    WOW! CHRSteak is definitely a must try! Today we experienced their Mother's Day Brunch and it was unforgettable. When you go, ask for Christina as your server. We had the Lobster Benedict and Biscuits and Gravy and both were absolutely phenomenal! Enjoy the mouth watering pics.

    Came across this place one day walking by and since then have been curious to try it. Made reservations on Valentine's Day. At first glance, it looks very nice outside, you can even see the dry ager with the beef and salt blocks! Inside is nice, bar area, clean bathrooms. Staff was very helpful! I got the dry aged bone in New York, which was good but they left a lot of the hard dry parts which was unpleasant. Got it medium but looked a little over cooked. Comes with their homemade steak sauce which was very good. Wife got the rib eye which was tender and well cooked! We shared a side order of lobster truffle Mac and cheese and was super flavorful and plenty of lobster meat. Roasted bone marrows where rich and wonderful! Oysters where fresh, complimentary bread. Drinks also good. They say they have a dress code but didn't really seemed to enforce it lol. But overall would try it again and try different items!

IMO it is a cuisine tailored to the show off chef, but that also means it must be done with flair, beauty and flavor. LOTS of flavor... and that's what was missing here tonight. The goat cheese croquettes were nice and the shrimp scampi was too, but is "nice" what the kitchen is hoping to hear? I'm thinking not. Even the blue cheese on the gorgeous wedge salad was a tad underwhelming. Three dishes and I did not finish even one of them. Now, to be fair, I have very high standards and a breadth of food experience, so if the kitchen insists I expect too much, they could be on to something. And honestly I'd bet this was a mid-week off night, so ultimately I suggest you give it a try and decide for yourself. For me, though, it came in just under the standard I'm looking for. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. But I'm rooting for them to get there!

I can officially stop saying, "I can't find great food in Northeast Georgia." The Stag has solved that problem. This place has undergone a total transformation since my last visit--new décor, new chef, new staff, and an entirely new menu. Hands down, one of the best meals I've had in the last five years. The Stag Salad was outstanding--beautiful greens, plenty of bacon and goat cheese, and the most delicious (clearly homemade) buttermilk ranch dressing. I don't usually get excited about salad, but don't sleep on this one. I ordered the seared sea bass, and wow--seared to absolute perfection. The crunch on the outside, moist and succulent on the inside... the best sea bass I've ever had. Chef's kiss. My friends ordered the salmon and the roasted chicken, and everyone was thrilled with their meals. None of us even ordered steaks--despite that being what they're known for--but the ones we saw looked flawless. The upstairs décor is beautiful, and last but definitely not least--ask for Mave.
