Very knowledgeable and helpful doctor and staff. Great experience. My son having chronic stomach pain, Had colonoscopy and upper GI, all good, but pain still persisted, using other treatments and suggestions that have helped. Have learned a lot from them. Considering Samaritan health overall doesn't have much of a good reputation, I give these guys an A+ read more

Having just completed today my Colonoscopy with Dr. Gregory Schwartz, of Mid Valley Gastroenterology, I want to recommend he, and his wonderful staff, to any potential patient looking for an extremely talented MD Gastroentologist. Dr. Schwartz has excellent "bedside" manners, completely putting me at ease with the procedure, and an excellent post-op follow-up with photos, and his expert opinion made easily understood in Layman's terms. He is truly an outstanding Doctor who cares about his patients, and takes the time to learn about them on a personal basis. His staff was excellent during the procedure, going out o their way to make me comfortable before, and after the procedure. I had an appointment with Mary Reed PA-C at Mid-Valley Gastroenterology, and I have to say I give her (and the others I encountered) 5 stars for the following reasons: Everyone I encountered leading up to and including my visit were fantastic, which includes the phone contacts, the receptionist when I got to my appointment, the CMA, and even the student who attended my visit. They were attentive, friendly, caring and professional. They all made me feel comfortable and seen. Mary (Reed) was amazing, she was so caring, thorough, knowledgeable and attentive, I felt heard and cared for. She never treated my like I was old and should just expect these things to happen, but worked with me to come up with suggestions and ways to solve the issues I presented. She took the time needed to really get to know me and understand what I was experiencing. I felt safe and am so happy that I have found her for all of my GI needs. read more

I was very unhappy that my first visit to MVG was with a physician assistant instead of a doctor. My experience with PAs and nurse practitioners has been poor because they misdiagnose medical issues. Waste of time and money. I will transfer to Corvallis Clinic or a clinic in Salem. read more

The Albany office seems to be managed by Abbott & Costello! Chest x-ray requested at the hospital, not lower abdominal as needed. When lower abdominal was requested, it went to the wrong hospital. After I got that straightened out I had to contact them weeks later for results. Requests for blood draws for labs are never sent over unless they are reminded twice to send the request. (More than once this happened.) It's very disconcerting that there is such poor follow though and follow-up. It is NOT a trust building situation. That said, the doctor that did the colonoscopy appeared to know what he was doing and came through with what he said he would for follow-up. Makes me think it's the PA's (definitely) and office people are lacking. Were it an isolated incident, that's forgivable. But multiple lab and x-ray requests, that's poor office management at my expense. read more

I had an colonoscopy and endoscopy with Dr Harris this month. It took three separate appointments because of medicine complications on my part. Dr Harris continued with me until my test were done. Scheduling me each time before I even left the office. He is a real stand up dr with amazing bed side manner. His staff is also so very friendly and helpful. If this post sounds angry, it is because I am. This group was awful. My son went to this group with Crohn's. From the office staff who were cold and robotic, to PA Hulting who kept telling him to wait longer for prednisone and Humira to work, to Dr. Harris who even though he'd done his colonoscopy didn't recognized a nearly blocked colon, or he didn't care enough to look, Mid-Valley Gastroenterology was a disaster. For over 5 months, neither of these "specialists" Hulting nor Dr. Harris had any plan to help my son who was in severe pain, dropped 40 pounds in 5 months from vomiting and extreme diarrhea and suffering from malnutrition because of malabsorption. You didn't need to be a doctor to see my son was visibly in very poor health. Starving to death-literally. But they just kept running us in circles. They did nothing! Dr Harris even made fun of him for wearing steel-toed boots from work. Ultimately, my son collapsed and was admitted to Good Sam Hospital with a blocked colon. No one from this group, including Dr. Wolf who was on call, no one from this group would respond to the hospitalist's request for a consult. Terrible, terrible. This group should be avoided. Go to Salem, go to Eugene, go to Portland. Your life may depend on it. read more

I've been going here to MidValley Gastroenterology since 2014. It's a very busy office, with other offices besides Corvallis...in Lebanon and Albany too. There are many Drs working in these offices, if you don't like one, try a different Dr instead. I have seen Dr Morse since I was DC with Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis in 2013, (November). Dr Morse is very good. He listens to the patient and carefully determines your course of action. He orders necessary tests to be done and I strongly feel he is doing what is best for me personally. I trust him implicitly! I've had complicated issues come up and he has always had a plan B in place which I'm saying that he never gives up. I feel comfortable with him as my Dr and hes always willing to listen and suggest things that I might try to help my conditions. The staff has always been very nice and supportive of me. They return my calls for requested appointments, questions, or worries I may have. I can't say enough good things about this group of Gastroenterologists! But most of all, I really like Dr Chad Morse and I have not been able to say that about a physician I've had before! Perhaps the negative reviewers were anxious, having a bad day or perhaps the person who helped them was having a bad day. That's not beyond the realm of reasoning, everyone does experience a bad day now and again. Or maybe the reviewer was expecting too much, impatient, or not listening to to what they were being told. It does happen to the best of us. Whether we like to admit it or not. As I mentioned earlier, it is a very busy office. read more
