1/5 -- Horrible Customer Service Service Experience I would not recommend Bill's Towing, its manager Joseph, or the driver Cody to anyone. My experience was extremely unprofessional, stressful, and disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived at Chuck's Garage, the manager at the front desk appeared visibly frustrated that I had brought in a towed vehicle and gave the impression that he did not want the business at all. This made the situation uncomfortable from the beginning. After receiving the quote, which I felt was extremely high, he seemed to pressure me into continuing with the service despite my concerns about the cost. When I decided not to move forward, I stepped outside and was on the phone with Bill's Towing. At that point, the manager came out and said he would charge me $75 if I was going to keep my vehicle there, in a passive-aggressive tone, even though I had already made arrangements to tow my vehicle to another mechanic shop. Pricing Issues Additionally, the company they work with, Chuck's Garage, tried to charge me approximately $700 just to inspect my vehicle and diagnose the A/C problem. I had previously been given a much lower estimate over the phone, but once I arrived, the price was significantly increased, which felt misleading given the circumstances. Wait Time I then waited an hour and a half in 102-degree weather for Bill's Towing after being told the wait would be about 30 minutes, which added even more frustration to an already difficult situation. Staff Behavior Cody the wannabe tough guy was very rude and said it was policy that they could not give rides to the next location; however, after a call with the manager, they said it was not a policy at all. He did not provide me with a ride to the next location and left me stranded. Then, only about five minutes after arriving, he threatened to have my vehicle impounded while I was still on the phone actively trying to arrange payment for the towing service. Overall Experience The entire situation felt rushed, disrespectful, and heavily overpriced. Based on my experience, I would 100% not recommend this business and strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. read more

Long story short: I was very satisfied with the consultation and service with this shop. I will return for future services and would highly recommend this shop to anyone in the area. Now the long story: A few weeks back I was in need of a mobile mechanic due to my car being dead in my driveway. Found Chucks on Yelp and read the reviews and figured I give it a shot. Went to their shop to see what they had to offer, right away I felt at ease after meeting Ms. Dana. She told me up front how much it was gonna cost me for a mechanic to come to my residence and suggested that it would be cheaper to have my car towed to the shop. Ms. Dana offered the tow company the shop uses and informed me of the cost of the tow, but told me to get with my insurance company first. Called my insurance company and had my car towed at no cost. Once I got my car to Chucks they worked on it right away and by the end of the day it was done! Took my car to the car wash in the morning. When I got in it later that afternoon to go on about my day my car would not start. No lights, no clicking sound, the horn wouldn't work, had to manually lock and unlock the car, even the dome lights were dead. My car was basically a lawn ornament. Tried jumping it, no luck. Took the battery to Advance Auto to get it tested and charged, connected it back to the car, still no luck. Checked all the fuses all were working and weren't blown. At this point I've done what I could do, at least to my level of car competency. The service was great, the staff were friendly, the price was reasonable and you are not nickeled and dimed unlike other shops I've been to. I've been in the area for over 3 years and now that I found Chucks Mechanic, this will be the only place I will take my cars to. And would recommend it to anyone that needs a good quality and honest shop. read more

Courteous, professional and knowledgeable are the three words that came immediately to mind upon arriving and departing. It was easy to find and when I walked in I was quickly and courteously greeted - they knew who I was right away. I think my car gave me away. When I was asked for my key, I pointed out that there's a hidden bolt for the door panel, but they politely smiled and quieted my concerns with nods that they were already quite familiar with the job at hand and they went right to work. The atmosphere there is comfortable, relaxed and laid back. No pressure whatsoever. I dropped down into their crunchy leather couch next to a quilted Red, White and Blue blanket and I waited for the job to be done and caught up on my car knowledge by reading several of their magazines laid out on a round table as one of their prized employees tidied up the place a bit. The McLaren 720s... very nice to say the least. It didn't take very long and soon I was paying and exchanging pleasantries with Chuck. Upon inspection the panel looked as if it had never been taken off except for the fact that now the lock actuator was now working. The only tell-tale sign I noticed was a minor amount of grease on my seat, which the mechanic probably inadvertently left behind. Luckily, it was covered by a seat cover that I use when I go running to keep the sweat off the seat proper and is easily washable - so no harm done. Chucks Mobile Mechanics & Garage is the place to go if you need any kind of repair with prices that are hard to beat. No more suffering for me at the hands of the local dealerships - those days are gone. Going to the dealership, here, is like getting a molar pulled out by a rusty pair of pliers without being anesthetized. read more

Chuck and Dana .. with all these 5 Star reviews, I don't know if you need another one, but you're going to get it anyways. I found Chuck' s shop, in October, when looking for a place that could diagnose and repair/replace a transmission. I thought I had just found a shop that could stay within my budget. But I found so much more. Dana called me every step of the way letting me know what was going on, or in the case of my Jeep what was going wrong. Not once did she make me feel like the shop was just trying to get one over me. Dana worked hard to get the best prices on the parts needed, keeping my spirits up. And the guys wprked hard ensuring they did it right the first time. They got my repairs done timely and efficiently. I was very pleased. I've been back since for more repairs needed, and will go back again. In fact, I will not ever go to a different mechanic as long as I am in the area. Outstanding Service & Genuine Care I cannot say enough good things about this company and the owner. My vehicle completely shut down in the middle of a busy service road with fast-moving traffic, and I had no power at all--not even hazard lights. It was a frightening and dangerous situation. By the grace of God, this gentleman was directly behind me. He immediately turned on his hazard lights and stayed there to protect me from oncoming traffic. He then called his business, and within minutes, a tow truck was on the scene. What truly sets him apart is that he didn't stop there. He personally made sure I was safe, took the time to drive me all the way to my residence, and showed a level of kindness and professionalism that you just don't see often anymore. This was not just a tow--it was compassion, integrity, and service from the heart. If you ever need help, this is the company you want to call. There's no surprises with Chuck. Car broke down, needed a new starter, and called him. He took a few minutes to look things up and gave me a price quote over the phone. The quote was a bit lower than other places had mentioned. He offered towing (cost extra), and they came got the car about an hour after I called. I never had to go by there until he called and said it was ready. Repairs took several hours, which I imagine was mainly them waiting on the part to come in. Went to pick up car, cost was exactly as quoted and car startedu p, and have had no issues since. Starter replaced, no issues since. Good people there. Should also mention the "mobile" shop is out of service as the permanent shop is always busy. So at least for now, they won't come to you to do the repairs. But again, he will arrange towing. My review is way overdue as Chuck and his team worked on my Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax twice in early 2018. The first time was to get the truck restarted after I messed up when changing a fuel filter and did not prime the filter properly, allowing air into the fuel lines. The second time was to replace the thermostats before we moved from Fort Hood in the summer. Both times, Chuck and his team demonstrated their skill and amazing customer service by providing knowledgeable and reasonably priced work on my truck. Chuck's Mobile Mechanics is an amazing example of a locally owned and operated, honest and dependable auto shop. I would absolutely recommend Chuck and his team to anyone - locals and military personnel alike. I wish that I could find such a solid locally operated shop at my current duty location. Well, no fault of the garage, I had to take my 2001 Hyundai Accent back for more maintenance. This time it was for the struts. This car has been great for me and all this maintenance is due. In spite of having to answer the phone (there is usually have an awesome customer service lady there, she has returned...yippee), they were still able to work on my vehicle and get it completed in a timely manner. I am so thankful that I have found mechanics and a garage that I can rely on. Also, because of the initial work that they did on the gas tank, I was able to finally after 5 years, figure out how many miles to the gallon my car gets. It now gets approx 19 mpg in the city and approx 31 mpg on the highway. That is wonderdul for a 17 year old car with approx 104,..miles. Thank you all so very much. read more

Great service! I had the ignition light on and a different mechanic told me nothing was wrong that I just need it new sparks plugs but even after the sparks plugs were changed the light was still on! I talked to the previous mechanic and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so I took it to Chucks Mobile Mechanic and they figured out what was wrong with it in just a few hours and only took a day to get fixed!! I love how they were able to deliver my car to my house after it was finished especially because I have a baby so they were very understanding and mobile ! The price was a bit high but you get what you paid for and trust me their work it's worth every penny! If something else ever goes wrong to my car I'm definitely taking it to them again! NOT a mobile service. I needed someone to come to my location to look at my car so, based on their high rating on Yelp, I called Chuck's "Mobile" Mechanics only to be told that they don't provide mobile service. The lady that answered the phone was pleasant and professional and told me that they used to provide mobile services but don't do so now. I gave them 5 stars because I don't want to adversely affect their favorable Yelp rating by giving them a poor rating, but I do think they need to change their name to more accurately depict the service they currently provide. If you need auto service then consider all of the other comments. If you need on-site service then find an actual mobile mechanic. read more

I've got an 06 F250 6.0 that had a crank no start issue. A lot of shops have issues working on them bc the 6.0 diesel is a notorious pain in the ass and unreliable. My truck has been in other shops just about every month since I bought it in last Aug. Long story short Chucks Garage and specifically Matt, his diesel tech, worked on it and I've been on the road for 2 months with 0 issues. Truck is running better than when I bought it and starts up consistently every time whether hot or cold, something it hadn't done till Chuck's Garage worked on it. Chuck was Awesome!! I didn't have an appointment and was freaking out when my truck broke down on Sunday. He got it in quick on Monday and let me know when it was fixed and confirmed what I was told was wrong with it. He didn't try and hike the price and charge me a bunch for nothing. Seriously, if you read nothing else ... Go to Chuck and Dana As most people are aware, when you need a mechanic you fret over the end bill. Dana was so wonderful in keeping the communication flowing about my vehicles issues. She called me at every twist and turn. Always offering time to see what was going on before going to the next step. And always keeping me in know about what the charges were going to be for each step. She and Chuck worked to get my vehicle running properly while keeping my end bill within budget. I couldn't be happier about the outcome or having my baby back. Thanks for all the help. read more

Chuck and Dana were great to work with. I couldn't have asked for better service. Dana kept me in the loop throughout the entire process (when Chuck would be at my house, when the parts were coming in, etc.). Chuck was sharp as a tack. Took him about 20 min to diagnose the repair of my vehicle and only about an hour to fix it. After he fixed me up, he waited for me to test drive it and make sure I was satisfied with the repair. I would and will refer him to everyone in the area that needs auto repair. Great company, great service, and great rates. I don't have enough good things to say about them. read more

I called the day before to make an appointment for repairs on my Jeep Cherokee. I took it in the following day. They contacted me the morning I took it in to let me know the issue, and the price. I had the option to pick up me vehicle the same day, but they requested I pick it up the following morning so that they could complete additional diagnostics to insure everything was fine. I am very happy with the work that was done, considering they had to basically remove the top of my engine. With the prices and the turn around time, I'm sure I will always go here for any future issues. read more

I always leave Chuck's shop satisfied with their work. This shop has performed work on my 2004 Suburban numerous times. Most recently, They replaced my brakes and rotors. My vehicle has over 245,000 miles, and thanks to Chuck's, it is very reliable and runs smooth. The quality of their work and reliability is top notch. Customer service is A-1. Prices are reasonable, and I usually pay less than what was quoted. They always find a way for me to save money without sacrificing the quality of their work. Chuck has been my mechanic for awhile now i even bought my last two cars from him so when Veronica's shifter broke in 3 places the first quote was more than i could afford so the awesome lady behind the desk made some calls and found a used part and cut my cost in half ,as a mom of 2 im always on the go and i had my car back in 2 days i am more than thrilled with their work and needless to say i will not be taking veronica anywhere else .
