Never gets any better than this. This location became one of my favorite diners to come to, even on a solo date. Service is fast and the waiters are the best. The chefs show LOVE when they cook. i always get this breakfast sandwich with ham, cheese and eggs on sourdough. THE BEST. and my mouth is watering thinking about the hashbrowns. I would come every friday morning while pregnant. I can't wait to take my son here when he's able to eat so he can finally enjoy what mom craved every week

5+ stars for the service and the food, but taking away three stars for the prices. I come in, and I sit down. I like the atmosphere of the place. It has the vibe of an old 1950s diner. Lots of decorations on the wall. My server was Alex, and he was very friendly and helpful. He kept coming back to make sure that everything was OK. I decided to have the shocks special. Basically, an 8 ounce chuck Salisbury steak, with brown gravy, onions, and mushrooms. It was huge, and it was delicious. The gravy was rich, the mushrooms were very good, and the onions were perfect perfectly tender. Just a great meal. It came with three perfectly over easy, eggs, a nice side order of fresh fruit, and although the toast was a tiny bit overdone, not too much so. The coffee was good and they kept my cup full. So I go up to pay, and when I got my check, I noticed that there was a four dollar upcharge for the fruit. That's pretty ridiculous, and the upcharge is mentioned at the top of the menu, but it also said right on the menu that my meal came with fruit. So there should've been no upcharge. Nope! You have to pay the upcharge. In addition to that, they also charged me extra for using Apple Pay, and I didn't see that listed anywhere. The meal was good, but meal, coffee, tax and tip, and I was out the door $35. I don't care how good the food is, for a diner breakfast, that's ridiculous. Thanks anyway, bye-bye.

Good food and a very extensive menu for all tastes. They have wonderful servers and are friendly and courteous every time I come in.

I absolutely love the service and food here! Chile Verde Plate is my favorite!! Food is reasonably priced and you get more than enough on your plate. The owner even comes out to greet customers. You know this is the local spot when servers are calling customers by name when they walk in.

So I actually really love this place! As u can see I wrote a review on it before! I bring my family here when they come from out of town. Also my close friend and I use to come here all the time to catch up! I have multiple pictures in front of this restaurant that I take with family cuz we are always happy with the service and food. But today was different. I ordered fried chicken and fries for my fiancé which came out to $19.48 by the time I brought it home it was still hot and fresh but the chicken pieces were small. The chicken was sweet and I didn't feel like I got my $20 worth so I decided to return it. I called and she asked me that I want anything else and I just decided no I'm gonna go somewhere else cause we really wanted fried chicken when I came in, she took the bag for me and I guess she checked to see if I ate the food which was fine because I wanted a full refund so she gave me my money back and I told her this is the first time I've ever had to do a return here because I come here all the time but I'll still be returning Customer and her response was. I've worked here for 12 years and I've never seen you put the money in my hand and walked away. Didn't say thank you have a good day or anything. I felt like she was kind of standoffish with me because I wanted a refund, but I'm all about quality and quantity and the quality was good. The quantity was not so I felt some type of way leaving here like she had an attitude with me because I wanted my money back. It doesn't matter if you worked here for 12 years and you never see me I literally told you I'm returning Customer and even though I was not pleased I will still be returning because you guys are awesome but the way she treated me with her working here for 12 years. I'm not too sure Now! If you look at my pictures, that chicken plate looks OK but once you get to digging in you get about 10 fries and if you look at the picture, it's a 1 ounce cup of hot sauce that's supposed to be a wing in a drumstick next to that 1 ounce cup of hot sauce that's the smallest wing and drumstick I've ever seen!! so you want me to pay $20 for two tiny pieces of chicken, a small thigh and a breast and ten fries no way I'm not doing it!!!

Chubbys server would not let me be seated while waiting for my children to arrive I have two knees replaced and need to either sit or keep moving server had bad attitude on Father's Day rude but Went to huckleberry's and had awesome visit and meal with kids And further more no oddball rule about no searing unless full party has arrived,my kids got there first and were waiting in a very nice roomy booth thanks ! Huckleberry's you saved family father's breakfast!! Not mention Food is delicious:)

Decided to try the Blackstone Chubby's for breakfast today. Right by Hobby Lobby. I had a bit of a wait, as all tables were full when I arrived around 1130. As soon as a booth opened, I was seated and my drink order was taken. When my server brought my tea, she took my breakfast order. I'm opting for the Senior Breakfast today...two eggs, two sausage links, potatoes and toast. Reasonable prices at Chubby's. My breakfast didn't take long to come out. Everything was cooked perfectly. No brown on my eggs, flavorful potatoes, good sausage links and lightly browned toast. The restaurant stayed busy while I was there. My server was attentive. It was very warm inside, so I didn't stay long.

A classic staple. This is a legendary burger place let alone Diner, a classic throwback to the good old malt shop diners. Fun vintage atmosphere. The best part of the burgers for me is the homemade ROLL. Yes I said roll because that's ultimately what it is. They make these incredible chewy rolls that they slice to make the buns. Ordered mine to go. Packaged very well and maintained the great freshness until I got home and devoured in minutes. My only resentment is I wish they were open later so I could enjoy this more often.

Just an awful experience. Overpriced charges and a terrible attitude from the server. I had to get the manager involved to fix the issue. The fix wasn't much better than the original problem. No tip and I won't be returning. read more

Good quality family diner. There's a reason there's always a line at Chubbys - the food is consistently good the service is fast, competent, and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Have only had breakfast so far - they have the best biscuits and gravy I've found in Fresno so far and the significant other says their pancakes are perfect - and she has high standards for pancakes. The coffee is good and the atmosphere is lively and friendly. I plan to try them soon for lunch. read more

I picked up my meal to go. Well prepared with everything I asked for. There was a line forming to pay and for pick up orders only one register. I didn't mind. Staff is courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Only downside is that they are only open to 3pm, I believe. Other than that it was great. read more

If you love old school this is your place. Staff is great and so is the food. We have had lunch and breakfast here several times. The inside is a bit small, but they also have outside seating which I love. Go by and try their breakfast the pancakes are delicious. There is usually a wait , but always worth the wait if you have time. Will post a meal next time we go read more

Authentic old fashioned diner! I went for breakfast on a Saturday at 7am and it was already full! After I got my food I knew why. The Spanish omelette was so full of flavor with fresh avocado on top, came with potatoes and toast/tortilla. The server was so friendly and topped up everyone's coffee every few minutes. A great place to start your day with a relaxed atmosphere and oldies playing in the background. read more

THANK YOU CHUBBY'S! Was just looking for a good breakfast place but hit the jackpot on couple levels. Having lived in CO, this was 'spot on' the real deal for CO Mexican food deliciousness! Perfect sunny side up eggs, very crispy hash browns, I chose corn tortillas that were fresh/soft because I got Chili Verde with eggs. Their Chili Verde was perfect spice heat and flavor and homemade refried beans! My husband got Huevos Rancheros and it was also delicious. Our server was impeccable, I wish I knew her name but I'm sorry I don't! Don't even question going. If only I could eat here every day. Our son and my dad are/were trained chefs and we have always been foodies. I'm so tired of paying ALOT for bad food and I paid less here with the best food! Big hugs and thanks Chubby's! read more

Great place.its not fancy.i like the peope that works there..it was me and my wife first time there today..5-28-20..Thursday..we went there for lunch..we liked our waitress..she was nice and kept everyone happy. Made sure there and our food was out at a manner time.. my wife had a hamburger..I had chicken breast sandwich..its small place.. love knowing it's down the street from our house..we be back defantly. After driving to 3 Denny's and leaving (cause who waits to eat Denny's) we ended up at Chubby's and boy their food and friendly service is well worth the 15-20+ minutes wait Its a small place with limited seating but def worth. I got the egg florentine special and substituted the ham for chorizo. It was delicious and filling. Portion was huge so me not being greedy took the rest of my meal to go. Cute little spot with big size meals. Definitely worth a chance read more

At first I loved it..until I tried calling this morning just to ask if by any chance they happened to have found something I had left behind. As soon as this girl answered "hold on I'm putting you on hold" it's okay I understand they get busy..but I stayed in hold for a good 8 mins before being hung up on. And I tried to call right back just for it to go straight to voicemail. I get to the dinner to have this girl straight up tell me "its busy hold on" ok... (I've literally seen it busier but OK) honestly she just needs to work on her customer service. Come to find out they did find my missing item..yay but damn lady this early and that rude already. If you dont like your job,nobody is forcing you to be in that position..give it to someone who'd appreciate having a job period. That's it that's all. read more

The atmosphere is certainly a draw for chubby's ( a great revival of the classic american diner atmosphere), the service was friendly and genuine, while the food although not amazing, is well above average and typical for an american diner- (wide range of offering and somewhat tasty breakfast and lunch menu, but certainly non-gourmet tasting). I do like how the price remains to be affordable for the portion given, although I have to confess, the price isn't exactly the cheapest either ($7 and up per person). My favorite experience is definitely the interior and atmosphere, it felt like a blast to the past. Where the music from the 1930's were playing, while the diner was decorated in the 1930's to 1940's fashion, which felt very nostalgic and classical with its stainless steel tops, and a long counter top where single dinners are able to sit and eat. I also did enjoy the table amenities- such as the straw canister, it really felt very retro. Its not a very big restaurant, and probably would sit 20-30 people comfortably in their booths. They do have round booths that would fit 5-8 people. Their pancake $6.99, was served in a large quantity, however the quality was just passable, nothing special in taste or texture. It was kind of chewy, tough and flavorless, I did however enjoy the whipped butter, it really made the pancake taste so much better and moist. The syrup used here, is not maple syrup and was not kept warm. In a nutshell, the pancake was good but not great, and its safe to say the pancakes were a great diner quality, great to compete and compare with places like denny's but not comparable to gourmet pancakes. I did enjoy the service, however it was slightly on the slow side. I do hope they could improve on the speed of service, because honestly the service was friendly and genuine, which brought the diner experience a step further. But if I had to wait 10 minutes to be greeted, that is a sign it needs work. Overall nice diner to dine in for a quick breakfast and lunch, especially if you are servicing your car on blackstone. Because it's literally a 1/4 mile walk from any car service office. read more

My mom and I love to eat here for lunch and breakfast. Everything is so good. They have so many omelets to choose from in the morning, and a lot of healthy options. The waitresses are so nice, they even see us in the parking lot and already have our drinks ready for us. That's what I love about small places like this, they make you feel at home. read more

This is a very good place to eat but for some reason yesterday December the 1st I ate there and a few hours later had it coming out both ends don't know what happened that place is excellent but it got me yesterday. Was a very disappointing morning, the waitress mb manager( not sure was very rude in sitting down at the booth, We walk in 3 min before the BK was over,I asked if it was over she rudely replied yess,,,,I just decided to just get coffee and left,,, This is sad during the 2020 pandemic they had outside tents and in trying to support them small business, we did go there outside weather the cold, the heat,on Blackstone we never complained to support them,,,I will never go there again,,,There are nicer employee at other places,,, read more

I wasn't in the good mood because of what happened to my car earlier when I walked into this place and by looking at their low count reviews I was already expecting an average or even below average food but boy did I get surprised! I was greeted by a very nice waitress as soon as I walked in. They had many different types of food from hamburgers to tacos and ... but I have already made my mind as soon as I saw her with a huge plate going into a different table. I didn't know what it was but I wanted it! She was nice enough to tell me everything that was in that plate and I added avocado for a small fee. We also ordered the Phillies sandwich which also was something to die for! 5 minutes into eating I have had totally forgotten about the damaged car and was thinking when I can come back for more! The Resturant has limited seats so you better go early or call ahead of time to see how busy they are because many people on their reviews said that they had to wait but when we were there it wasn't that busy. Great experience overall! read more

The patty melt - my god. Chubby's version became #1 in Fresno in my ongoing quest for the world's best patty melt.. (my most favorite thing on Earth) every detail was perfection. I literally could have cried. All conversation ceased. Fries grew cold. Drinks were forgotten. The service was great but even if it hadn't been I'd come back for that beauty of a sandwich. read more

Definitely a bit of a greasy spoon, but everything here was delicious. Got the Philly Cheese Steak, the Macho Nachos, and the Pastrami. Everything was excellent, piping hot, with hearty portions. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Definitely recommended. read more

This is my breakfast go to and it is amazing! The food is made from scratch and doesn't disappoint. I order the chicken fried steak every time because it is so good I literally can't bring myself to order anything else but I have tried about a dozen other menu items through friends and it is all amazing. Visiting from San Diego and decided to try this place out. We had the best service we've ever had here! The food was delicious and got to us fast. My coffee never made it half way before the super sweet waitress came over to refill it! The serving sizes are big so come hungry ! Best patty melt in town. The patty always has the perfect amount of seasoning, food is always fresh, and delicious. I always order it with a side of the chili cheese fries which can be a little salty, but overall amazing. The service is always good too! read more

We have been going here for years. Always for Sunday breakfast. Food is always good. Today I ordered a tuna patty melt and instead of fries ordered fruit which you can go all the time on the breakfast menu. Substitute hash browns for fruit. The bill came and I got charged for the fruit. I didn't have fries. Very disappointed. The fruit was not worth the charge had I known it was extra. It's not the actual money but the principle of the thing. We should have been told. I would have just had the fries. read more

Really impressed!!! Big improvement from the last time I was in here over a year ago. Was in about 10AM...Very busy. The staff seems to know the regulars and addresses them by their fist names. It's like family in here. The staff was extremely friendly with many smiles to go around. I ordered the Western BBQ Burger..medium. it was presented medium on an onion bun w/2 onion rings, sautéed Jalapeño peppers slices, pickles, sautéed onions, tomatoes, lettuce and BBQ sauce...it was good ($7.99) and served with steak fries. No double burgers were seen on the menu. read more

It makes sense that chopping a burger up with their special sauce, cheese, jalapeños and onions would be great. The street fries were tasty but super rich so I could only have a couple of bites. Why spend so much nowadays on fast food when for a fraction more, you can get better quality? Check this place out.

Regarding this comment below me: I was actually a customer dining in at the time you and your wife were at Chubbys on Mother's Day, you both were extremely rude to the young lady waiting on you. She was doing her job when she said your entire party had to be there to get seated. She brought u a chair when u said u were "disabled" and had to sit. You guys walked out as she was getting your drinks and you left your phone which she saved for you and when your wife went back to get it she said a bunch of nasty things to her, we were all appalled by your behavior to say the least, please do this restaurant a favor and never step foot in there again. FYI I also saw your nasty review about huckleberries on your page. People like u need to stay home instead of treating hard working people poorly smh read more
