I prefer to do business with local businesses and so I searched on yelp for oil change places. I saw this one had good reviews so I called to schedule an appt. I waited at the front desk for 15 minutes along with 3 other people. One man that i was waiting with decided to go find someone to let them know all 3 of us were waiting... about 5 min later a man with a beard finally showed up. I'm guessing he runs the place. I told him a had an appt. He told me where to leave my keys and i proceedto wait in a very dirty waiting area. Finally it had been over an hour ( i was told on the phone it would take 30-1 hour) Noone's at the desk so i go looking for my car. It's still in the same place i parked it. I thought well maybe that same space was open when they pulled my car out. I walk through the bays looking for someone. Noone knows about my car (there were 2 other guys working on cars) Finally the same original guys come up and says he hasn't started on it. He said someone called in today and they were behind. I totally get that. I told him it would have been good to know that when I dropped my keys off. He said sorry and that was it. Not good customer service AT ALL! I then told him I would need to go ahead and go. I was not unkind but SOOOOO VERY DISAPPOINTED. There are so many services I've used them for on many cars. I always take a new car to them to look it over and give me the rundown on what is needed. It's a reasonable price, and then I'm aware of any issues or concerns. If ever they are working on the car and see anything, they let me know and give me a timeline. One car I had, they said it was time to get something different. I did and am so grateful I listened. It saved my life. They are worth every cent and never gouge. One time, I was advised of the dealership because of issues with electronics. The dealership had to reorder the part and replace it again at no charge the second time. I feel like they look out for me. I know enough about cars to know when I'm being given a story that has happened at some other shops. They have fixed what other mechanics messed up. Never have they told me anything but the truth and even helped me find a way. If you want an honest mechanic who will be straight and charge you for the job, this is a great place to get your car fixed. They are busy because they are that good. If you don't have anyone looking out for you with your vehicle, Jones Firestone in Belton will tell it like it is. They even get the tires right. Mechanics Are Not Lawyers! I needed my 2001 Ford F-350 stake body truck inspected for annual registration in Bell County TX. To my shock and dismay, the mechanic failed the truck for the third brake light being blocked by the stake body. The high mounted brake light works but the bulkhead of the truck bed obscured its view. I asked the mechanic if, "he was sure?" and he insisted that he was and the light is required to be visible. Coincidentally, I had a scheduled appointment with the Texas Auto Theft Task Force following the safety inspection. The officer spent 30 mins inspecting the vehicle and signed my paperwork. A discussion of safety inspection failure for the brake light naturally came up. As a result of that conversation, I verified the TX vehicle code, which also provided examples for the inspection stations to follow. After a series of back and forth text messages with the inspection station, I was able to convince them that they were in error in failing the 11,200 lb GVWR truck. read more

Do you like having AC in your car? Then don't take your car here. Both my grandparents car and my car had excellent working AC UNTIL we brought them to Jones. When driving the car there we had the AC on and, like I said, the AC worked excellent. When we got the cars back and were driving back home the AC no longer worked. My grandparents asked the people at Jones about it and they wouldn't acknowledge the fact that it worked before being brought there, they just kept saying that they'd fix their car for $650. *Also, they're not totally honest with you. They scheduled us for 1:30, it got to 2:10 and we saw they hadn't brought the car in yet so we called them to see what was taking so long. When we called the receptionist put us on hold while she "went and checked" then she said they "had the car in the shop and were almost done working on it." Not only did she lie, but it was another 10-15 minutes before they even brought the car in. Needless to say, my car will NOT be brought back there. Ever again. read more

My car has been acting weird and finally I decided to take it in on a day off from work. I'm always wary of feeling like I'm going to get duped when I go to an auto shop because I'm not particularly knowledgeable in the Ways of the Honda Civic. After reading some good reviews on other sites and from friends' recommendations, I dropped my car off one morning at Jones'. My car problem turned out to be nothing major at the moment (hardening of the engine mounts) and although they spent a day and a half with it (it sounds weird turning on first thing and they wanted to take a second listen) they didn't charge me a single cent. They called and kept me updated on my car situation, were extremely professional, very helpful, and really knew what they were talking about. They could have charged me for a diagnostic test like another place in Belton does or even said I needed to replace my engine mounts but no! They were very honest, told me what sounds to look for in case my engine mounts do break, and told me I could stop by free of charge for them to listen to my car any time. I plan on taking my car (and my huband's) here for any future repairs, tires, issues, etc. Seriously. Take your car here! read more
