My father always go out for breakfast when we are both in town. We are tired of the same places so I read the reviews and we decided to give this a try. The staff could not have been nicer or more welcoming. The waiter chatted with us like we had been going there for years. The Decor was so cute and clean. I was fully anticipating this being our new go to place. However, with the exception of great biscuits the food was ok. My scrambled eggs were rubbery. My fried potatoes were not cooked all the way and were still hard. My bacon was very salty and ,I am not sure how to describe this but, although well cooked as I asked they were still chewy and not crispy. I opted for cheese grits over the potatoes and a biscuit over toast. The omelet was absolute perfection. The grits were creamy and delicious. My husband ordered french toast with over medium eggs and potatoes. He tossed in an order of biscuits and sausage gravy just to give them a try. The french toast was deep fried and he loved it. The potatoes were seasoned nicely and the eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. The sausage gravy was the best that I have had in the area. Michael was our waiter and I can not possibly shower him with enough praise over a job well done. He was professional, warm and friendly. Solid, local diner breakfast - if that's what you're seeking, this is one of Orlando's best at that. I think I first went 15 years ago, and although the interior has changed, not much else has. Country breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 sausage gravy biscuits, hashbrown/grits/home fries choice for $6.50 is my go-to. You can even have a light 2 egg breakfast with a biscuit and grits/hashbrowns for $3.50 - you just can't beat the value. Always a good special listed for $6 - $7 as well, and pretty much everything in the whole place is under $9 (like it should be at a diner!). And, the breakfast is actually good. They cook egg variations properly, which many breakfast spots sadly struggle with...hashbrowns are pretty basic (just unseasoned potato, ask for extra crispy for a true brown). Fairly quick on your food's arrival, even with a packed house - the kitchen here is consistent and cranks food out. Coffee is decent, but they'll always offer you one to go, which is great to get your value on dine-in coffee. Full variety of all of your favorite diner employee characters - this place is local, and there's no slacking on the portions or the service. I've never seen a server not working hard here. Large patio, which is equal to the size of the interior, decent size 'L'-bar for solo diners that can hold about 8 people . Read the chalkboard yourself, wave at your server if you need something, pay at the register...you know the drill. read more

Nice little hidden gem. Stopped by on a whim and it didn't disappoint. First of all, parking can be quite terrible in the mornings, they have a parking lot.. but it doesn't hold many. After that you'll be using whatever street parking you can find. The business itself is quite small inside. It's pretty cramped and you may be bumping elbows with the table next to you. It sounds bad, however, it actually suits the venue. You get a nice 'home cooking' feel to the place. Service was very prompt and friendly. Lindsay was our server and she was great! The menu is your standard breakfast foods. Omelettes, pancakes, single sides etc. I personally went with just French toast as I wasn't too hungry. It was genuinely fantastic! Cooked to perfection. They also have a 'fried French toast' option, but that sounds a bit much for me! Prices were great. Ok, took long enough but I hit up Christo's for the first time ever this morning - i know, i know, i am WAY behind. My mother is in town though and I knew she would like the real down home breakfast food. It was a holiday and they forgot to schedule more people to cover the busy crowd so it was a little slow but we were in no hurry and the servers we so lovely. I was surprised they were so lovely cause I know if that was me, I would not be lovely =) props to them! I had a latte and it was lovely so I had another! I am a french toast fiend so I went with the Christo french toast - deep fried! However, when it came out it didn't really taste deep fried, it just tasted like it was rolled around in cinnamon sugar. I am not a huge cinnamon fan (like tigers) so I was not blown away. We have to be very careful when it comes to where we eat. We don't eat meat and rarely eat fish or dairy. So obviously it can be hard to find a good spot to eat a vegetable based meal. We checked out the menu and found that the extensive menu includes a few options for people like us. One of them is the option of a few veggie sides to make a meal (that is a wonderful option) and a veggie burger and a veggie Gyro. We had the Gyro and a Veggie burger. Michael was very sweet and accommodating, answering all of our questions. Our meal was quite delicious and I must say that we were incredibly happy with it! Christo's Cafe makes you feel like you're all family. I remember the very first time I went, a man and his son were picking up some soup for their sick wife/mom. The man cashing them out (I believe the owner) gave it free of charge. This stuck with me and just showed the love for their customers. My boyfriend and I have made Christo's a regular place for us as its open early before work. We always see the same set of people inside munching on their early morning breakfast. The breakfast options are many and they always have some sort of special. The prices are decent for the amount of food that you receive. The breakfast is your good ol' diner style - tastes like home cooking. I normally gravitate towards eggs with bacon or sausage and hash browns. I definitely recommend a grilled biscuit! I've had every intention of visiting Christo's since I first saw it about two years ago. Today, I finally made it to Christo's for breakfast and a step back in time. Unlike so many other places in Orlando, there is nothing chain-like about Christo's. It is a unique reminder of a time when all restaurants were local restaurants and, like this morning's clientele, when all patrons were regulars. Christo's is a diner that would have been recognizable to people hungry for breakfast at any time in the past century. Formica counter. Check. Photos of patrons on the wall. Check. Hand written white board with sides and specials scribbled in almost neat printing. Check. There is no denying Christo's has character or that its food is solid, filling food. It has an eclectic but familiar menu that would be recognized by anyone who grew up in the middle of the 20th century. While there is nothing ground breaking, the fare at a neighbourhood joint does not need to be. This morning I ordered eggs and they were properly cooked over-easy. My hash browns were browned but not burnt (although they could have had a bit more salt) and, similarly, my rye toast was crisp but not rock hard. In short, my breakfast was cooked the way I would have prepared it if I had decided to make my own breakfast--exactly the way comfort food should be prepared. My server was attentive, kept my coffee cup filled and brought me my food when it was still hot. Pluses all. I give Christo's only three stars because despite the familiarity of the experience, it is perhaps too familiar. A meal eaten out should offer more than just good food and that is really all that Christo's offers. If I lived in College Park and were a regular, I am sure that Christo's would be my favorite place for breakfast because it would be like home. Since I do not live there and I am not a regular, the experience was not personal enough to capture my emotions and the food was not sufficiently superior to capture my palate's devotion. After reading some great reviews and seeing it on a few places to brunch lists my boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast here Sunday morning. Parking was a bit of a challenge. The lot is small and street parking is limited. Luckily we were able to find a space. The restaurant is small. The outdoor patio is about as big as the entire inside of the place. We were told to seat ourselves and seeing nothing available inside (10am on Sunday) we chose a table outside. Luckily, the weather was pleasant. It took a while before anyone came over and brought us menus. It was a little chilly and I saw a kid with a delicious looking hot chocolate so I ordered one. My boyfriend ordered water. There were lots of options on the menu and it took us awhile to make our decisions. However, we still sat there with menus closed for some time before our server came back to take our order. Everything is very reasonably priced and I loved that there were 1 egg, 1 pancake, 1 slice of French toast plates. Small portions make me happy because I can try more things. I ordered 1 egg with sausage, hashbrowns, biscuit, and a side of sausage gravy. The boyfriend had 2 eggs with a hamburger steak, home fries, and toast. He also ordered a coffee, which our server did not bring until our breakfast showed up. The portions were large. We had more than enough food. Everything was good, but not exceptional. The best thing I ate was the sausage gravy. It was really good, but was the only thing we ordered that was remotely special. We were both unimpressed with our potatoes. His tasted ok after adding salt, but they didn't look appetizing at all. My hashbrowns were kind of cold and undercooked. Overall, our service was pretty spotty. Decided to stop in for lunch this past Sunday since the other Sunday lunch options in College Park are pretty minimal. As I mentioned before - the neighborhood atmosphere is the reason to come here and take time to catch up with friends. For lunch I had the lamb gyro which was good but not great, and a friend had the chicken salad melt (and said the same). Also, I moved to Central Florida 8 years ago and had still been looking for a solid diner. This place is IT! While this is not quite a Greek-owned or 50's style diner from up north that had 1000 items on the menu, it is pretty darn good for breakfast. Good combo meals and great prices (and southern foods that certainly wouldn't have been on those menus in the north). I've come here several times now and have yet to be disappointed. My husband randomly suggested Christo's Cafe for brunch. Upon arriving the place was PACKED, we opted to wait for indoor seating as it was too hot outside and had to wait about 40 mins to be sat down, no big deal it was a busy time of the day. We were immediately greeted, drink orders were taken and orders as well. My one complaint is how incredibly long our food took to arrive. Multiple tables that arrived after us received their food and even checked out before our food arrived. I ordered the croissant ham, cheese, sausage sandwich and it was great. A little greasy but that's to be expected. I did not try the home fries, but my husband enjoyed them. He had the pancakes which he also enjoyed. We have been patronizing Christo's for thirteen years, virtually every Sunday. We ate there not because the food is so good but because of how the staff make you feel like an old friend (as it should be)! We are likely not returning because this view of their patrons has been lost since new management has taken over. We used to be able to bring our dogs and eat in the patio, that policy has been eliminated by management. Now they say "no outside food and beverage allowed". We have bringing Starbucks iced tea with us for some time. Occasionally we being a chocolate chip bagel from Einstein Bros for our six year old. In both cases we get those items and go to Christo's, something they are missing, that by changing their policies we won't come at all. This morning we arrived on schedule with our iced tea and we are told by the waiter, "sorry but my manager told me to tell you that you can't have outside food or drinks..." While pointing at the new sign just posted on the wall (see picture). He then proceeds to tell us "I know this is crazy but you can stand in the parking lot and drink them and then come back to the table." Christo's management, you just made one of your most loyal customers feel betrayed and embarrassed, not a good move. You also did not have the courage to tell us instead forcing our waiter, who has known us for years, to do the dirty work. Some may agree with a no outside whatever policy but I am here to tell you that you should just be glad the customer came at all. Why make it hard for people to frequent your business? Nice small local place. Service is friendly and they seem to have a lot of local repeat customers. The servers knew a few people by name and what they normally liked to order. I liked seeing that in the Winter Park area. We popped in for a nice quiet breakfast during our appointments in town. I had the philly cheesesteak omelette and a side of bacon. This was probably one of the best sides of bacon I could order anywhere. Coffee is delicious and our server was quick to refill my mug when it was running low. Prices are incredibly reasonable. This cafe came up on a yelp search I did one morning. My friends and I woke up wanting a GOOD home cooked meal. We didn't want to have to get dressed up to fit in at a jazzy brunch place downtown- just wanted some food we could grub on. This place checked all the boxes for us. We were seated promplty, despite how busy it looked. The waitress was friendly and attentive to our needs. You can tell this is a place the locals go- it had such a homey classic feel to it. Food was great! Price was very very reasonable (I think they had a good amount of meals that were priced around $6). Outside seating looked cute and relaxed. Solid breakfast stop. One of those places you pass 1000 times and finally decide to stop in to. I truly enjoy just eating at the counter. Linda and Connie have both been great to me in the four or five times I have rolled in, and you can always enjoy a nice conversation with those nearby. The interior is small, but it always appears as everyone is having a great time which is all you can ask. This is my boyfriend and I's absolute FAVORITE breakfast place ever. The food is always good and very consistent. The traditional breakfast is my favorite and they have the best sausage patties.
