    Pepperoni stuffed crust pizza

My sister and I braved a Friday night at Chuck E. Cheese around 6:00pm with 3 kiddos. The place was packed and staff did the best they could with the chaos. We waited at the door for about 10 minutes as the gal working the counter was helping a few other customers. We were patient and let her know we understood. She appeared to be the only one working that area. My sister purchased a monthly pass for her family as they live near the area. The pass seems like a steal of a deal, especially for a family with multiple children. It was bright, loud, and full of entertainment. You could honestly see all the varies ages having fun. Parents were being kids as well. Noise coming from the games and the sound of kids and adults laughing. Lots of game options. Our favorites were the ring toss, skee-ball, and the Photo Booth. We had a blast having many takes on the Photo Booth. The pizza was great. The pepperoni stuffed crust is SO good. It hit just like it did many years when I had it for the first time. I love how it comes out super hot and cheesy. Chuck E Cheese is a perfect option for the MN winters.

    Carousel for the little ones.

We were looking for something for our family to do on a Saturday night that wasn't just for the kids or just for the parents. On a long shot, we decided to try Chuck E. Cheese, as neither my wife or I had been there in decades, and we hoped perhaps it might have evolved beyond what we remembered. For better or for worse, it is exactly as we thought it would be: slightly worse than mediocre food and incredibly loud with kids running everywhere. On a brighter note, the employees -- while not appearing to be very happy -- were genuinely helpful. I doubt we'll ever go back here. It was very busy, so certainly some families find value at Chuck E. Cheese. It's just not our scene, I suppose. Oh, and if you have young kids (ours are 2 and 4), there are about a half a dozen games they can pay to play and a small toddler area. The other 30+ games -- most of which are games for earning tickets -- are for older kids. Our family of four spent $50 on a large pizza, basic drinks, two appetizers, and 400 credits (the games we played cost around 10 credits each).

They have a basic salad bar with fresh ingredients. The pizza isn't bad either. Plus all the games, it is fun for the whole family.

We just had a birthday party for our toddler here and they nailed it.

I'm disappointed it took so long for me to eat here. Truly a crime of depriving myself of one of…read morethe coolest restaurants with amazing staff, delicious food, and a thoughtful menu that is not overloaded with unnecessary items. I encourage readers to look past a few things.... - First the restaurant is attached to a grocery store. It wasn't a distraction or issue to us. You wouldn't be able to tell if you're eating inside or even on the patio. - Second the menu is not huge. You're not going to find countless pasta dishes, chicken parmigiana, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and so on. Personally I was more than happy with less options that are all done well. - Lastly the prices. Like anyone I looked up the menu beforehand and wondered why a deep dish pizza was in the $25 range. While some restaurants charge more to adjust for inflation, Pizzeria Pezzo stands behind their prices through their homemade food with simple, high quality ingredients. Now the things I encourage readers to look directly at... - The meatball appetizer. I ate them too quickly, resulting in a bad picture. Comes with focaccia and a salad large enough to split. Definitely order if you appreciate this type of thing. - Both the deep dish and coal fire pizza. We only tried deep dish, but our eyes wandered to nearby tables dining on the crispy thin. I can't imagine a world where it isn't great like the deep dish, but will confirm when I go back. - Cannolis! Get them. $9 for 3 huge cannolis. Splurge a little. You can always walk it off at Kowalski's afterwards. I really liked this restaurant. Good food, nice people. I hope you try it. Pro tip: They have a Groupon out there right now 7/6/23.

So, better off going in. Pizza was good but dough was pretty soft so next time I may ask for it to be cooked a bit longer. Meatball appetizer was good. Inside seemed like it had plenty of seating and was clean.
