After baby arrived there were so many options and talented photographers. Boy are we glad we chose Bits of Magic Image-- Gladys is the most patient and amazing baby whisperer ever! When you first begin the journey to partnering with her to capture baby's picture- she has a questionnaire you fill out before you arrive. That way she knows what your expectations and desires are. We didnt have a nursery color but i love jewel tones- so thats what we listed. You can also bring family heirlooms or any piece you want baby to be photographed in or with. This is crucial because she has many options, colors, backgrounds etc. Being clear on what you want will help Gladys set her imagination to capture what your heart is expecting. She also issues a paypal invoice that you pay before you show up- that way everything is handled and you can focus on baby during the shoot. The studio is kept at a really nice.m warm temperature and there is even a white noise machine set up running in the background. Through the shoot, our baby was a little fussy- Gladys magically swaddled, sang to her, rocked her all while arranging our baby girl in perfect poses in wonderful basket/ beanbag set ups with gorgeous jewel tone colors. It was exactly what i asked for and expected. We even got a few pictures of my husband and i holding baby-- extra family shots thrown in. Gladys goes above and beyond to communicate clearly what to expect, every step that she is doing with baby so you know whats going on with your precious one. Everything is professionally handled and awesome! You get the digital copies so you can choose to print out as many copies or sizes as you wish. Within 5 days she had a sneak peak up for you on her blog and in less than 4 weeks I had my photos on a CD so that I could print them out. I found her to be very reasonable priced. They came to our home and had tons of ideas on different shots, props, lighting, positions, etc. They were consummate professionals but at the same time were light-hearted and fun. They have a young son as well and so are FABULOUS with kids-my daughter took to Veronica instantly and would have done anything she asked. I thought it would be a bit awkward to be the 'models', but they do a great job at making you feel totally comfortable. I was speechless when I first saw the proofs from our session. Like, jaw on the floor speechless. Veronica was able to capture our personalities, our hearts, and our love for each other (and some days that's saying a lot!) in the most unique way. I was looking to take in-studio maternity photos near Los Gatos and filled out a few inquiry forms. Another photographer responded, gave available dates, and asked for a deposit. I put that session on my calendar and then Gaby called me. She took the time to get to know me, ask about my pregnancy journey, wanted to see a Pinterest board of pictures I liked, then asked to come over to see my belly. She said she likes to book sessions based on belly size, not by week of pregnancy because everyone grows at different rates. This level of personalization and thoughtfulness made me cancel my initial booking and go with Gaby. And I am so grateful this is how she works because when she saw me, she said my belly is already big and we should take the shoot next week. Much sooner than I thought - 24 weeks, but I am so so glad to have done photos earlier because now at 28 weeks, I feel swollen and way less attractive, and my initial booking with the other photographer wouldn't have been until week 32! A few highlights of my experience with Gaby: - Wardrobe consultation was extremely helpful and took the stress off me to figure out what to wear and how to match my husband. - In-studio hair and makeup were provided so it was one less thing to worry about day-of and book separately. Her artist is also sooo talented and did a great job. - Gaby provided a bottle of red wine for my husband while he waited for my hair and makeup. He LOVED it and had a blast drinking the bottle throughout the shoot. This and the little touches like robe and slippers, snacks, and drinks made our shoot so much more relaxed and enjoyable. - I thought my Pinterest board was just for inspiration. What surprised me was Gaby took the time and energy to basically recreate every picture and pose I liked. Setting up the shoot, lighting, everything. My husband and I are also not super comfortable in front of the camera and she was so patient directing us, fixing hair, and making adjustments. - We could not be happier with how our pictures turned out.
