Food is 3-4 stars, the bread and honey butter was amazing. Mashed potatoes were great. Felt like I was in a vegas buffet with the atmosphere and setting. Waitress was cool and nice. However, this is St. George. As a minority, I have never seen so many people staring at me, giving me looks. As soon as I entered, the hostess gave me ATTITUDE. I'm very chill, so I let it slide. But as we ate and walked around, I caught several people staring, looking at us like "what race/ethnicity are they". This is a very American buffet in a very one dimensional, white dominated town. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant in my entire life. Waitress was also a minority, so it was a little better. But nonetheless, a horrible experience. I've been here a few times over the last 2 years I've been a resident. The last time was over a year ago on a Saturday afternoon - the swarm of flies perching on the Jellos and sweet salads just grossed me out! I've NEVER seen that at their competition Golden Corral on the next block, which I have been enjoying at least once a month. Breakfast on Saturdays and the senior early bird dinner on a week day. My only negative about Chuck-A-Rama's buffet is their dessert set up. You almost can't walk past them to get to the dining rooms. Then again when you're getting all of your food. If you want to make up your own coffee or get your own drinks, There Are The Desserts! Salad Bar's: Both of their salad bars have a great varieties. Plenty of toppings with extras and a nice choice of greens. The other I call the dessert salad bar! So many different salads. Just enough sugar for the sweet tooth. That's Not including the section of perfectly proportioned goodies. Cleanliness & hygiene: I absolutely love that they stock the clear plastic food serving gloves at the plate & silverware station. Extremely convenient & caring. Thank you so much. The women's restroom is need of a major overhaul. I'm not sure what is going on up with the ceiling! Pros & cons to this small buffet area: I have no complaint about getting my exercise ... but they don't have the giant long runway for unattended children to race up & down with or without food dodging paying patrons trying just to get in a meal. We have been coming here since the 90's. It used to be delicious and reasonable. Fresh meats, creative offerings every day. Now, today, we walked in to filthy floors, the rugs stained and threadbare...the food. Powdered potatos, used to have delicious scones, no more...we got to our table, had to brush crumbs off of everything. Flys were swarming. We had 3 assigned just to our table. Waitress seemed overwhelmed with a total of 3 people on our side..no time to pick up the dirty dishes...silverware sticky...just awful. It felt dystopia. No care, nobody spoke English, just not my kinda place and at $34. For 2 it was no longer a good deal. Hurry up and close if you're not willing to do the basics. Just forget it. read more

My family and I were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to try this place based on reviews. We were all extremely disappointed in the small selection and the food was so terrible. Almost everything that was cooked was extremely overcooked, dry and chewy...we really had a hard time finding even one thing that tasted good. Both types of chicken were dried out, the ribs chewy and dry, the vegetables they offered all overcooked and mushy. My kids did say the pizza was good and the ice cream bar. Once we tried everything, we definitely didn't finish our plates and mainly stuck to the salad bar only. Maybe it was the time of day we went? It was about 2pm... maybe at dinner they throw everything out and start fresh? But I can't see anyone in their right mind giving this place more than 1 star... it was that bad! read more

Quite the impressive buffet. Was everything super good.. well it was $14.65. That being said some things were excellent like the rolls and the salad bar. Quite the variety! The desserts were quite good and the server was very attentive. I almost ate at Golden Corral however the ratings for this were better. I'm a sucker for buffet. Especially when one has a solid 4 stars. Came in town for the weekend to visit the beautiful southern Utah. Worked up an appetite and was looking forward to Sunday night dinner here. Overall, I regret and should've just gone to Golden Corral as it would've been cheaper. I know they may have rotation of food, so this was Sunday night. Had the basic ham, turkey and roast beef at the carving station. They were just ok. The part I'm more disappointed was fried chicken. During the hour I was there, it was not replenish so the chicken were not hot. And the breading, or lack of breading was a bit odd. Usually it's the opposite as it would be too much. But personally, I enjoy the crunch and flavor from the breading. Tried twice and both were dried out with little flavor. Then there's the fish, tilapia I think. They were over cooked and plain. Tasted like leftovers and they just heated back up. Also had beef stew. Again, not much flavor. Not sure if they just don't like to spice things up? Salad were typical. Only good thing is the choices of different drinks. And the deserts also were good. Unfortunately, for the money, I really wasn't there for drinks or sweets. read more

Seniors lunch price about $12.50 ish and that includes a wide variety of drinks. There were a lot of options. Meat options were limited at the time we went but still there were plenty of other options. We went on Tuesday which is Asian food day. Considering any other place charges you $12 for a hamburger and you still have to buy a drink, it's a fantastic deal. read more

We are from California and miss buffets. This place was excellent in quality and service. All workers wearing masks but sdly Utah hs foolishly stopped masks being required so too many people walking around without them . Creepy but we wore ours getting food. If they had this place in SoCal we would be huge...lol. The food is just too good. Way better than Golden Corral (a block away). Great selection. Wish they had Breakfast, that would be amazing. If you are visiting from afar, just know that the food here is not good and the selection is arguably mediocre. This was our first visit and Boy was I impressed. We had fabulous service from the moment we were greeted entering until we walked out. Ample parking. Clean restrooms, clean dining rooms, bars were well stocked with a great variety with plenty of fresh, warm food. Tonight was Italian night. Every night has special theme and menu. Drinks were included in their very reasonable prices. And let's talk about that dessert bar! YUM! Service was friendly and super attentive. Do not be fooled by the off-putting name, this place is the bomb. Went here twice for lunch (Oct 2014) after 1. Not wanting to eat at Chick-fil-a 2. Reading the surprisingly positive Yelp reviews. This place is right off of the freeway and has an older looking sign. Again, do not let that deter you. Lunch for 1 adult is $9.99 plus tax and is worth every penny. This place has a TON of salads - green salads, pasta salads, vegetable / sauce salads. I loaded up on broccoli salad and a giant green salad and was super impressed by their dressing selection. Living in Vegas I've been to expensive (such as Wynn, Cosmo, Caesar's) and low budget buffets, and honestly, apart from Caesar's, I would honesty prefer to eat here. I hate chicken fried steak but the stuff here looked so good that I had to try a piece. Topped with roasted bell peppers and white gravy, hands down the most delicious thing I ate all month. This place has tons of desserts, but they're actually good. Vegas desserts may look good but are either tasteless or blah. All their various cakes are moist & flavorful here. I suggest the fresh berry cake. They have drinks galore - club soda, apple beer, horchata and even an ICEE machine. Definitely cool! Honestly, I'd drive all the way to St. George just for lunch here. 500th Review!!! I used to be a big buffet fan when I was younger but have been less turned on by them as I've gotten older. But this spot was surprisingly good and I would drive back to St George for sure just to eat here! Pricing is reasonable at $9.99 lunch and $12.99 dinner and Sundays, and because the buffet area isn't overwhelmingly big, food doesn't sit too long before it's consumed and then replaced with freshly cooked goodness. I have to admit, the buffet looked a lot bigger when I first arrived but I soon realized that it was all an illusion due to the mirrors they strategically placed around it. Although small, basically anything you grab is probably going to be delicous, most notably the fried chicken they keep bringing out! It's hard to find good fried chicken, especially at a buffet so I was surprised that it was so fresh and delicious here. So good in fact, that I couldn't stop eating it and basically ate a bunch of fried chicken and sides until I was full and ready for dessert. The dessert was ok, but I'm not really a big dessert guy...They have 2 soft serve ice cream machines with different flavors which is basically all I got. There is also a salad bar and multiple drink machines, including an icee machine, that are all self service. I love drinks and got so excited I think I had like 3 drinks and an icee during my meal. The service is also pretty top notch because our plates were being cleared soon after we pushed them aside. If you have a larger group though, I'd recommend grabbing separate adjacent tables because the booth we had made it difficult for everyone to get in and out. read more

No Cold Food Here!!! Everything we have had at all our visits has been terrific. Our family really loves Chuck-A-Rama. It is a Must Go To whenever we are in St. George. As another Cali family said, with Covid closure of many buffets in CA it is so awesome to have a Great buffet to go to when away from home.
