$$-$$$ I am not sure if there is more than one "The Blue Bicycle" in Georgia, but this Blue Bicycle is located in Dawsonville. I think giving this establishment three stars is stretching it a bit. If I could break down the stars given for this particular visit, it would be as follows : Five stars for service... Julia was fabulous and we were grateful that she was on top of taking good care of us. The rest of the staff seemed very nice as well. The ambience inside was small, but very nice and comfortable. Now for the bad news! We were the second couple seated in the restaurant because we waited outside for them to open thinking that a brunch on Sunday would be pretty busy. Georgia law states that a restaurant establishment cannot serve alcohol before 12 noon, so opening your doors at 10:30 for a Sunday brunch that serves mimosas is probably not a good idea, or make a statement that mimosas will not be served until after 12. It took forever for our food to arrive after we ordered. And let me tell you, when they say that the servings are small, they are not lying! My friend, Rich, is tall and slender and, like me, likes to have a good meal. The eggs Benedict should be called "egg Benedict". It is served on one english muffin with one poached egg and a piece of meat of your choice. The egg that I received on top of my Benedict looks like it had not been cooked thoroughly... the whites of the egg look like snot (my apologies if that grossed out anybody, but I write it like I see it). The yolk of the egg was fine, but I actually took apart the Benedict leaving the whites of the egg in the bowl that it was served. The fruit medley was a small dish of fruit with some kind of berry vinaigrette, but was very yummy. The wonderful people that I went with on this initial visit to The Blue Bicycle here Dawsonville deemed this visit "one and done". For the amount of food that is served at the price that they ask is out of my budget for brunch. Places like this make me think that the bottom line is not the customer, but the profit. Remember, this is my experience... You can certainly go find out for yourself. Make memories and safe journeys to all!

I've been coming here at least once or twice a month for the past few years. It appears there has been some change in front of house staffing and management so the service level has gone down a bit. The food is still fantastic but the service is not what I'd expect. The staff aren't dressed in any kind of uniform any more so it can be difficult to determine who works there and who is a guest. There were 4-5 people socializing at the hostess stand most of the night, but most of them were just leaving the seating to the teenager. She seemed to be struggling to get her work done, like having to hold multiple water glasses against her shirt to bring them to the table rather than having a tray to use. She also forgot a dirty dishrag on a table set for service at one point, then came back in a rush to get it but did not clean the table. One of the other people at the stand apparently had child care issues and brought her young daughter to work. The daughter was just hanging around the cramped front of the restaurant which doesn't seem to be a professional thing to do, she should have been given a place to sit out of the way of customers rather than having to stand around getting in the way. At the end of my meal while I was sitting at three table finishing my water and waiting for my companion to return from the restroom, one of the other hostesses came by and took my water glass away. I have never had that happen before but it felt like she was antsy to turn the table. The food is still excellent but due to the overall experience no longer being what I expect for the price point, I think I will take this restaurant out of my rotation while they get the kinks worked out on the service side.

The location, awesome reviews, and photos made it a no-brainer. My lunch companion and I decided to share the queso fundito and shrimp empanadas and both were great. The queso fundito came with roasted corn and a garlic toast while the shrimp empanadas were plated on top of a bed of salad. The empanadas were a nice size and I would totally order these just for myself for lunch. I added a shrimp tempura taco to round out my meal. It was juicy, a bit spicy because of the jalapeno mayo, and overall a nice way to end my meal. I'll wrap this up by congratulating them on landing a spot on Yelp's Best New Restaurants list for 2025. Only 100 businesses in the ENTIRE country get on the list - so this is huge. Based on my experience, well deserved. Definitely give them a visit soon!

The cauliflower appetizer was a hit with everyone and the portion was huge. I personally would have preferred it to be cooked a little less, as it was quite soft. The patatas bravas were decent. The tres leches cake was excellent and came as a generous slice. The milk was served on the side, which we poured over the cake. We shared it among six people, and it was just enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. Our server was very friendly, and the restaurant itself is really cute. Around 7pm on Saturday evening, just as we were leaving, a man and woman started performing live music with vocals and guitar. We were on our way to the Lou Sobh Amphitheater (just a quick walk over) to see a cover band, which made for a fun night out. This whole area in Cumming is a great place to hang out.

There is an open kitchen style towards the back of the restaurant, and at the center, there is a bar area. The restaurant is relatively dark, fair warning. There was a unique selection of appetizers and entrees. So I had a hard time choosing, but for appetizers we ended up getting Tuna Tower, Wagyu sliders, and the Goku roll. Naturally we were a bit dull after that, but I wanted to try an entree so I ordered the seafood gumbo and my partner ordered the lobster mac and cheese (he says he gets this here every time). All the appetizers we got were AMAZING. I don't have a single complaint about the taste, quality, or flavor. The display was also very neat and nice. I will say the lobster mac and cheese and the seafood gumbo were a bit too salty for my palate, but I can tell that the flavor was there. They were very generous with the seafood for every meal, so that was a plus. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and come again. There were so many other entrées and sushi rolls I wanted to try, so I will update this review as I do so!

Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we…read morethought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat.
