understanding and gentle. I appreciate that he is not pushy and takes his time to show you and explain exactly what is needed and why. I have adult children that live in the area and they recommended this office to me. I could not be more pleased!

Dude has been my dentist for five or six years now. Instead of respecting my decision, they continuously called and texted me, pressuring me to schedule treatment even after I repeatedly indicated that I was still considering my options. The constant calls and messages became excessive and extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, they apparently scheduled an appointment on their own without my consent or confirmation. I never agreed to that appointment, never confirmed it, and never committed to proceeding with treatment. Now they are attempting to charge me $120 claiming it was not canceled 48 hours in advance, even though I never authorized or agreed to that appointment in the first place. This office showed no respect for my decision-making process, my time, or basic professional standards. Scheduling appointments without a patient's clear consent and then charging cancellation fees for them is completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dental office to anyone.

A temporary cap was put on the tooth while the permanent one was being made. When I went back to get the permanent cap they could not get the temporary one off so they kept it on. The tooth was still irritating me after the permanent was put on but I did not go back because I was scared to after going through a stressful appointment with this dentist trying to get the temp cap off. About 5-6 months later I was flossing and the cap moved and started causing me severe pain. I went back to this dentist and they recommended a root canal. They did the root canal through the irritated cap and the tooth never stopped bothering me. Now about a year later I can not eat without the tooth causing me pain. I now have to pay 2k for an extraction that my insurance will not cover due to the incompetence at this dentist. I do not recommend going here

The fam and I have been seeing Dr. Pressley for a few years now and he's always been honest, sincere, and excellent in his diagnosis and recommendations. His care manners are great and he takes the time to really understand the patient and their issues. There's always a new team through out the years. And the problems I've witness stems from the front office staff. The service you get from them feels a lot like money grabbing!! The secretary would not let you ask a quick question to the doctor without being put on the calendar even after you had a procedure done. This year I found out that he no longer accepts my type of insurance so I was willing to pay, For the office insurance which I did and I was scheduled the same week for a root canal. Totaling $3000. I came in for a add-on tooth for my partials. Was told be ready in two days, calling everyone day after still wasn't back until seven days later. Secretary had to give appointment just to come in and pick it up. Then they wasn't fitting correctly and secretary told me she will have to make appointment for doctor to correct it within days after. Then after root canal had to wait Nine days to come back for crown. Ask secretary same day upon leaving can she schedule me for a cleaning (free with office insurance) She informs me that I need appointment so he can check if my gums can do a regular cleaning or a deep clean it. Which would cost a few hundred more dollars. That's when I said enough is enough for trying to nickel and dime me.
