Found this place in a Vacation Rental by Owner web site for a portion of my snowboard trip. Dean…read morethe owner was very nice and friendly. He greeted and welcomed us and showed us all the amenities and told us about grocery stores and places to eat in the area. He and his wife live upstairs and have done a great job converting their garage into a nice vacation rental. The one thing the stands out the most is attention to detail, from the free wifi, keyless entry, comfortable bed and futon couch / bed. The place comes furnished with a full size refrigerator, microwave and large toaster oven, silverware, plates, knives and other basic kitchen tools. They have paid attention to the small things like fresh coffee beans, coffee grinder, tea and hot water pot. In the bathroom the towels are super soft and they have nice fragrant body washes shampoo and conditioners from Trader Joes, even deep moisturizing lotion (cause they know its dry out there). The large studio type area is sectioned off with shoji door screens to separate the living room area from the bed. The bed is comfortable, clean and the blankets are really heavy and warm. The futon couch converts into a bed as well and there are extra blankets and pillows for that too. The living room area is riddled with fun things to do iron puzzles, board games, and even a foosball table! There are even booklets from the surrounding area with information on places to eat and activities. They have also put together an information booklet, on the place. How to convert the futon couch to a bed, and so on. Very well though out and very useful. I especially appreciated the LEDs in the light switches, so you could find them in the middle of the night and also to avoid walking into the central post they were on. Like i said the little things. It easily sleeps 4, i think the other regular couch might also open up to a bed too to sleep 6 but not sure. It was just a short drive to Squaw and Sugar Bowl, which was nice and much cheeper than staying at the resort. Overall really nice charming VRBO that goes just a little bit further. A loft with four twin beds. Two bathrooms. Great amphitheater style entertainment area. Back porch has a BBQ grill and dining area. Wifi included. One thing missing is a hot tub/ jacuzzi. Other downside is the floor upstairs creaks so you hear all movement upstairs from the downstairs bedrooms. Other than that, excellent rental spot for summer or winter. Two cars fit in the parking area, with more parking along the street. I don't believe there is a minimum number of nights you need to stay to rent this cabin. Major plus!

The house was really easy to find and located in a great spot in Kings Beach. Our hosts vacation home is beautiful. All the amenities you need are there. The house was very clean and is well taken care of. They even had a pack n play for our daughter. Great family room downstairs with toys, Wi, board games, foosball table. The great room upstairs is stately and the open floor plan keeps you connected to your loved ones while in the kitchen. The kitchen is well appointed. The master bedroom was large and the master bath is well laid out with a large soaking tub. This house has a two car garage which is a great find for kings beach, especially after the snow this year has brought the sierras. The porch has a large patio table and umbrella with a BBQ. We are planning our summer trip now and this will be utilized for sure next time! We stayed in early spring and the sun was shining. We walked down to the lake with our daughter of 20 months. The new sidewalks all over Kings Beach make this totally walkable. We walked to Safeway, CVS, Java Hut, to a great playground on the lake. We enjoyed an awesome burrito and La Mexicana (a very small taqueria but truly authentic). We ate a great brunch at Log Cabin (you can call ahead and asked to be but on the wait list, they don't take reservations but This will save you time). We spent a day snowboarding at Northstar. We drove as we stayed midweek, but you can also use the Northstar transit or the TART system to get there and back for busy weekends. Needless to say, we will be back with another family as there is plenty of room for all! Thank you to our hosts for such an incredible stay. This is the best place I've stayed at in Tahoe!

I signed the agreement, noticed that the number of people was 1 with dogs but did not see a spot to change the number of people, so I signed and communicated via email with Waters on the number of people and dogs. Waters responded that there was a 2 dog limit and they were canceling the reservation. I tried calling and emailing to discuss since I was more than willing to adhere to the dog limit. After repeated attempts via email and phone, I was unable to have a reasonable conversation with anyone from Waters. Now it's less than 2 weeks from my trip date and I have to try and find another accommodation that meets our needs.

They had a wide selection of dog-friendly cabins, and the area where we ended up at - Carnelian Bay - turned out to be a very dog-friendly area indeed. Pups freely roam the neighborhood where our cabin was situated, and there was many a healthy dog poop lining the snowy trails. Booking over the Internet is quick and efficient. We received a prompt reply and follow-up call after our first email, and were quickly able to arrange to send in our deposit and book our cabin. Take careful note of the amenities listed for the various properties - the lists for each are long and varied, and it's easy to make assumptions about say - high speed internet being available when it's not ubiquitous for all the cabins listed. We received explicit instructions once we sent in our deposit, and I have to strongly recommend that you follow the directions provided rather than relying on Google Maps. The cabin we stayed in - Cedar Lodge - was simply gorgeous, immaculate, and spacious, with an amazing modern kitchen (stainless-steel appliances and large kitchen island - perfect for a group with folks who love to cook and eat. Other places may advertise that a certain property may sleep -- say 10, but 2 may actually end up having to sleep on the couch. This place advertised for 10, and provided a bed for each of 10 folks (a mix of singles and couples) very nicely. The huge couch, too, was a sleeper sofa, so in reality we could have housed 12 quite comfortably. The lease, however, only limited our numbers to the max advertised, on the danger of losing our deposit. We arrived to a nice welcome of complimentary pinot and doggie cookies. All in all, we'd definitely rent from this company - with their lovely dog-friendly properties - again and again.
