Super disappointed with the way the manager handled the situation with my food. I ordered my food at 8pm (mind you I'm pregnant and hungry) and it was 8:30pm and the beeper still did not go through. I went to the front counter to ask about my food and the person at the front went back and said my ticket hadn't gone through and they had to start making it now. Waiting half an hour, the payment went through but my ticket never printed?! I asked for the manager and she came out with a face of not caring what the situation was and pretty much got that it's what it is... didn't offer anything in exchange for the time I had already waited. On the whole, Chuck E. Cheese has come a long way. The updates to the game area and business as a whole brought it to a more modern place. Majority of the games work, and all games are only one point to play. The prices have gone up, unfortunately. We paid $41 for 120 points. That had my two kids playing for almost two hours. There is a lot of seating available. There is one entrance/exit which is manned by a staff member for security of the children. They have a hand stamp process to attempt to ensure kids leave with the right parent. On the whole, this is a great place to kill a few hours time and have fun with your kids. read more

First off, Chuck E. Cheese pizza doesn't get the recognition it deserves. This is good, thin crust pizza. I'm a fan of the cheese to crust ratio (high on cheese), fresh ingredients, and crisp pepperoni. I also had the meat lovers and the supreme and both were coated with ingredients. 5/5 The staff at this location were a little more upbeat and friendly than most other CEC locations. The birthday crew were dancing with Chuck when he came out to celebrate. 4/5 Lastly, the game selection and variety have vastly improved over the years. I had a 2yo, 9yo, and a 13yo who all found things to entertain them. So come in and have a party here! Take some Tylenol and some earplugs and make some memories. And if youre lucky enough to visit on a day when Britnee and/or AJ are working, I'm pretty sure they'll make your visit worthwhile. Today was the first time in many many years since my family & I have been to a C.E.C. We came here to celebrate my little grandson's birthday despite having read some of the negative reviews here on Yelp. Ignore them!!! This location is fantastic in every way!!! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the sweet, friendly staff member named Britnee, who had a huge smile & happy, welcoming attitude. Taking a quick look around we noticed that the whole place was very clean, well lit, not overly loud, and well organized. They have an extensive menu board with different food & game package options. I admit we were a little overwhemed with all of the choices, and Britnee was super patient in explaining the different meal & game plans! She is a huge asset to this company. Her cheerfulness made us feel, and especially my grandson, so happy to be there. We spent well over an hour playing games and enjoying our delicious meal of pizza, boneless wings, cheesy bread & fries. All of us agreed that the food was delicious enough to come back for again! There's a nice variety of video/arcade type games to keep young kids busy & interested, and the bathrooms are super clean. I wanted to make sure that management knew about how impressed we were with our wonderful experience, so I spoke with AJ, the manager on duty. She was also just kind & friendly as Britnee. Because my family & I had such a positive experience today at this Chuck E. Cheese, we will definitely be repeat customers, and are already looking forward to seeing Britnee and AJ again! Typical Chuck E. Cheese. The staff here is the reason I took off a star. They seem very bored with their jobs. A few were in good spirits and helpful but the majority seemed irritated to be at work. The person that was chuck was very disinterested in his performance as he just stood there with little to no interactions with the kids. Not the usual for here but just what happened on this visit. Very disappointed I'm the customer service at Chuck E Cheese one 7.18.17. My wife and I came in for a quick stop to let our kids play games and grab a slice of pizza. We we talked into ordering a promotional where as you can purchase a large pizza, 4 drinks and you get 45 tokens... If the pizza isn't ready on 30 minutes you get a free desert. Due to the time we wanted to spend we decided to give it a shot... In the process of checking out the cashier was having issues... She asked the manage for assistance and the manager proceeded to say the promotion that was offer to us and on the banner was not available as it had ended. When I asked the manager if they would honor the promotion as it had no expiration date in the banner, was clearly visible and was recommended by the cashier the manager said no. Overall I was very surprised the manager did not care at all to even remotely act as if it mattered. There should be some additional training for the management there if this is company policy. read more

I cannot believe Chuck E. Cheese isn't 5 stars!! Sure they have a shady looking salad bar. That food rotates out of there fast it's constantly replenishing. Nothing is going bad because of the turnover. The pizza is better then little ceasers and it's free soda refills. Oh, plus they have beer (never had to resort to one there but I like that they have your back). Wings are good. I have nothing bad to say. I've done so many birthday parties with Chuck Cheese and have never been been let done. I grew up in Chuck E Cheese's. Skee Ball Wizard. One thing I noticed was the tubes with the slide and kiddie area where gone. Probably dirty so they replaced the area with new different games. Even the men's room was clean. Chuck E. I'm reviewing this Chuck E. Cheese as a solid to any parents considering it for their small children. We live close enough to this location to be dragged by our girls (with us kicking and screaming) every once and a while. I'm veering from my traditional review style becuase the rat doesn't rank - instead, here are the things you need to know: 1) If you are looking to schedule a party (assuming on the weekend) - do so BEFORE noon. I have been to more than a dozen parties after 12:00 pm on either Saturday or Sunday, and it's ridiculous - in their quest for cash, this location has booked more than 10 parties at a time (the record I saw was 14 parties, and the one we attended had to SPLIT THE TABLE with another party, leaving us to sit with strangers). What this means to you and your little one - far less attention, shoulder to shoulder with strangers, and no room to play. 2). If you haven't been in a while, they have recently the games and layout - this sole reason is why I give them 2 stars and not one. The new layout caters to the under 6 set much better. 3) Avoid the ticket counter... seriously, just avoid it if you can. Stick some candy or prizes in your pocket, and trade your child that for their tickets. It'll shave off about 30 minutes (and as many wasted dollars). 4) Pizza - they have actually improved the quality of their pizza (slightly), and it's gone from rot gut to pretty edible (not great, mind you, it IS still Chuck E. Cheese, but edible). 5) Look for coupons online before you go - there are ALWAYS deals / specials to be had. 6) Don't forget to bring back a refillable cup if you have one, they allow this happily, and it will save you the cost of purchasing a new one. 7) If you are hosting a party - SKIP the party favor bags, they are expensive per child, and what you get in there is not nearly worth the cost. We have gotten several of these, and my kids throw them out unopened because the toys are cheap and pretty well unusable. EXTRA TIP - spend your money on the balloons instead - they're cute, last for days, and the kids I know fight over them - score :) read more

For reasons that I cannot explain, every year I allow my daughter to choose where she wants to have her birthday party. For some odd reason this year she chose Chuck E. Cheese in Gurnee. We've come here before to play games and what they call pizza. However, my daughter just turned 6 so there are not many games she can play here. She has her select few, then she's bored and ready to go....that's why I was shocked that she wanted to go there. Anywho, I'm giving Chuck's 3 stars because my hostess was quick and she served us and helped with the gifts and all that. My only gripe was that they didn't have proof of my deposit that I had paid on the 29th and I felt like they were rushing us to leave RIGHT after my daughter opened her gifts. Outside of that, it was SUPER busy for a 5:00 on a Sunday night....and there was a line of people trying to get in...I guess that's normal for Chuck's. When I was paying for the party they only had one register open and then people get up there and can't make up their mind about what package they want. Came here today for the first time since reopening. The two employees working were super friendly and kindly explained all the new safety precautions. Took our temps, had us sanitize and told us now the tickets go right on the card yayyyy! There was hand sanitizer all around and it looked like there was either a new way to do the salad bar or maybe no salad bar but def not open food for anyone to contaminate. Pizza was delicious as always. Chuck e was not walking around like he usually does which totally makes sense. Putting different people in the same costume right now does not sound like a good idea. You generally come here because you have a kid who wants to play video games and win tickets in a well lit environment. On the plus side, the food came out fast and it wasn't so bad. On the negative side, we were asked to find a table - which turned out to be a challenge as there were no spaces open. The place was very muggy and chaotic (we didn't expect peace but still). One of the highlights of the adventure: my son had his eye on a big lollipop but was clearly short of the amount of tickets needed. The gal behind the counter told me that I could pay the difference. So, I forked up another $1.10 and he left thinking he won enough to take it home. read more

The customer service is HORRIBLE!! This kid Adam told us when we walked in, "I wouldn't play any games because I can't fix them and they break all the time." The he told us "I'm not obligated to tell you about any specials that we have." When we asked for a manager he said "she's right over there, you go over there." Well that didn't go over so well with me. The manager finally came over to us and said that the machines are working good, and that of course they are supposed to tell us about any deals going on. Last weekend I visited the Gurnee, IL location for my little sisters birthday party and I left my jacket at my table. I tried calling throughout the weekdays and was disappointed because I could never reach anyone or receive a call back. I went today to check if they still have it and not only did they say NO ,, they weren't sure they have a lost and found. This location is not the best and most staff are bored with their jobs. Service was good - that's what the 2-stars are for. There seemed to be a shortage of workers cuz we saw 4 people working the entire place on a Friday night. The place smells old which is different from other chick e cheese locations I've been to. The prizes are not as exciting as Vernon Hills location and it's definitely a lot older (it seems from the smell and the collection of games). About 75% of the games work. The rest are broken or partially working. The crowd was not so great. I had a lady indirectly tell my kid off because apparently she was on line next to redeem her tickets. Me and my 3 years old ignored her...my 3 year old didn't even know what was going on so we grabbed the lollipop he got from 20 tickets (our transaction only took 20 seconds by the way) and left. I would say this place is a bit on the ghetto side with the crowds (I mean even stating this feels sort of like a joke because why would people bring their bad-side to such a kid-friendly and kid-centered environment). It's a good place to do birthday party's. My hostess was super nice I love her so much I really can't remember her name but we all loved her so much! She was so polite and cared to everyone in a really nice matter and she was great with the kids. The only thing that I did not like was one of the managers I cannot remember her name either but that Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm she had red shirt and white pants black hair. She was very rude to our hostess at one point of the party for wanting to help one of my kids at the ticket blaster, that manager just called her out very very rudely and everybody noticed that. I had two birthday boys my two sons six and three years of age my three-year-old did not want to go into the ticket blaster because he was afraid of the wind so my nephew did it for him with my oldest son. They went in at the same time because it was my six-year-old first time in the ticket blaster and he did not want to go in alone, so my sister told the manager that if they were going to be in at the same time they should get the whole minute in one go because it's 30 seconds for each birthday boy. She was very rude and giving dirty looks to me, my sister and the hostess and she said flat out "No"! Since we didn't want to cause a scene we just let it pass by but I will never host a birthday party there again.Overall it was very nice and we had a great time and the food was good. read more

What can I say... My boy loves this place! The food and drinks here can be a little steep, but they do have coupons online...which i always forget to print off. I have learned to feed lil man before going in and to keep a few tokens in my coin purse for quick drop ins. For the most part we go during the day on weekdays and the place is pretty empty. Weekends anytime are off limits. The employees are all young except for one rather talkative (but nice nonetheless) manager so the service is fair to good depending on when u go. I have noticed that they do a fairly good job of bringing in new games/rides and only encountered one game which was out of order. For what it was it wasn't horrible. read more

My wife put a can that had a least 30 dollars in coins and like 300 tickets down and accidentally forgot it. When we went back it was stolen. When we talked to the manager if by chance it was turned in, he gave us a can and almost matched what we had lost. Took our twins (age 2 1/2) today for a friend's son's birthday party. Our son and daughter had a lot of fun. There is plenty of stuff for little ones to do. I liked how they had two sections (for little ones and for bigger kids) but that you could clearly see the entire layout. Our hostess scheduled the party at 11 a.m. on a Sunday, and it didn't start getting busy until around 1 p.m., when we were leaving. Therefore, there weren't any lines. It's ok. Maybe I would give it more stars if their food was better. The buffet was bad! They have the salad under the same lamp as hot food. Sure it's on ice but the top is warm. ONLY ONE salad dressing. No options for those who dislike ranch. Just lettuce!? No topping options!? The pizza looks like it has been sitting there for hours. The dessert was chewy.
