    Udon noodle, chk.soup ...
    Simon B.

We ordered the Udon noddle and Ramen noodle soup, both with chicken ... the soup base was a combo spicy/vinergar and the Udon was a brown gravy/garlic ... both tasted excellent. Nice ambiance, comfy seating in the booths ... but loses 1 star for limited combinations allowed, no hot tea or alcohol for dinner service, and very limited selection of soft drinks. Come for the tasty food, but expect limitations.

Perhaps they are short staffed but entrees came 1 at a time and the portions are small (but maybe it's because I'm used to California- size)? The wonton soup was good.

No one but my index finger and I are here so far this morning.

I had a decent meal here. Kind service. The Dan Dan Mein was okay - all very fresh ingredients, a little skimpy on the ground pork, excellent textures. ...but ultimately quite boring. Vastly under seasoned. By the end of the meal the dish had just become a vessel for the chili oil and hoisin they brought me to liven it up. Clean, affordable, and good tea. I don't believe I'll revisit.

An unassuming little place in Victoria BC's Chinatown. But the food is amazing! Hand pulled noodles are chewy yet soft. I had Dan Dan mein that had perfectly spicy pork along with delicately steamed broccoli , bean sprouts and napa cabbage. Partner had lung pao chicken, also great! Decor is a little faded but the food is absolutely worth it. And the same lady was working late into the night when we walked by later!

3.5/5, +.5 for service Not sure about the stubborn chef as I never saw the chef himself while inside, but this place was definitely a pleasant surprise that certainly deserves the 4-star rating it has right now. I arrived at around 2pm and the place was about half full. There was only 1 waitress, but she managed to coordinate the restaurant quite well. We ordered the miso ramen and the coconut chicken noodle, after reading rave reviews about it. The miso ramen arrived first, and I definitely agree that it had one of the best presentations I've seen, and the miso broth was also very well done. The noodles were slightly soggy, which led to some absorption of the broth, but it ended up not being a huge deal. The coconut chicken noodle actually used the same noodle as the ramen, and the broth definitely had the distinct coconut taste. I somewhat wish the bowl was less of a giant plate, because the size was quite large, yet the ingredients weren't so. Washrooms are in the second floor, and are quite family-oriented with the private booths. However I had to press the flush handle quite hard in order for the toilet to flush. Service was excellent the entire time I was there. For Victoria standards, this place is definitely a must-try for those visiting the city.

Ordered side of kimchi, chow mein, wonton soup, and dim sum. Kimchi was absolutely delish, so flavorful, crispy, and fresh tasting. The chow mein had this authentic taste, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Soup was average but delicious broth (if you like bacon flavor), dim sum was 3/5 because it was really small sizes still tasted really good. I would definitely come back here again, actually can't wait too I already know what dish I'm going to order. (Only reason for 4 stars is bc of the wonton soup and dim sum, or else this would've been 5/5).

The noodles presented was not the same as the pictures on menu at all. I ordered chicken cutlet noodle, and it looks like teriyaki chicken, and bak choy is replaced by broccoli?! I would not have ordered this item if I know these were the real ingredients. The other dry noodle we ordered was also super salty. There is also a large rock like substance found which I'm guessing and hopefully is, a salt chunk. The restaurant was pretty crowded at lunch time on weekend. Two stars for the poor server boy who was very polite and is clearly overworked. He was welcoming guests, taking orders, dispensing food items, getting payments and cleaning up tables all by himself.

Once you enter the restaurant, you will catch the calm ambient with jazz music. Miso Ramen is a must try unless you don't like miso (duh!) LOL. The service is really nice, friendly, and fast. The portion of the bowl is large. Definitely recommended.

We were craving something hot and with noodles ran into this place and the food was good, service was good! Not really a fan with curry but it was good! I had the chicken/beef noodles that was yummy! Friends got fried rice and gyoza! Waitress was friendly and helpful! Bathroom is located upstairs and small. Otherwise I'll probably come again

    Bug in the soup

We got dumpling soup. The food was ok. However, the reason why I'm leaving a 1 star review is because there was a bug in my soup. I only found it when I was almost done. I told the server, and she doubted me and took my bowl away. I didn't expect not to pay for the soup, but I was expecting an apology... nothing! At least the bug was free. The bug is on the spoon.

"Stubborn chef" I love this sign as much as I love the noodles!!

Not much to look at outside but a humorous sign stating "3rd generation noodle maker", "no MSG", and "stubborn chef" caught our eye. The food was Amazing! We had the pot stickers, the coconut chicken curry soup and the Dan Dan mein. (spicy sausage in noodles an sprouts. We ate until we felt sick, it was that good! The menu stated you could buy the noodles and we have every intention of doing so on our next trip! These are by and far the best noodles we have ever tasted. One note! It doesn't accept US dollars or credit. Be sure to grab some loonies and toonies before you go!

I came here for lunch. The restaurant was full and I understand why. Though the service was slowish, it was well worth it. I had the spicy curry chicken soup. It was amazing. They got the spice just right. Coming from a small town in Washington there isn't a lot of good food and this was a great find while wondering around China town.

Loved the kung pao and chow mein! It was very flavorful and tasted fresh. I really liked their chili oil too.
