I bought my dress from Chryssie's bridal last Saturday and I couldn't be happier! Brynn was an angel- she is honest, professional, funny, and just an overall pleasure to work with. All the staff really, they were all happy to be there and happy to help. The dresses are gorgeous, they have a nice selection of great designers. The staff took their time with me, listened to what I had to say, and treated me and my family wonderfully. This was the fourth place I went (I had already gone to Grandasia in Quincy- they are good too, Alexandra's in Fall River- huge selection, and David's Bridal- nothing to write home about) and they knocked it out of the park. read more

I've been to MANY bridal shops over the course of the past 10 yrs and Chryssie's is definitely sub-par to the rest. When I walked in, many sales ladies were at the front desk chatting up one another and 2 customers. I stood behind them all, waiting my turn patiently until I wasn't acknowledged in 5 minutes, then figured I'd take matters into my own hands and see if the rest of the bridal party I belonged to was already around the salon somewhere. I breezed by the women & ran into a fellow bridesmaid who told me she had done the same thing after they had ignored her as well. The consultants at Chryssie's are ill-mannered & unprofessional in my opinion. They address you in a way that makes you feel like you're meeting them at a dive bar in the city and their attire in no way distinguishes them apart...I found it difficult deciphering customers from bridal consultants. Although I think Chryssie's has a good selection of gowns, bridesmaid & mob dresses, shoes & other accessories, the square footage is very small, cramped & quite weathered. I just recently got married a few weeks ago and dealt with Chryssie's bridal for both my wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. My experience began on a good note, back in November when I found and ordered a beautiful gown for a great price. The consultant was pleasant and personable, she even took $100 off the price of the dress if I ordered that week. Problems began a few months later with my bridesmaids dresses, and continued throughout my final fitting (4 days prior to my wedding!). I chose a dress that was sampled in cocktail length, but I wanted tea length for my girls. George, the owner, assured me that the dress did come in tea length. He even wrote "tea length" next to each girl's name on my bridemaids card. My MOH ordered hers with "extra length" hoping that it would be closer to a floor length gown, which is what she preferred. (George told us he would call the company to find out if the dress came in floor length, but we never heard back from him). When the dresses arrived, they were not tea length, but cocktail length (except for my MOH's, who's was tea length only bc she had ordered it with extra length)! George tried to tell me that this WAS tea length, which clearly it wasn't, since the dresses ended right at the knee, and the designer's website also describes them as cocktail length. My bridesmaids and I were clearly upset, as George had obviously led us to believe something that was not true, but instead of apologizing or trying to make the situation better, he basically just stood there staring at us, like it was US who misunderstood. You would think that, as the owner of this business, he would treat his customers with a little more respect. I ended up just keeping the dresses cocktail length, and my MOH had hers in tea length. Extremely frustrating. When my dress came in, it was much too big up top. I had to wait awhile at my first fitting appointment, because they never put my name into the appointment book. Lily, the seamstress pinned the dress up and assured me that she would take it in to fit perfectly. I went back 4 additional times, because each time I tried it on, it was still too big. Lily basically told me it was my fault because I had no "boobies." On top of that, she was late every single time I had a fitting. The last fitting, 4 days before my wedding, she was 40 minutes late and didn't even apologize or acknowledge that I had been waiting for so long long. In the end, the dress still wasn't perfect, but manageable. Finally, a minor gripe but annoying nonetheless, was the fact that there was an additional $60 added to my final payment for a "customized" dress, since I ordered it in petite. I was never told of this charge, nor was it even reflected on my initial receipt when I ordered the dress and gave them my deposit. Overall, I would not recommend Chryssie's Bridal to anyone. The prices are good, and the girls at the front desk are very nice, but the customer service is horrible, the owner is rude and doesn't appear to care about his clients at all, and the seamstress is inconsiderate and consistently late. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

My daughter and I went to Chrissie's last week, We didn't get a dress. It was our 2nd dress shop that day and the best dress shop. The staff made it great! They were extremely helpful, kind, without pressure, they really listened to my daughter. Unfortunately she couldn't make up her mind. Between both shops it was to many dresses, she was overwhelmed. They spent 2 1/2 hours without a sale, still being gracious the entire time. We will go back to this shop. read more

This place is an understaffed disaster. The first time I went in to try on Bridesmaid dresses - there were about 40 girls in the store looking for bridesmaid dresses, and 3 people working. The second time I went in it was also packed - and there was only 1 employee in the place! She was trying to help brides in the back, as well as the slew of girls looking at bridesmaid dresses in the front and trying to check people out! Both times I had appointments too. My 2nd trip there - they had lost my card, so the first girls who were fitted no longer had their measurement information on file. The owner told me on the phone that if I order my bridesmaid dresses by the end of March, I could have them in time for a July wedding. What he didn't tell me was that I had to pay a rush cut fee of $60.00 per dress to make this timeline work!!! I would have rushed in there if I knew about the additional fee- rather than waiting. I would definitely go somewhere else where they do not overbook appointments, and can spend time with the brides and bridesmaids. I ended up buying the bridesmaid dresses somewhere else. The dresses were $40.00 cheaper, and I had to pay $30.00 per dress as a rush cut fee instead of the $60.00 I was quoted at Chrissys. JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE read more

I have to say I was pretty nervous going into Chryssie's because of some the negative reviews. I was SO pleasantly surprised. Despite having to come in on a Sunday (which is only done by appointment) Marian was wonderful! I never felt rushed or like she was bothered by being there on A Sunday. She was so kind and really knew her stuff, she had a plan as to how to go about the process that really worked for me. I never felt pressured to buy (which I experienced elsewhere) and it was important to her to keep me on budget. I expressed a little wiggle room but she really made it a point to keep me at my original number. I don't know if there has been any turnover in terms of staff or not but I don't have a single bad word to say about My experience. I found my dress not expecting to and at a great price! I went to Chryssies to try on wedding dresses for the first time. Wow! Rude staff! They couln't keep track of which room I was in, even though it was a small shop with only one or two other brides in there at the same time... how will they keep track of a dress? I will most definitely NOT buy a dress there. Plus, this was supposed to be a trunk show... I don't think they brought in any extra dresses for it... it seems they just had their regular stock of dresses by that designer. My sister just bought a dress at David's Bridal in Nashua and I bought 2 Maid of Honor dresses there. What a difference! They were so professional and nice. Not like here! read more

I went to Chryssie's after being referred by a friend. The women there are very nice! George the owner is f** up. Anyway, they ordered my dress for me, after knocking a $100 off for buying it the same day. Cool, right? Not cool. They tell me my dress will be in in April, then it comes in around March, awesome. I call them the end of April to come in and try it on, I come in and call the day before they say come in at this time. So I come in for my appointment and it takes themn 30 mins to figure out that my dress isn't there, actually it hasn't arrived yet, whoops we called the wrong bride. They are idiots. Then my dress comes in the end of May, I come in and it is legit a size 12 when I ordered a size 6. (the size label was actually glued to the name brand label) Umm problem. They apologize and re-order me a dress, and it comes in in late August. My wedding was in October, I took my dress to a different tailor and had them alter it. Argh. Please don't go there. read more

I visited over a dozen bridal shops in the Boston area and this one was the worst. The saleswoman was incredibly pushy and just wanted to make a sale, she didn't care if I found a dress I really loved or not. If you don't purchase a dress on the spot, they insist you make another appointment to come back on another day, which I then had to call and cancel, because I had no intention of returning there. The store is in a smelly, dingy, crowded basement. Definitely skip Chryssie's in your hunt for the perfect wedding dress! read more

My daughter in law was the poor victim in this instance. I went with she and her mother for the first appointment and initial purchase of the wedding dress which was fine, however it was downhill from there. I'm no expert, but when I went with her for her first fitting there was an issue- the dress was enormous on her, apparently wrong measurements by the staff? However,after 4+ times of returning there they finally were able to get the dress size right, but not without a demand of more money for the mistakes in alterations which were made by them. My daughter in law is a tiny girl, ( size 2) whos weight was the same from the first measurements til the day the dress was finally delivered. Then there was the issue of another $400. Being owed before they could release the dress. The alterations had already been paid for prior to this last fitting. The owner told her she could not have the dress until another $400 was paid. The owner then took the dress out back, basically holding the dress hostage, until the $ was paid for the alterations. (More money for alterations which if their seamstress had done it right the first time there would not have been issues.) Her mother phoned in her credit card for payment. (unfortunately) After asking for the dress to be pressed, yes it was VERY wrinkled, the owner, a very rude and arrogant man refused to give my daughter in law a garment bag for the dress. Instead he gave her a pink garbage bag which she was using for travel( wedding was a 7 hour car ride with my son, her fiancé, whom she didn't want to see the dress). My daugher in law called me right after she left Chryssies and was crying and so upset by the way she was treated by this man, I told her I would call, so I did. I spoke to the rude and arrogant man and told him who I was and asked how could he treat a young bride who had just spent a significant amount of money on a dress and alterations the way he did. His response was obnoxious, and extremely inappropriate for the owner of a retail business- maybe he should find a new career? Not a bridal store I would reccomend to ANYONE. read more

I said yes to the dress here! Michelle was AMAZING! She listened to what I wanted and let me and my friend look through and pick out some dresses. I tried on one dress and she got my vision of something a little different. She said I have something in mind and I tried that other dress on and it was better than I could have imagined! She knew what looked good on me and picked out accessories that complemented the dress so well. At no time was there any pressure which I really appreciated. Their curvy section was great for brides that don't fit into size 10. Can't thank Michelle enough and can't wait to go back to show my mom and future mother in law! read more

Before I went wedding dress shopping in November I looked up different bridal shops outside of the city. I live in the city, but wanted to hopefully find something more affordable. I went to one bridal shop which I wasn't very pleased with, though I did find "the dress". I left, went to lunch, and then had my next appointment at Chryssie's. I was hesitant because I had read other Yelp reviews and knew that others didn't really care for the shop. We walked down the stairs and I ended up having to wait for about 5 minutes behind another family. I remember thinking this might be a bad start if they only have one person working the front desk...So finally it's my turn and I'm brought to the back where I can look through the dresses. I show the woman the dress I like and we begin to look. After going through the dresses I stumble upon "the dress" again. I try on other dresses but keep going back to "the dress". I decide this is it, but I want to go home and look online at the other colors, just to be sure. The owner is at the front desk and I ask him for his/the shop's card so that I may write down the dress. I also tell him that at the previous shop "the dress" was $750 and at his shop its $995. He states that they have the "lowest prices guaranteed". He tells me that he will match the other store and he doesn't even need to call them. I say okay, but I still want to go home first. Well then he tells me that if I buy it today, he will give it to me for $100 less, so $650! My aunt then asks him if he will make up for the deduction with my alterations. He tells us I don't even have to get the dress altered there if I don't want to. This pleases me and I give him my card. I leave happy that day and pleased with the shop. A couple of months later (February) my cousin and I go back so we can order the bridesmaid dresses. The girl we worked with was fantastic. She saw the dress I wanted and even though they didn't carry that design, she had my cousin try on other dresses with the same shape. She was very helpful and made the shopping experience quite fun. The owner was also kind enough to discount the bridesmaid dresses, albeit slightly less than I would have liked, but it was still nice to receive a discount.Fast forward to the end of April. My dress is due to arrive in the beginning of May. I was quite happy when the dress arrived early. The girl on the phone was very sweet and told me I could come pick it up whenever (all final payments are due in cash). She also tells me that the seamstress is only in on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7pm. This is actually their first negative point. How can the seamstress not be available on the weekend? So it looks like I'll be going with another seamstress. Anyway, I called the day before and spoke to a girl to double check my balance and the hours they are open on Thursday. She gave me my balance and then told me they are open until 8. I arrive on Thursday at 7:05. The woman working the front desk (the lady who sounds like she has a 3 pack a day habit) asks me what I want. I say I want to pick up my dress. She goes in the back to get it and when she returns she snaps "you should have called first, we lock these in the vault" I reply "I did call. Yesterday" She (again) snaps "well you should have called today". Really? Because the girl I talked to didn't say anything about dresses being locked in a vault. And why would they be locked away when you're still open for another hour? I then tell her I'd like to try on my dress. She retorts "you know it's not going to fit you right". Yes I know this. I know it needs alterations, but please it's been almost 6 months since I've even seen the dress. I'd like to just try it on. So I go into a fitting room and zip myself up. Realize how super pretty I am in this dress and do a little happy dance. Carefully of course because I don't want to rip anything. I get dressed again and Little Miss Sunshine is no where to be found. Thankfully the owner is at the front desk and he is able to help me put my dress back into the bag. We're chatting in the dressing room and the woman returns asking "what is going on, what are you doing". He's obviously helping me put the dress back in the bag. We exit the room and she tries to take my card from him to ring me up. He says no, that he will ring me up.I pay my balance and not once did they give me a hard time about not getting alterations done there, which was a nice surprise. Fast forward again to last week. I'm talking to one of my bridesmaids and I'm wondering if we should call to see when the dresses are coming in. The woman at the shop tells her they will be in June 20. Perfect! Well later that day I get a call from the shop saying the dresses are in! Wow. Okay! I show up on Saturday, get the dresses easily and the women were very pleasant. Overall, my experience at Chryssie's was pleasant. I would recommend them, but only after you've gone shopping at other stores since their prices tend to be higher. read more

I don't know what all of these bad reviews are about! Chryssie's was the first store I went to looking for dresses and I they had the dress I had been eyeing online. It was even more beautiful in person. I ended up going with that one and the sales associate knew it was "the one" but suggested I try on a few more to really make sure, which I appreciated. Yes, the decor was dreadful and they establishment needed a face lift, but the dress selection was great. Of course there were some gaudy dresses, but every store will have gaudy dresses. They also had simple lace dresses, classics satin dresses and the one I got which had a chapel train, button up back, floral motifs, and beading..perfection! You can't judge a book by it's cover and Chryssie's does not impress looks wise, but it's what's inside that counts! read more

Horrible customer service. Had an appointment for bridesmaid dresses and never received assistance nor a dressing room. Sample dresses came in only minimal sizes. George never followed up with us on a dressing room even though one became empty and free- my 2 girls changed in a single stall covered by a curtain! No one even said thank you or good bye when we left!! Funny how girls in there looking at expensive wedding dresses were getting groomed to the T though! Dirty, cluttered shop too. I am part of a bridal party and went to Chryssie's to pick out my bridesmaid's dress. I had a great expreience. George and his staff are very knowledgable about their designers and were able to provide imput when asked. This is now the 4th time my group of friends have purchased dresses from here and there is no doubt that the customer service here is the reason we keep coming back. Their staff is very patient and understanding when indecisiveness sets in. I know we will definitely be coming back, once we have another wedding on the horizon. read more

My sister bought her bridesmaids dress at chryssies and when we went to pick it up the woman that seemed to be in charge was very snippy about not having a receipt that we forgot in the car. Also when asked to try the dress on the same woman said these rooms are full because these people made appointments (full of attitude). There was one nice girl that helped us with our questions and this would be a much nicer place if the other staff was more like her. I only give 2 stars because the dress is beautiful. read more

I would not recommend going here for your bridemaids dresses. We had to order early in a group, which is fine, because it took a few months to come in. When I picked up my dress, I brought it home and hung it up in my closet, since the wedding at that point was still over 3 months away. When I finally decided to try on my dress a few weeks later, to go get my alterations (assuming it would only be the length that needed any work, since I gave them the size that I tried on in the store AND they took my measurements), I was swimming in my dress in the bust area! Just falling off of me. When I called to tell them about how my dress didn't fit right at all and how upset I was about it (because bridesmaids dresses are not cheap), the man I spoke with was very rude. He said it was ridiculous and unheard of that I didn't try it on the second that I brought it home, that I must have given the wrong size. No sir, I know my own dress size, and YOU people took my measurements. There shouldn't have been a problem and you shouldn't have been so rude about it. I will take my business else wear, and will encourage anyone else I know to never do business with them either. My experience was less than stellar. Very disappointed. read more

I was in a wedding party for my cousin and had the worst experience ever with this bridal shop. Not only did i have a bad experience, but the bride and one other bridesmaid as well. Not only was the customer service terrible, the dresses took sooo long to come in, the dresses came in the wrong sizes, and we were charged for re ordering even when the it wasn't our fault, but the owner was rude and called me fat!! I have never been so insulted in my life. They do not believe in customer satisfaction and will overcharge you for everything they can. Buyer beware!! read more

I think I might be the only one who liked Chyssie's. I especially thought Brynn was fantastic. She was very helpful and answered all of the questions that I had. Yes, the dresses are expensive. I needed a formal dress for a wedding that I am in, and it was pretty pricey, but it arrived quickly, and was exactly what I wanted. There is an older women who works at Chryssies (possibly the owner) who was krass, and made me feel uncomfortable, but overall I was happy with my experience, and would buy a dress from them again. read more

Chryssie's has great designer gowns at good prices. They often have trunk shows that give further discounts. I bought my gown, veil, and bridesmaids dresses from them, despite living more then three hours away. The problem comes from their customer service. The ladies working there and the owner, George, are all nice people. That said, they have issues. The shop is far too busy, and you often have to wait a long time to speak to someone. Even with an appointment, my first visit I had to wait almost half an hour. When trying on my gown when I went to pick it up, the employee assisting me kept getting pulled away to do other things. I confirmed three times with them that the color of bridemaid's gowns I wanted was available, only to get a call after I'd given them the money saying they weren't. They did arrange to have the designer specially make them for me and ate the extra cost - I give them credit for that. They said they'd call me when my veil came in, but never did. I needed it for my final fitting so I called to see when it would be in and lo and behold it had been in for "a while" and they'd never called. My mother, who also ordered her dress from them, had a horrible experience. She'd been told when she paid for her gown that it would be in in plenty of time. Then, when she checked on it later she found out it would arrive a week to two before the wedding, and she'd never been warned of this. She asked them to call and put a rush on it and she was willing to pay extra. They said it would be in and gave her a date. It was not in. When it finally did arrive and she went to pick it up they couldn't find it and it took them half an hour to give it to her. Chryssie's could be a great shop, but needs to be more consistent. I think if they trained their staff and didn't handle so many walk-in's they'd be better served. Take appointments and if someone walks in and you don't have time to help them, give them an appointment for later. They need better organization as a whole. read more

Wanted to share my terrific experience at Chryssie's Bridal Shop. I was looking for a Mother of the Bride dress that was classic but not old-fashioned and stuffy looking. I had seen a lovely dress, that was actually from more of a bridesmaid line, at a bridal shop on the North Shore in Newburyport. Wanting to shop closer to home, I looked up the dress on line and found that the Alexia dress line was carried at Chryssie's Bridal. Working without a "net" (my daughter, the bride, lives in Colorado, and my biggest helper, my sister, lives over an hour away) I dropped in to Chryssie's and not only found the exact dress but found Brynn, a lovely, calm, professional, courteous, confident, and stylish young lady. She really deserves and earned the accolades and spent a great deal of time over the next several weeks helping me "style" my look and accessories while we waited for the dress to arrive. Since I was on the late side ordering, I was very anxious about how the dress would fit and actually look on me, not to mention that I would need to choose shoes, jewelry, etc.before the dress arrived as there would not be enough time afterward. (Since the dresses you try on are SAMPLE sizes, it can be hard to know how the dress will truly look on you when it arrives!) Brynn was always patient, supportive, and encouraging with me and made me feel confident that I had made a great choice and that everything would "work". Between Brynn and Juliette the fantastic seamstress (who re-did the alterations after i changed my mind and decided on a slimmer look for the bottom part of the dress) my Mother of the Bride dress and look was PERFECT! These ladies were wonderful to work with and I am very grateful for their expertise, encouragement, and experience. When my beautiful daughter (the bride) saw me in my dress she got tears in her eyes and whispered "Mom you look AMAZING!".... well it doesn't get any better than that! Went in today. I sent Laurie via email the two dresses I was interested in, she said she had two similar dresses. When we got there, the place smelled like dog s--t and looked like a crack house from the 1970's with liquidated wedding dresses. I felt like she wanted to sell me something that was in stock vs what I had selected on the website, as she kept asking me questions when I told her I just wanted to try on the dresses I sent via email or something similar. Tried on the first dress, my friend tried to take a picture and Laurie totally flipped and rudely told us that we could take pictures ONLY AT THE END and then she went on mentioning how it would save battery life on the phones. Laurie went to look for the second dress and my friend took a picture while she was gone, when Laurie came back she told us rudely AGAIN to not take pictures and that she would end the appt if we did it again. I thought that I could still try on the second dress, but Laurie became very cold and frigid in the dressing room and said that my friend was slowing down the process by taking a picture and that Laurie only had a limited time with me. I asked how was she slowing down the process by taking a picture which only took TWO seconds while laurie was looking for another dress. We had waiting patiently for a good 15 minutes before the appt could even start. I only wanted to try on TWO dresses. Laurie withdrew the second dress from the second room and stormed off. I ONLY GOT TO TRY ON ONE DRESS. I ONLY WANTED TO TRY ON TWO DRESSES. This place does not have the decorum NOR dresses to act this snobby or rude. Selecting a wedding dress should be pleasant not a regrettable one and especially on NEW YEARS EVE. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Not only was I pressured into buying the dress by the extremely pushy owner.... My dress arrived over a month late... I then asked for them to add a little beading and to make my neckline more "sweetheart" The beading was so terrible and cheap looking I had to ask them to remove it, and the neckline was not only dirty from so many people handling my dress, it looked like a 6 year old had sewn it. Mind you this all was taking place 3 DAYS before my wedding - To make matters worse he still made us pay for the alterations, even though all they did was completely ruin my dress!! I wish I was able to give no stars. My experience started off like this. So we picked out a bridesmaid dress that everyone agreed on. Perfect. Everyone put a deposit for the dress. We then got a call a couple months later that they are in. I have the girls all call in before hand to pay off the remaining balance on their dresses so when I go in a couple of days later it will be all set. They have this completely stupid policy that if you want to take the dress home as soon as you pay if off you must pay in cash. Reason being that they were screwed over before that credit cards and debit cards were denied without them knowing and the girl got to take the dress home. Which is completely weird because they would get paid by the credit card company either way and the company would go after the customer....but ok its their policy so we went with it. Got to the shop to pick up the dresses and they said none of the girls paid off the balance. After a good ten minnutes the girl realized that the recipts were stapled on to the back of my paper and they were in fact paid for, except for one. So I left with all but one. After I left I realized that the one girl did in fact pay for her dress so I had to return to pick it up which I should have been able to leave with it in the first place. Annoyed to no end at this point. The problem was that I told them that the girls did pay them but was told I was basically lying and she would not look further into until we argued for awhile. Then the next day one of my bridesmaid unexpectedly passed away. So today I called to see what the return policy was because her parents are taking over her estate and the credit card bill came in. To help out her parents I ask Chryssie's if they would take back the dress. I had to have the owner call me since the receptionist was not sure what to do in this situation. Received a call back with the owner starting the conversation by saying, what do you want? Through out the entire conversation he was rude and made me feel like I was wasting his time. I understand that you have a no return policy but don't be unneccesarily mean about it. Please do not use them for any wedding needs. It will save you stress and time in the end. read more

Very helpful and accommodating! Bought my wedding dress and my bridesmaid dresses here. My wedding dress was almost half the cost from where we saw it at other bridal salons. I even showed up one day after traveling long distance with a few bridesmaids to look at a particular bridesmaid dress, to find it was closed for the holiday. The owner happened to be inside fixing displays and saw us outside trying to come up with a new plan. When I told him our mix-up, he opened up shop just for us, and let us browse through, try on our dresses, and even took measurements. Everyone is super sweet. I did feel a bit pressured on the timing of ordering the bridesmaid dresses (6 months early) and started the order early. Consultants were extremely rude! We had an appt for 630 and were told over the phone that it was an hour long. When we got there we were told we had a half hour and were very rushed. I tried on a dress that fit perfectly and they tried to get me to buy a dress 2 sizes bigger so I would have to have it altered there. If the other bridesmaids were not purchasing a dress there I would definitely be going somewhere else! They should learn how to treat their customers..... Especially if they are dropping a few hundred dollars! read more

Let me begin by saying I never write reviews. That is how upsetting my experience at Chryssies today was. I am a wedding planner/bride with a clear vision of what my wedding will look like. I came in today with my MOH two bridesmaids and my mom to look at bridesmaids dresses. My two bridesmaids are from out of state so we were hoping to purchase something while they were in town. We were barely greeted by anyone when we arrived and were ushered upstairs where there is one dressing room, barely large enough for one person to change in. Needless to say, it took a little while to get changed and options on in the limited space. After we had been there for about ten minutes, a short haired older woman who worked at Chryssies YELLED to us across the store "we have other girls coming in so you need to start putting dresses back!" I was appalled. Minutes later she came up the stairs asking who the bride was. I said me. She asks what my dress looks like and I said oh I don't have one yet. She laughed in my face they I would ever ALLOW my bridesmaids to select dresses before me. I explained to her we are all set, they will be selecting black dresses and that we are all set. She continued to make us all feel horrible for being there. To the point that my bridesmaid had to speak to someone at the front desk to remove this woman from us. We had another nice young girl , I believe her name was Magalee? Helping us who was so sweet and realized there was room downstairs in a much larger dressing room so we were very pleased. Once she helped us move down there, the first woman came over SCREAMING at the younger girl that we could not be there. The younger girl was mortified and so were we. She then approached us again moments later telling us we had to WRAP IT UP. We had been there MAYBE an hour at this point and had to be trying on dresses one at a time so it was nearly impossible to be done. All three of my girls ended up selecting their bridesmaid dresses but we refused to purchase them from such an establishment that would allow their staff to scream at and berate their clients. We will be purchasing elsewhere. If I could give less than one star I would. Basically, is place lost our business because of this horrible woman. read more

My fiance's review moved to the "other reviews that are not currently recommended" on the bottom that can't be viewed unless you expand it. I highly recommend you read those reviews along with the bad ones here. My fiance had seen the bad reviews and thought she would still give it a shot since we're in the South Shore. Big mistake. I'm sure some might get lucky and get a good experience, but those seem to be the exceptions at this store. Her review is listed under Maria T. After her bad experience, I also looked at Chryssie's Better Business Bureau reports - they're not an accredited business (I don't think many bridal stores are), but they still have a compliant listed, which is not a good sign. If that compliant is true, not only do they offer horrible customer service (Laurie), but they also do some shady business. We weren't able to make it past the first visit to see how their business dealings are. I usually trust yelp reviews, but find the good reviews here very suspicious. We noticed two good reviews pop up immediately after my fiance's bad review was posted. Hopefully this review won't get buried below in the "other reviews that are not currently recommended" as well since the point of yelp is to help customer avoid bad businesses. Only giving this a one star because I can't put zero. Let me just say.. Holy crap of a service. Not only do they not have good customer service.. They are liars!! My sister and I went in for a fitting beginning of May 15, we got our measurements and advised them to call my sister and I directly. They took the information down and said not a problem. Months go by and we get a call from my cousin stating the dress is available. Went in the following week and paid for the dresses. They told us have a great day. I was puzzled as to why they would not ask us to try the dresses on like any other bridal place.? We asked to try them on and they said sure. My sisters dress fit perfectly. My dress was HUGE! What the hell is going on here was my thought. We confronted the woman that wasted our time taking measurements and asked what is going on and why wasn't the dress altered like we were advised a few months prior? She said.. "Our seamstress left, do you have someone one that can fix the dress for you?" Are you kidding me? She started to noticed that my sister and I was not having it then went on to say she never said our dresses would be perfect. The owner comes out as if what ever bs he had to tell us was going to fly? We asked why were we not notified earlier? He stated He only deals with the bride. Is the bride paying for our dresses? No! The nerves of this fool. After arguing with him and clearly seeing that he did not know a damn thing we left. I don't care how much of a savings it is to go to this place compared to others. Spend the money and avoid the anger, shock and crappy customer service from this hell hole. This would of been longer but I'm not gonna waste anymore time taking about this horrible place. When i looked at the bridal store online i thought i was going to find my dress here. Little did i know that this was the worst dress shopping experience that both my mom and i encountered and we felt that we were being pushed out of the store and left within half hour of trying dresses. I was told by one of the woman with short hair of what she thought would look good on me and what wouldnt and did not pick out dresses that both my mom and i were interested in me trying. I was told to not take pictures of the dresses that i was trying on till the end and i feel that looking at the pictures helps me to decide whether i have found my dress. The woman kept opening the dressing room door without knocking and leaving the door open and this did not make me feel comfortable. I expressed how i felt with my worker but she did not seem to listen to me and wasnt able to read my body language. I also expressed that i didnt feel stable on the stepping stool as it was wobbly and she did not help me with this. I was very upset because i really liked a dress that i tried on and i wasnt able to take a picture of me wearing it and i felt pushed into buying it because it was 50% off and i was asked if i had found other dresses at other stores. I hope no one else gets a bad experience like i have. read more

have had a very poor experience with Chryssie's. Initially I liked them because the sales woman I worked with was very nice and I found a gown that I loved at a good price. Then, when my gown arrived and I went to try it on, it was the wrong gown! They told me that the manufacturer "restyled" the gown using the same style number, but that sounds a bit fishy to me. They offered to sell me the sample for 1/2 off (it was too small), or order me a different gown for 20% off, or give me a refund. I took the refund, and had no wedding gown 100 days before my wedding. The owner did not offer me any apologies and certainly did not show any understanding of what it's like to be a bride with no gown! Now, it's 1 month before my wedding and my bridesmaids' dresses still have not arrived. I'm very nervous that they won't arrive in time for alterations, or that when they do arrive they'll be the wrong size, style, or color. While Chryssie's does have a good selection and good prices, enter at your own risk--you may end up without a gown! read more

I researched tons of online reviews to find a place to buy a wedding gown. Chryssie's was recommended to me by a friend. I wanted a gown without any beading or lace. I got a last minute appointment for a saturday at 2:30. In two hours, i must have tried on 15 or 20 gowns. I had my sister helping me into the gowns while the shop assistant pulled and returned gowns from the racks. It's not pretentious, the prices were decent. We went last night to purchase bridesmaids' dresses. These people went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us, when I called and asked to make an appointment, the store owner informed me they weren't open during the only day that worked for all my bridesmaids. The store owner offered to open the shop for us. We went in and tried on the dresses and placed our orders. I would recommend them to anyone. I'm so happy with mine and the girls' dresses. We'll be back for flower girl dresses closer to the wedding. read more

Bad Bad Bad!!! Please DO NOT GO THERE it has been the worst experience ever nice dresses but the employees are very UNRELIABLE I almost fainted yesterday after I picked up my wedding gown, I had ordered a veil and a hair piece, and for my surprise when I got home the guy (david) did not include the hair piece, and this is a dress that was ready to go to another country, they almost ripped me off. This after the company did not deliver my order on time. I was planning to bring the dress to another country in April, which I was told when I bought the dress would not be a problem. When I called in early April for the dress, the guy, David wanted me to pay a few hundred extra for meeting the delivery time they had promised. When I protested, he threatened to cancel my order. I do not know why he has not been fired, or works in another job where he has NO contact with customers (a woman I dealt with was very nice). I will never recommend this place to any body. by the way this is the store in Canton. A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! read more

The sales women are very nice. The owner cannot be trusted. My daughter bought a sample, which luckily was in good condition. She was told it would be cleaned and any loose beads and threads would be fixed. She called to pay off the balance and make an appt. to get an alteration estimate from the seamstress. My daughter puts the dress on and none of the repairs have been made. The seamstress was very nice but did not put much effort into showing the bustling options at first. She said she would take the dress in from the side because that would be easier and it needed to be hemmed. My daughter and I looked at each when she left the room and we were both hesitant about having the alterations done there. The estimate was $325. We asked for the owner. We asked if the dress had really been cleaned and he said, "of course it has been cleaned, don't you remember the dress had make up on it"? The dress did not have makeup on it, it was in surprisingly good condition. We asked about the repairs and brings back the receipt and said. "this says cleaned and AS IS". He also stated twice, once right before we left with the dress, that the dress should be taken in from the back to preserve the side lines of the dress, not what his seamstress said she was going to do! Again, we said we were told it would be touched up. Finally, he gives in and tells us to go for a cup of coffee and come back in a 1/2 hour . So the seamstress says to come out in the light so we can look at it. I am looking for loose beads, etc and see a 1/2 strip of blood on the top edge of the dress. I have to say, she was honest and admitted one of her cuticles was bleeding, wiped her finger with a tissue, and got the blood out somehow. She proceeds to touch the dress some more and gets two more spots of blood on it. I pointed this out to her and we left. When we came back some repairs were done and the blood again removed. We also do not believe the dress was ever cleaned. We could not get the wedding gown out of there fast enough. I am sure we will not have trouble finding an excellent seamstress to do the alterations for much less. read more

1/12/13 Made an appt with ease. Had a great time with Brynn. THe team was friendly. We were greeted right away, welcomed in by a lovely woman; the team gets along very well, helping each other, and the brides. THe seamstress, Juliette was there and engaged with the brides, until another bride arrived for her appointment. Brynn spent time beyond our appt with us. THere was no pressure, only support, great suggestions, and I feel that my daughter was treated the best here of any other shopping experience we have had to date. While she thinks she decided on the dress she wants, she asked about altering the neckline and Brynn responded with confidence, 'Juliette is amazing, she will be able to do that for you, but you should spend more than one time with her to explore what you want.'. We have had 2 other appts, one our of state and one in Norwood- neither were satisfactory. Chryssie's will be our bridal shop. Donna read more

Chryssie's Bridal was a pleasure to work with from my first visit until the day I picked up my dress. For a smaller shop, they had a beautiful selection of dresses and the staff was great to work with. I had already found a designer online that I was interested in and they carried a ton of her dresses so that is what led me to Chryssie's. Becky was my salesperson. She was extremely nice, very helpful and not pushy at all. I wasn't interested in the big store-champagne experience so this place was perfect for me. It was low-key and low pressure with a great selection. They weren't able to discount the price of my dress due to the designer's rules, but they did work with me on the price of the accessories and the delivery which was great. I used their seamstress, Juliet. She did a beautiful job and she was fun to work with. I would definitely recommend adding Chryssie's to your shopping list and using them for your alterations. read more
