We were lucky and our friends booked a 4-bedroom unit here. They were unable to use it and gave it to us for the weekend. COMMENCE UBER SOFT FLUFFY GINORMOUS RELAXING WEEKEND OF LUXURY. The two of us bounced and flounced on all the fluffy king and queen sized beds (SOOOO SOFT, dare I say, better than the heavenly beds at the SPG hotels?), we cooked up a feast in the kitchen, lounged on all the amazing sofas. The TVs were modern and large with all the connections we needed. There seemed to be an unlimited amount of towels, hair dryers, hair towels, etc etc... and there were a couple wonderful & lovely hot tubs. Amazing. This is, in short, the most amazing winter vacation spot there is. Coupled with easy access in and out (rivaled only by the Ritz Carlton), an amazing ski valet system, and the wonderful hospitality of the nice staff, everything was provided for. Favorite was lounging outside on the balcony with a lit up fire place. It was delightfully freezing with a source of wonderful warmth! Did I mention the view? I didn't? Well that's what really brings everything together. It is unparalleled... the lights at night, the winter wonderland surrounding you, the starry night above you. Trash. Don't stay here. It's not the Ritz Residences. If you've ever stayed at a Ritz Residence, like the ones in Aspen, you'll be sorely disappointed. They'll also make it very clear that they want you to rent through their service, not via AirBnb. Despite the fact that renting an OWNED condo via Airbnb for 5 nights costs approx $13,000, so you'd assume the front desk staff understands that it's probably a good sales opportunity for them if they had manners Instead, they trashed the owner to us (which, ew). Wouldn't even take the trash out. Let us know on multiple occasions that no amenities were open to us because we didn't rent through THEM. Also, the ritz is overcrowded and understaffed in the holidays. Go to aspen instead. read more

Our stay here was amazing! Our 2 adult, 2 kid family stayed with another family in a beautiful 4 bedroom unit. Each couple had their own master suite and the kids had their choice of a bunkbed room to sleep 6 or another large room with I believe a queen size bed. There are 2 separate wings so a stay with another family feels like you have your own private area. The service was impeccable from the concierge to the ski valet to the resort valet. All were incredibly friendly and helpful always remembering our names and preferences. I love that you can ski right up the resort and while someone is helping you with your equipment you are looking over your selection of hot cocoa or cider! One day there was even a craft activity for the kids and complimentary wine for the adults! We were all thrilled! read more

Our recent stay at Constellation again surpassed our expectations! It is hard to put into words the level of service and attention to detail that the entire staff consistently provides. We have stayed here several times, and each time we are blown away. For our last trip we stayed in a new suite, room 4103, that elevated everything to a new level. It is a true ski in/ski out unit. The ski valet brought our skis/boards, heated boots, and dried gloves to us on the back patio. Another big plus was we were able to send the kids right out the back door to play (it would be perfect if we had a dog); as our son said, "Northstar is our backyard." - Pretty amazing having the best ski resort in Tahoe as your backyard! read more

The lap of luxury with absolutely everything you need and more. My husband and I stayed here for our birthday celebration and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing perfect birthday. To begin the views are stunning with the gondola just steps away from the hotel. The staff greets you with open arms and are very interested in helping with your every need. We stayed in January and took the gondola, which is free and runs till 10pm, down to the Village at NorthStar for dinner, utilized the spa and pools at the Ritz and had an in room massage. I had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Constellation Residences at Northstar. I can honestly say that I have never had a staff anywhere that was more attentive to my every whim as the staff at the Constellation Residences. I was there in summer which was beautiful and relaxing and I can only imagine what the avid skier would experience in winter. The lifts are literally out the back door and you have your own ski-valet. No schlepping equipment everywhere. It is all taken care of for you. read more

Loved staying here! Everyone was friendly and helpful from the time we arrived to the moment we drove away. The four bedroom unit where we stayed with two other families was spacious enough for all of us to share common time together, but also gave us time and space to find a little quiet when we wanted. The views of the slopes were beautiful. And you could roll out of bed and be skiing in minutes thanks to the location right next to the Big Easy! I can't say enough nice things about the site and the staff. I hope we get back soon. read more

My family (daughter and fiancee, son and girlfriend, husband and I) stayed 12/28/2012-1/2/2013 at the Constellation this winter. What a GREAT and PERFECT experience! We work hard, all of us, so having one week vacation is truly critical as to how we spend our hard earned dollars! 100% I can say that everyone had the best time thanks to the terrific staff, accomodations and overall ambiance. All of the concierges were accomodating, kind and friendly (Christine and Jeff). The ski staff (Bryan and new man from Cuba) A++++...Valets and bell staff ( Eric) outstanding and the accomodations are absolutely perfect...direct TV is the best (wish they had the NFL package, but that might be a bit much). Managers are absolutely on top of it (Jessica and Ruben). The ice maker did not work the whole time, but they sent up ice for us at will, which speaks to the quality of the service. Twice daily maid service, walk over to the Ritz Carlton for a terrific meal at Manzanita or in the lobby and the SPA and work out facilty top notch. I want to start with the staff. Enough cannot really be said about the concierge staff. They made every effort to make our trip pleasurable. Prompt and friendly service every day. Geoff went out of his way to help us with my daughters bday plans including a cake. Brian and the other ski concierge staff had us up and running every day. And the bellmen and housekeeping staff were over accommodating. The midmountain location was ski in and ski out with access to northstar's restaurants and lifts to the rest of the mountain. The access to The Ritz Hotel was a bonus with pools, hot tubs, spa and 5pm s'mores at the fire pit. All this and easy access to Northstar Village by gondola with many more restaurants, ice/roller skating rink, shops, theater... Over all a GREAT family destination. read more

The pool, gym and spa at the Ritz-Carlton are incredible and the views are gorgeous. We can't say enough good things about this property and its staff. We went to the residences over Thanksgiving this year with our family - a group of 7 adults and a 9-month old baby. Even before we got to Northstar, I wanted to write a glowing review because of all the help I received from the staff prior to even traveling there. Christine, Ruben and the rest of the staff helped me to make Thanksgiving meal reservations, ski rentals and lesson reservations, and baby equipment rentals. Everything was perfect and hassle free. The staff were always attentive, friendly and available. The residences themselves are also fabulous. We stayed at the Ritz hotel for a couple of nights prior to moving over to the condo and were so happy to make the switch to Constellation (the staff at Constellation also made this transition seamless but bringing all of our luggage over for us). Having the 3 bedroom condo was SO much better and more comfortable than 3 hotel rooms at the Ritz. Especially for my 9-month old baby - we had much more space in the master at Constellation than we did at the Ritz. The set up with a baby was much more convenient at the condo than at the Ritz. We were also able to save some money by cooking in our kitchen once we got to the condos (kitchen was also well stocked). Your dining-out options in the immediate area are limited, so this was a huge plus. The village at Northstar is quaint and a fun option - and is accessible via the gondola right outside the front door of Constellation. But most of the limited amount of restaurants in the village close by 5 pm, so your dinner options are few - which is why having the kitchen was a must for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms are just as comfortable, if not more so, than the Ritz. The bathrooms also have heated floors, which was great - and just felt luxurious! The Direct TV worked great and we watched many football games in HD on our TV in the living room (another plus for Constellation over the Ritz). We went skiing during the early part of the season, so there were only 7-10 runs open at any time, but we had a great time skiing regardless. The ski in/ski out valet makes skiing convenient and helps you to not feel trapped into skiing all day. The spa at the Ritz is pricey, but is definitely worth a trip. We all really enjoyed our treatments and the time we spent just relaxing in the spa's amenities. Overall, I cannot recommend Constellation Residences at Northstar enough. My family has travelled all over the world and been to many 5-star resorts, and we can't stop talking about what a great time we had here. And we can't wait to return!!! We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the Tahoe area. read more

We absolutely love our visits to Constellation. The incredible staff makes you feel completely pampered from the moment you arrive. There is no better ski vacation! The bellman takes your skis from your car and they magically appear steps from the snow when you are ready to ski! You simply walk downstairs in your slippers to find your equipment ready for you to step in to! The gondola which connects to Northstar Village is just steps away. A quick ride down the hill to ice skating, restaurants and shopping. The fabulous Ritz Carlton hotel is next door, with all the amenities for you to use... restaurants, pool, spa! The man made show is surprisingly good this season. The lifts are all open and there are no crowds. The warm weather is giving us spring skiing conditions in January! I had a wonderful long weekend stay here a few weeks ago. I never wanted to leave. It was the best vacation I have taken in a long time, and a huge part of that was the great environment that the Constellation provides. We stayed in a three bedroom unit. The space was so comfortable and created a great environment. The design is beautiful. The rooms are so quiet and relaxing. The layout is amazing if you are traveling with a group and want some privacy, but also like to have a community space. Having the kitchen, living area made us never want to leave the hotel. After spending the day out at the lake, we returned to cook meals in the hotel, which made traveling with a 2 year old so much easier and more comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect. We had a balcony with the most amazing view. There is easy access to the gondola to The Village at Northstar. The staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful. I did not want to leave. Ever. I am already looking forward to my next visit when I will hopefully be able to stay for longer. read more

We could not have been more impressed with the service we received at the Constellation Residences! From the moment we arrived, and even hours after we had checked out, they were ATTENTIVE in a way you just can't find at very many establishments anymore. And they seemed genuinely sincere in their help. Our housekeeper, Consuela was patient, quick, and stopped by twice a day to tidy up our space. Erik at the front desk, and Matthew our valet were phenomenal as well. Could not have had a better time, or felt more cared for than we did this past weekend... and all 10 of us that stayed in Building 4 can say the same. What a fantastic experience! We arrived late to have the bellman greet us and take care of "everything" and the concierge walk us up to our room. Such a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We met another family that we stayed with us and it really felt as if we were in the same place but different, with each family staying in it's own separate wing. The ambiance of the reception area and the place was well furnished and very comfortable. So convenient to access Northstar ski resort and the Gondola is so helpful to get down to the Village. I would highly recommend spending a weekend here to relax, have fun, and get comfortable! read more

If I could give 6 stars I would!! We rented the 4 bedroom 2500 square foot unit that overlooked the ski mountain. Incredible views- Incredible location. If you hate waiting for everyone in the morning (like me), loading ski's in the car (like me), finding parking, schlepping ski's to the ticket line, etc. then this place is for you as it is truly Ski in/out. What makes it better is you walk downstairs where the ski Concierge has your ski boots warmed up and your ski's laying out side waiting for you to step into them.. If you need a snack/lunch a quick run up to the room is all it takes and you save about $50 by preparing your own sandwich vs. eating at the lodge (with everyone else) The property is amazing, quiet, connected to the Ritz Carlton (which you get to use all their amenities), and has its own gondola to take you down the hill if you want spend time in the Northstar village (cinema, ice skating, restaurants, and Starbucks!). All 3 of my kids learned to ski right outside the door on "The Big Easy" Green chair lift, while Grandma/Grandpa could sit on the balcony and watch. My 4 year old was able to go out for a couple of hours, and then go back inside to rest, and then come right back out!! Again, so convenient without being crammed into a hotel room. Great place to make memories. I could go on and on about this place... Twice daily maid service (yes they do the dishes and unload the dishwasher), fresh chocolate chip cookies in the lobby, full gym, heated floors, super comfortable beds, fancy bathrooms, flat screens in every room, games for the kids, stocked kitchen for cooking your own meals (except spices-- should stock with some basics :), etc. etc. If you want convenience, location, and are traveling with kids, you will Love it here.. This is by far the nicest high-end place anywhere in the Tahoe region. Excellent, spacious residences that are beautifully and tastefully furnished. The staff is super friendly and works hard to over-satisfy your every request. The Ritz Carlton is exclusive already, but the Constellation Residence is the exclusive part within the Ritz/Constellation complex. I will definitely come back. Yes it was expensive for me, but the value of the facility and the service was easily more than enough to justify it. read more

We had a wonderfully comfortable stay in a beautifully furnished 3 bedroom unit on our trip to Truckee recently for a close friend's wedding. We felt as though we were staying in a private luxury designer-decorated home. The ride on the gondola to get to the Village at Northstar was a great way to bypass using our car. Lots of activities and shops to take in. Our stay at Constellation was enjoyable from the time Robin, the reservations manager, and Shane, our valet/bellman, met us at the curb on our arrival until our departure. All Constellation employees we encountered during our stay were "over-the-top" friendly and wanted to do all they could to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Lauren & Bill at the front desk were both helpful in providing information when we had questions regarding our lodging, the amenities or activities in Northstar Village. Andrew, also our valet/bellman was equally accommodating in helping us with luggage and our car on our departure. Each of the employees had a smile on their faces whenever we encountered them. Their customer service was the best we've experienced and will be something we remember for future trips to the Truckee/Tahoe area. Thank you, Constellation staff! read more
