Fish & Shrimp Combo with fries, fried okra, corn, and red potatoes
Meme Mariee N.

Let's just say the service was amazing friendly, knowledgeable staff, very inviting to the menu as this was our first time trying it and will now be my favorite seafood spot. I had no idea how amazing my food would be but it WAS!! Everything was fresh seasoned very well corn & potatoes cooked to perfection not over or under cooked. The shrimp was definitely jumbo & flavorful the fish was crunchy and tender at the same time the WAGON SAUCE!! Chef kiss!!! Thank you all for such an great lunch/dinner 20 out of 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND so if you are in town or on that side of town looking for crawfish with a top tier seafood menu please stop here :) nice clean environment for family and friends even a solo sit

Hottest crawfish I've had in a long time. A minute break wasn't enough. I had to wait till the next day to finish the last pound of my 3 pound order. I'll be back next season.

Their crawfish isn't bad at all. My family always orders from him but it can be a little too pricey. Overall great crawfish!

One-Star Review - Unprofessional Conduct That Completely Ruined Our Evening…read moreThis review reflects my personal experience during a visit to The Hunter Crab. After being seated, my wife and I waited an extended period before our main order was even taken. During this time, multiple tables that arrived and were seated after us were able to order and receive their food before we were given the opportunity to place our main order, which immediately set a negative tone. Our appetizer (crab cakes) and drinks arrived in reasonable time, but the issues escalated with the main courses. My wife ordered two clusters of snow crab legs at medium spiciness. When the dish arrived, an entire claw was missing. The plate was taken back and replaced with food that was not what was originally ordered. Instead of medium, it was significantly spicier and caused discomfort when eaten. We have ordered this same dish here before and are familiar with its normal spice level. I ordered the catfish basket with Cajun fries. The fish was extremely hot when served, so I waited before eating it. When I did, it was overcooked in my opinion, rubbery in texture, and the batter separated in large chunks. My wife attempted to speak with a manager but was told no manager was on the premises. A bartender stated the meals could be remade and the bill discounted. Before that could happen, another male employee was brought to our table, and this is where the experience became unacceptable. Rather than listening or attempting to resolve the situation, this employee immediately became combative, argumentative, and dismissive. He repeatedly told my wife she was wrong about the spice level and insisted the food was correct, even after she explained it burned her mouth. His tone was confrontational and unprofessional. When he addressed me, the same behavior continued. I calmly explained the problems with my meal, and he dismissed everything I said, repeatedly insisting the food was great and implying that our experience was incorrect. At no point did he attempt to de-escalate, apologize, or show concern for the customer experience. His focus appeared to be on arguing rather than resolving the issue. Throughout this interaction, I was clearly wearing a combat veteran hat. This restaurant does offer a military discount, and it has been provided to us during prior visits. However, during this visit it was never offered or mentioned at any point, which stood out given the circumstances. At no point did we ask for free food. I stated clearly that I did not want my meal remade and simply wanted to pay and leave. As the employee continued to argue, I stood up to proceed to the register so we could exit. Despite no threats, no physical contact, and no aggressive actions on my part, law enforcement was called, which escalated the situation unnecessarily. When I began recording for my own documentation, the officers' behavior and attempts to block the phone felt intimidating to me, adding further stress. What made this especially upsetting was that the combined behavior of the employee and the officers made it feel as though we would not be allowed to leave unless we paid the full bill, despite everything that had occurred. In that moment, it felt as though disputing the charges or seeking further resolution could lead to further detention or arrest, which was extremely uncomfortable. What should have been an enjoyable date night turned into an overwhelming sense of disappointment. The lack of professionalism, absence of management, hostile employee behavior, and unnecessary escalation completely ruined our evening. We left frustrated, uncomfortable, and stressed, having paid full price with no meaningful resolution or recourse offered for the issues we experienced. This was not simply about food quality--it was about how customers were treated. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend dining here.

The snow crab scissors helped me to get every tiny piece of crab out of the shell. What a perfect tool. The corn and potato was delicious soaked in the medium house special sauce. Excellent lunch.

He ordered The Old Same Place drink (old fashioned spinoff), and I got the Broadmoor Norteño. Both were good; mine was spicier than anticipated--made me drink a lot of water with it, which is good for me lol. I got the calamari special. It was good, not the best I've had but good. I also ordered the halibut special. It was buttery and nutty and amazing and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly salty and the potato puree and carrots made me more excited for Thanksgiving coming up! Hubby ordered the dry aged salmon special, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. He will be back during lunch sometime to try the fish and chips to see if they compare to his experience in the UK. He is dubious yet hopeful. Overall, great date night place!
