Dr. Brendler came up with a different diagnosis than the prior four "specialists" and gave me samples of a different kind of medicine. Eureka! The new remedy is not working perfectly (in a 74 year old body only so much can be expected!), but I feel MUCH better than I have since I was a kid! Finally, a correct diagnosis! Dr. Brendler has common sense about tests, listens well, and came up with a completely different and correct diagnosis. Don't give up without consulting her.

Their recommended transport services were not available, so the office staff would not allow me to be seen, even though my taxi driver had first aid training. The office manager kept saying that I should have called to schedule one of their cabs earlier? 2 weeks isn't enough? If I can get myself there, I can get myself home, regardless of what taxi I take. Why are they releasing patients at all, if the patient is still incapacitated from sedation? I was without food or sleep for 3 days prior to this procedure, and was not in any condition for this manager to be chastising me on what cab I used! She ended up frustrated, and kept saying 'Do you want to reschedule?' Obviously she has never experienced a colonoscopy, and No, I did not want to reschedule. I had been in there twice before, once for a C/O and once for a gastric surgery to prevent a cancer from growing. That surgery went bad and I ended up in the hospital for 6 days. So Yes, I'd been there before. No, I've had enough of OEC, and frankly, I'd rather get cancer than go there again!

Dr Moaven and his entire staff are wonderful listeners and Dr Moaven's careful and thorough manner leave me feeling comfortable and confident that my treatment plan is absolutely the best path for me. A visit with Dr Moaven is like a visit with a loved family member and I feel blessed to have him and his staff as part of my health care team! I have, over the years, had a number of procedures (Colonoscopy, EGD and numerous consultations) I always leave visits or procedures feeling like I have been cared for by a Close relative. This practitioner is, in my opinion, simply THE BEST!!

I want to say that, for me, McKenzie-Willamette hospital is the best hospital in the area. I have…read morehad to go to the hospital 3 times for emergency and the wait was less than 1/2 hour in all 3 cases. I was taken care of and the problem I had was taken care of by the doctors and nurses. The last few months I was at the hospital due to blocked arteries which caused me to have a triple bypass, heart shocked twice, an ablation, and finally a pacemaker implanted. After my bypass I ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit where I was taken care of by the most professional caring doctors and nurses. It was like my comfort and recovery were the most important task they had. It is no wonder that they and the doctors and nurses at the McKenzie Heart Group are a level 3 star for patient care and outcomes. My understanding is that is the highest level attainable and there are only 3 in all of Oregon. Two in Portland and one at McKenzie-Willamette hospital with the McKenzie Heart group. You couldn't do any better than them for your heart care especially if you need bypass surgery.

The next morning Dr Whitsel walked in the room and her first words were "She has dementia!" I questioned how she could diagnose it so quickly and she responded that mom was given a story to read and then asked questions about it and that she had failed the test. I continued asking questions and she said that she had 8 new patients and she would have to look over her notes. I think she should have gone over the notes before she entered the room. She has HORRIBLE bedside manner and does not like to be questioned. I would suggest you request a different doctor if she is looking at your patient.

Decided the moment she saw me that she had issues with me, it was obvious. Popped into my room throughout my week long visit at McKenzie Willamette's Progressive Care Unit (which she is somehow the 'hospitalist' for) to make weird and taunting statements while displaying a poorly disguised grin. After a procedure to save my life, she (the last time I'll assign it any human/animal pronoun) was the first face I saw while coming out from under anesthesia, telling me it was discharging me immediately. My actual cardiologist had told me I would be kept for observation. When I argued with it, it told me it was her wing and it was not going to be argued with. I stayed the night but was rushed out next day even after staff had damaged my prosthetic in the process. Yeah, I'm also an amputee. I would recommend it be stripped of title and prosecuted. It is an absolute monster and it never should have been given license to practice. Still in process of taking legal action. The ER staff were amazing. The majority of nurses on it's wing became increasingly cold and passive aggressively punitive as the week went on, and I have no doubt it was at the urging of Whitsel. F@#k Whitsel.
