parking is free mid-week, but reservations are required on weekends and some holidays...free…read moreweekend reservations are very limited and requires advanced planning...every tuesday between 12pm and 7pm, free parking reservations becomes available and free parking reservation for 4+ carpool...if nothing is available, you pay $30 for regular parking reservation...it's little confusing and haven't found any free parking available when i needed to go, and i end up just paying the $30 online each time... usually come to the village on weekends for daughter's ski school...drop the kids off at ski school at 8:30am and head to coffeebar to get some coffee...sip and relax...walk around the village and browse the various shops for clothing and gear...at 11:30am, start checking out the various restaurants....there are many options from a simple pretzel dog at euro snack...some tasty mexican at tremigo...rocker, 22 and fireside are probably the 3 sit-down restaurants with a good variety of food for an entire family...all 3 are decent...the worst food options are probably in the lodge...oh! burger and oishi ramen were pretty disappointing...the village doesn't compare to vail or aspen, but it is probably one of the nicer villages in the tahoe area...all the basics are available for parents to eat, rest and browse while they wait to pick up their kids from ski school which ends at 3:30pm...or, the hardcore parents that come every weekend for kid's ski team...

This hotel is clean, and in great condition. It's cute, has outdoor picnic tables, seating areas and even a little skate park and cornhole area. Behind the hotel you are up against a gold course. Each room has its own private patio/balcony. We were conveniently located on the bottom floor near the rear exit to the parking lot. Our room faced the golf course with a nice seating area on our private patio. There is a walking trail along the fence line we saw people walking dogs in the area. Our room was equipped with snowboard and ski hanging area for those staying during the winter months. They also rent out equipment for hotel guests. There is an outdoor seating area with fire pits as well as a complimentary sauna which is great for those who have been on the slopes all day. The bathroom was slightly smaller that I would have liked but perfect for the 2 of us for the weekend. They also provied ear plugs in the rooms incase your spouse is a scorer. There is art and a book in each room. Rooms have mini fridge that keeps your drinks ice cold but no microwaves. I love the small touches and attention to detail at this hotel. The fact that th3 key card sleeve cut out spot makes it look like an old school hotel key chain was awesome. We will definitely stay here again.

Room temperature maintained by a gas fireplace controlled by the wall thermostat. Cozy vibes. Pretty spacious room for relaxing after being out, with a separate table and chairs, which we used to play a board game. Furniture was newer and reasonably comfortable. Parking close to the rooms. Waterfront right across the street and a little cafe in walking distance for quite bites. Bathroom was standard but the water pressure was very low. You also have to open a high window to vent to avoid the alarm going off. Bed was comfortable and the room looked renovated. All in all, it worked out pretty well for a quick stay. TIP: The first floor rooms in the back are kind of below ground. Front faces the pool, but you have to go down stairs from parking to get to the room.

The room felt spacious without being overly large, and the live gas fireplace was perfect for an otherwise chilly spring day here in Lake Tahoe. The bathroom was OK--nothing special but nothing terrible either. Except maybe the shower, which had very little water pressure and hard to adjust temp control. I was an also a little disappointed that there wasn't an open lobby for checking in; everything for our stay was handled by phone. It was also a little weird to have to walk downstairs from the parking lot to our room, but it was fine. That said, our room was poolside and we also had a view of Lake Tahoe out our sliding glass door. All in all, for the great price we got I really can't complain. It's a great option--and walking distance to Pep's for breakfast is a big plus.

We could not ge a room anywhere else due to our trip being last minute but I ended up getting lucky and finding a room at Norfolk. Last time I was there the service sucked and the cabins were not up to par but this time it seemed to be much better. Before leaving I asked the front desk girl when they had made the changes and she told me that they were recently under new ownership. Finally some people buy that place that seem to know what they are doing. Keep up the good work and making changes!!!

We parked in the passenger drop off zone and the office was a few steps away. The brochure they gave use was outdated as there is no pottery place in the village anymore. The underground garage was nice as it was snowing. You can find an updated map in the village at the ski lift pass office. The ice rink was closed during our end of March visit and if you want food from a restaurant make sure it's before 6pm as the only thing open late is pizza. The movie theatre was nice but they only have kid shows. The hot tub and pool were closed in our unit so we had to walk over the the second pool by the main entrance to use that. The steam room was not working for the men there but was working by our unit in the gym area. We were to check out by 11am but your key card works after that so we were able to go back and get something we forgot.

We recently returned from a 5 night stay at Iron Horse North. Our unit was clean and quiet, except…read morefor some construction noise on the Monday before we left. We had a two bedroom unit. Furnishings were all comfortable. Internet worked well. Kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook several of our meals. The only downside was the resort was mostly closed up. There were three restaurants that were open during out stay, Petra, Rubicon Pizza and a Mexican place. The Mexican restaurant was good, but only open 11-4 on weekdays. One of the weekend days it was closed due to a plumbing issue. Rubicon was great, but the menu is a little limited aside from pizza. Petra just wasn't our type of place. There was a general market open until 6pm, and a froyo place. I'm not sure how much of the closures were due to Covid or just summer in general. This was the end of a week + trip for us, and I liked that I was able to do some of my laundry before heading home! We would definitely return!

The kitchen had all the plates, pots, and pans, but the only thing was they weren't clean upon arrival. I had to run everything in the dishwasher before preparing meals or drinking anything in the cups. The kids really loved the two sets of bunk beds in our rental. They even had kids' books and toys already in the house. I killed two mosquitoes in the downstairs bathroom, but luckily didn't get any bites. Also, I think the cleaners that ''cleaned'' before we arrived were not thorough because there were layers of dust on the cabinets and shelves, dressers and counter tops. Otherwise, the jacuzzi and the balcony view were fabulous. So close to North Star resort, it's ridiculous. Not that far to the Lake and other fun stuff. A nice, welcoming touch was the binder with pertinent information about the town and the rental home.
