BEST DONUT SHOP EVER. Try and change my mind. This donut shop is supreme. They reign over trendy donut shops from Donut Friend and Colorado Donuts in the area. It's the dough. The service and ambiance is like any other hole in the wall shop, but this has been my shop since the 90s. I've tried every donut shop that has come through in the area, Big Mamas on Fig isn't bad, but no one can compare to the original glaze of Christy's Donut. We stopped here early morning to get a couple dozen donuts. They have good variety and everything is fresh! The service was outstanding, the gentleman gave us a couple free donuts which wasn't necessary but very nice of him! If you need to buy a ton of donuts in advance, this is the place to go! I needed 14 dozen donuts made for a high school event, and I needed them early in the morning. I was able to place the order the day before, pay in advance and then picked them up around 530am. They placed all of them in my car so I didn't have to worry about carrying them in and out of the store. Very friendly staff and great service. Every time I go to this shop the donuts are of superb quality--they are baked exactly as they should be and there is the proper amount of frosting. Donuts should not be heavy handed and should be just enough to get you to want to come back. This shop gets it right. read more

While waiting, the young man was on his phone laughing, as I watched him pick his nose and look as his finger to see if he got what he was picking for. He looked over at me, I asked him if he was going to wash his hands and smiled and said yes and walked away. Another guy walked in to helped and I told him that the other guy was picking his nose and just brushed off my concerns. Really concerning that there was no regards for what I just witnessed. I wish I'd taken pictures of the 16 dozen donuts I'd just put into my trunk from Christy's Donuts. A week prior, I'd heard about the Tou family's loss, I wanted to do something to help, so I asked the folks at my school if they'd be willing to spring for some donuts for faculty and staff. Lo and behold, they said yes. So there I was, loading a collection of the most beautiful donuts I'd ever seen into my humble SUV - Glazed, Strawberry, Old-Fashioned (my favorite), Chocolate with coconut, Chocolate with sprinkles, Maple, and so many more. I drove with the utmost care to my destination so I could safely deliver these gastronomic delights to the awesome folks I work with. We set the goods out and so many smiles were bright with childlike glee. Later that afternoon, I went to check on how many donuts were left. This place has great customer interactions and very friendly but I was disappointed this morning when I purchased a Boston creme donut and a Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino drink for $5.50 total. The donut tasted not so good which was very oily and creme did not taste that great. Rest of the varieties I had at this place are good but this donut today was not good at all. read more

It's across the street from the not so super 'El Super' on the corner in the shopping plaza where the Subway and the Domino's Pizza are. The Maple Bars are the size of your face! This is one of the best donuts I've ever had. Their glaze is classic yet unique. I also got a big fluffy croissant which was really good. Great mom and pop donut shop in Highland Park. I bought two dozen donuts for work and was given two additional donuts per dozen for free. Each dozen was $9. This shop is popular with local who like to start off their morning with a cup of coffee and with students who attend the nearby High School.
