I have been having Maria cut my hair for about one year now. Maria has so many great attributes that make her an ideal stylist. She does an exceptional job cutting my very thick, wavy hair. I get compliments regularly on my hair thanks for Maria's skill. She takes her time, listening to me to understand my desires; I never feel rushed when I come in. She is knowledgeable in the use of Aveda products and makes good recommendations, but she doesn't put a hard sale to get me to purchase products if you don't want to. I went to see Tiana for highlights during my first visit to the salon and was happy with the result. However, when it came to the bill, I was charged an additional $30+ for styling that I understood to be included. I was told another stylist had to do the styling because Tiana ran out of time. This extra charge was not mentioned beforehand, even though I had reviewed an itemized estimate that Tiana wrote at the time of making the appointment. Given that the appointment was already quite expensive, the unexpected charge was frustrating. I later contacted the manager and was eventually refunded, but it took additional time to resolve. Afterwards, I was told I could no longer schedule with Tiana and was offered appointments with other stylists instead. read more

I came in for a haircut transformation I had super long hair and I've had it for about four years and Maria made me feel very comfortable about the transformation and made me feel very happy about my hair, she did amazing. I was so excited to come in and get my hair cut by Maria as my mom has been coming to her frequently. Upon coming in Maria was professional and kind but unfortunately did not give me the haircut I requested making me leave in distress. I wanted to get my hair cut shoulder length and gave creative freedom with my only request being I HAD to be able to put in up in a pony tail for my job and it is a requirement of my workplace. I left with a very short bob and a whole 3 weeks later I am still struggling at my job due to the lack of awareness Maria had in the importance of my hair length. Tiana ruined my hair. I went in with shoulder length hair for a trim and came out with an inverted bob. She didn't listen to a word I said, she just did her own thing and gave me a cut that was popular in the 80's. I look like I have a bowl on my head. Update from late 2021: Still not practicing COVID protocols. I went in solely to pick up products and the stylist, who was working with a client, walked over to the counter near me and the cashier, took off her mask, blew her nose, and walked (maskless) back to her customer before putting her mask back on. I didn't see her sanitize her hands. If you need to blow your nose, go into the bathroom. Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Put your mask back on before going back into the salon. DO NOT GET A BLONDE HAIR SERVICE FROM JAMIE. Unfortunately I had a really disappointing experience at this salon with Jamie. When I called to schedule I specifically asked for someone with blondes, and I was already a icy platinum blonde to begin with it was a little yellow when I went in just because I hadn't used a purple shampoo in a while, I wanted to add a little dimension to the root and still have my hair match my blonde extensions which I brought in. She turned my hair dark gray and the picture I provided doesn't do justice. So not only was it an insanely bad experience it was also highway robbery! I spent $300 dollars on a shit job. I finally got through today, and was left on hold for 15 minutes (finally had to hang up). The online appt scheduling didn't work on my phone, either. My review is specifically for my experience with Denise D. I've been getting my hair lightened and trimmed for a couple of years with Denise now. Denise is professional, makes you feel comfortable, really listens and does all that's possible to make you happy with the outcome of your investment in the service. She is very solid at lightening and cutting hair. I typically get my hair foiled for a well blended cool tone blonde. I understand she also does balayage and I hope to get that next - now that my hair is where I want to maintain it. I have medium to long hair and she also gives me a trim that includes shaping and thinning the weight, when needed. My natural brown is dark and warm and she's been able to achieve a cool tone for the highlights, which is 100% important to me :) What I enjoy most about Denise and why I continue to work with her, is because she is very nice, pleasant, listens to my needs and wants, and does her very best to deliver the résults or set me on a reasonable plan of how to achieve a desired look. The placement of color not only looks beautiful when done, but makes the grow out more natural. I have been going to Chroma for about a year now to see Tiana. I keep the bottom half of my hair bleached so I can use temporary colour on it myself, but keeping the top half my natural colour to preserve my cool grey streak. In the past I have found that hard to explain to hairstylists without getting judged or them getting confused, but Tiana has been extremely on the ball about my hair goals and very helpful in terms of recommending updates based on how I part my hair and temporary dyes I can try that are healthy for my hair, not to mention helping me with colour theory to understand how I can transition best between different colours. I've been so happy about my experience that I was telling my sister who lives out of town about her, and so my sister decided to come and get a shag cut from Tiana because her stylist back home thought it wouldn't look good on curly hair. Tiana did such a fantastic job on her that I decided I also wanted a shag, and the cuts were so well designed that my sister and I both rocked them in and out of the water when we went to Hawai'i the following week. It has been six months and I still feel like this is the best haircut I have gotten in my life. Tiana is also extremely personable but also doesn't yammer your ear off if you don't want to hear it. Sorely disappointed. I granted full authority to my stylist to do whatever she thought would look good with one caveat - that it look natural. The resulting color was blotchy and uneven. I could not immediately return due to covid restrictions, but I did reach out to them on their website. I have received no response. The "layers" consisted of 1/2" on one side of my hair. The cut & color ran $260 and I am embarrassed to go out in public. The staff, however, were nice and hospitable, serving a delicious cup of tea specially blended for the salon. read more
