I never like leaving a bad review... but this place food options are just terrible, and for a buffet... look out... not many options and poor quality. You have many other options, "right nearby" with better food, more food, and cheaper options. Just head south 1 click. The staff was also rough, the front gal was rude and not welcoming. She was super offended when I asked if they had coupons in any of the directories we subscribe to. Maybe I am just expecting too much when we paid $70 for 2 adults and 3 kids under 12. And I guess bacon bits, banana peppers and any meat options on the salad buffet are to much to ask when I pay $14 to eat with you. I am really disappointed. We will not be back! read more

We were sitting around (arguing) trying to come to a concensus on a restaurant that could accommodate 20+ people on a Saturday night. Options are few to begin with and finding a place that meets all dietary/insane preferences is darn near impossible. We settled on Chuck-A-Rama because if you can't find something there you're just being unreasonable. Salad bar is better than the other gold-colored horse buffet in town and the food quality is good. We love Chuck Arama. Employees are always friendly, pleasant, and willing to go the extra mile. My favorite is the salad, no matter where I go, I always find myself comparing it to yours, the BEST ALWAYS. We had in incident where we came in about 4 minutes before closing time, we were very hungry and needed a nice dinner after a long working day. We asked if we could come in, knowing that the answer will probably no, (we've had that happened in other places). We were surprised when they said yes come in. They've treated us so cordial and never once made us fell like they were in a hurry to clean up and get us out of there. For ever grateful. Dinner here tonight. Wasn't expecting much from the reviews but it's an ok place to take the family on a weekend in St. George. Not a lot of variety for a buffet but whatever they had were mostly good. This coming from a lady from Las Vegas. Lots of choices at the salad bar, ham, turkey breast and roast beef at the carving station to name a few. Good dessert selection too. Loved the German chocolate cake and surprisingly the rice pudding. Our server, Kathy was friendly and attentive. As a frequent visitor of Vegas Buffets, when i do hit a buffet outside of NV i have low expectations ( unless it's a Sunday brunch at a fancy hotel ) The gf and I have hit Chuck-A- Rama a couple times over the last few years. The most recent visit was this past Saturday night. As usual, the star of the show is the Yeast Rolls - large, yeasty, dense, nice and warm - slather on the butter and enjoy !! They also make sticky buns with the yeast roll dough - also quite tasty though a little too sugar-y. The salad bar is abundant and the lettuce and veggies are of above average quality. The hot dishes are not abundant but hearty - carved turkey, ham and roast beef, a decent turkey stew, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, spaghetti, lasagne, etc. the usual suspects for sides - stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese ( sadly, somewhat average ) a few veggies. The desserts involve a variety of cakes, cookies and soft serve ice cream. Dinner costs $12. Beverage included. I consider the quality to be higher than Golden Corral. Totally agree with other reviews that this place has better quality and selection of a buffet than the buffet we had at Mirage last night, about 1/2 of the listed price, also don't need to walk through a smoky casino to get to It's Easter Sunday so the line for the buffet was even longer, but you're right- so much better than our Mirage buffet last night that's overly priced The lunch price is $10.99, which is very reasonable, Sunday is dinner price all day, $13.99 is still reasonable. I kind of like how they charge the kids differently each year, instead of the mirage buffet charge full price after 12. We paid for three adult buffet last night, even with the Tix4Tonight discount to $19.99(plus $2 fee) still felt like a rip-off. We're able to finish most of our food here because you can taste how fresh and flavorful they are! So many fresh veggies and dressings to choose from . Our favorite entree was the crispy bake chicken, so yummy! The desserts were good too- apple crisp was great with the soft serve, Oreo cake and brownies were pretty moist as well. Waited in line a while but wasn't too bad with friendly people around to talk too, and very friendly staff also. My husband was already talking about it's on our way out of town in 4 days!!. We affectionately refer to this fine establishment as "Up-Chuck-A-Rama" cos' you eat so much there's a good chance you'll practice your driving on the porcelain bus. Every 4th of July me & my fam damily would visit my grandparents is St. George, Utah. It was always a tradition to eat to our hearts content at Up Chuck's. My grandfather would insist on going to Up Chuck's at around 3:30 p.m., that way you paid the lunch price ($7) but, that would allow you to enjoy the dinner menu in which they starting serving @ 4 p.m. I don't think I'd label myself a buffet fan (but I do have my moments of bad judgement in Vegas) but I don't mind Up Chuck's for the memories I have attached to my visits with family and our gluttonous adventures. So one star for awesome name, one star for quantity for the price and one final star for all the wonderful memories. read more

This is a great spot to stop at when you're on your way to Cedar City, Brian Head, Zion, etc. I have taken several of my friends here and they are always impressed. The sign out front makes me think of a Sizzler type of establishment, but in actuality it is a very good buffet. There is a lovely salad bar, they usually have a carving station, dessert bar, ice cream bar, pastas, bakery, comfort foods. I am completely convinced that if you eat a large salad first, the fried chicken doesn't count. Grin. Remember, you can just taste a little of everything, you don't have to have a full serving and be uncomfortable later. The service is very attentive. I like the large windows so I can keep an eye on the doggie while we dine. We ate on Sunday afternoon coming back from Brian Head and it was $12.99 per person. read more

I have never been to Utah but have to be here because my mom was airlifted to the ICU here (The hospital is great with lovely people). However, i felt the cold shoulder at this buffet. I was there 2/20/18. I noticed the table next to us was well taken care of with their plates, drink refills, and we're constantly asked if they were ok. The big slap in the face was when the same waitress wiped the table right next to ours even though it was already clean, she looked over at our table with dishes piled high, and turned away (funny thing was she was Hispanic). I complained to the manager who offered us free food for next time but I just told him this shouldn't happen again. Their food is good, clean setting, but our whole experience was spoiled by the service. I saw reviews from Golden Corral down the street, from other people who noted the same treatment to them there as well who were also minorities. I googled that in December 2017 someone was discriminated against at a St George Dennys. I know not all the people in this area are not like this. I am sure many people in this area are loving and caring to all peoples. I pray NO ONE has to be treated this way. read more

My husband was leery of buffets in this day and age, but the set-up here was pretty good. They require hand sanitizing as you enter the buffet area as well as food service gloves when you get your food. The food was pretty tasty and tasted hot and fresh (we ate at 6pm on a Sunday). Went to Chuck-a-Rama today with our family. AFTER paying, and being seated, we realized the restaurant was miserably HOT! (Wasn't so bad at the lobby/cashier area, and it was about 106-degrees outside). We spent $150 for the family to eat in the heat of hell! The food wasn't bad. The service was ok. After we sat down, my sister tried talking to some employees about the heat. She was told the AC was out, sorry. She asked if we could have some sort of discount and the girls laughed at her. I approached some employees who were standing around talking and asked if there was something they could do about the heat. No, sorry. AC is out. As they looked at me as some sort of idiot. Ended up eating at Chuck-A-Rama while driving up the 15. I am almost embarrassed to say, but this place is AWESOME. First off, the name is gimmicky. But the food is great! Someone commented on service being an issue, but that wasn't the problem for me and my family of Asian heritage. The salad bar was well stocked and the warm foods were good. It's a not a huge buffet, but everything they had was really, really good. Maybe not the roast beef, which a bit dry. The breads were tasty with the weird fry sauce. Love that they had icee AND orange bang (which no one was having, wth). Dessert stations looked great, but I was too full. :( read more

This time my parents had friends in town who love Chuck a Rama, so there I was--at Chuck a Rama. Very clean, friendly staff, and no wait (early birds. We ate at 4:30). The salad bar looked and tasted fresh. The hot bar had a nice selection including the largest beef roast that I have ever seen. I recommend the dinner rolls with the cinnamon honey butter. The hunger set in and the heat hit like a wall. When I arrived, my first stop was the slushie machine. The food was decent...considering. The ice cream station...obviously my favorite part, was well-equipped with toppings of all sorts. Including caramel. Oh yummy goodness.
