Pry mark and badly seated window button.

Military/Vets Beware: I wasn't going to write a negative review since they rectified the issue I first had with them (where they ordered the wrong part, did the wrong maintenance, lied to me, and asked for $480 more), however we were returned a damaged vehicle with an incorrectly placed window switch - that shouldn't have even been touched. So now I am writing a review for other customers to be aware of the shoddy craftsmanship and repair work this shop does. They sure do put the 'discount' in Texas Discount Automative. See photos. First issue was that I requested a motor replacement on the window and they replaced the regulator (they are not attached/ a package in the our car model). I authorized the transaction to fix my vehicle's window on 14 September under false pretenses.  When I called this auto shop I stated I wanted the window motor replaced (multiple times, every phone call). It was previously diagnosed at a different repair shop as needing a new motor. However, since TDA quoted me a cheaper repair I took my vehicle to them. I trusted what was told to me (in response to my request for a new window motor) and brought my vehicle to TDA with the understanding that my window motor was being replaced. Even when I called asking when the part would be in, I asked when the "window motor" would be in, not when the "regulator" would be in and I was not corrected. In the labor for what was approved in the first quote, it states "regulator motor." On the 25th of September (over a week after dropping the vehicle off) Todd called me stating a regulator did not fix the issue - which makes sense since this is not what I brought my vehicle in to be repaired for. I stated on the phone that I asked for a new motor and not a regulator. No apology was made and I was told the regulator was a "special order that can't be returned" and that I would need to pay an additional $480 for the motor replacement. After this conversation, when I verbally corrected what repair was originally ordered to be done, TDA changed the verbiage in the second quote for the repair to no longer include "motor" as a way to back track. Upon further research, there are no "regulator motor" parts- just regulators and just motors. To someone like myself, with very little mechanical knowledge, using the term "motor" when a motor replacement was requested, would logically be assumed as a motor. Especially when it is the last word of the listed item. "Regulator" in this instance would be assumed to be a descriptive term, not the actual item itself when put in front of "motor." Not a regulator. Todd, you as a certified automotive mechanic being paid at an established auto repair shop, should know the correct titles of motor parts and should know the difference between the two parts and should know that "regulator motor" is not an actual auto part. The term "regulator motor" should not have been used.  Furthermore, this company did not properly document the client concern on tekmetric (the online auto quote program your company uses). It was left blank and says "no client concerns." If I didn't have any concerns, I wouldn't have brought my vehicle to your business. If the client concern had been filled out, perhaps you would've known I requested, multiple times, a window motor and not a regulator. As mentioned above, although they did right this wrong by RETURNING the regulator (that was not returnable) and only charging me for the original labor estimate and the motor, I had to write this company in an email requesting a written response prior to receiving the well deserved correction. Todd told me he "misunderstood" what repair I wanted - maybe ask for clarification next time if you're confused?? Not sure how a window motor is confusing and not clear enough for you, a certified mechanic. After all this fuss we finally got a phone call that the window was working (guess it was the motor after all! Who would've thought?) and we went to pick it up that same day (September 29). My husband gets in the vehicle and sees that the mechanics did not properly re-seat the window switch - even though that wasn't part of the repair. And in their unnecessary repair process TDA damaged the vehicle's door when they pried that part open. Too bad we don't trust these 'mechanics' to correct this and now have to waste our own time to fix it ourselves. Do not recommend the unnecessary headache. Response to the impolite owner: I only spoke with the lady at the front desk and Todd. I never spoke with you so I'm unsure how you're stating these points as facts. I am not a mechanic, but I did get another company to diagnose - so it was not self diagnosed (clearly you did not read what I wrote). It's very clear that the quote I signed for was stated to be a motor. I don't need a hand out (what a kind response!) and that's not how my vehicle looked, but thank you!

My truck was needing some expensive repairs, and they took it in and had it done in less than 10 days. Highly recommend them.

I have used Hanks for different repair services for over 15 years and have had nothing but the best…read moreservice. Their work is top notch and once it's been fixed, I know it's done right. Hanks sets the gold standard for customer service, I would send my daughter here by herself, knowing she's going to be treated fairly, with respect, and that she would not be taken advantage of. I recommend Hanks to anyone that needs work done on their car. They are the kindest, knowledgeable people in the industry

They were very friendly and helpful and actually listened to what I wanted to have done and gave me a good price and a 2-3 day timeframe . I came back to drop my truck off the next day and they confirmed with a different guy exactly what I wanted so there was no miscommunication. Before starting on it, they called me and said they didn't have a super 10 in stock and would be an additional 2-3 days to get in but had a performance muffler in stock so I decided to go with that instead and a chrome tip since they had to build a custom pipe from the y-pipe back. I picked it up on Wednesday (started work Tuesday I believe) and I am very pleased with how it sounds and looks and really turns this truck into what a v8 should sound like. Thank you especially to Travis and Mike for helping me get this done!

DERRICK WILL HOOK YOU UP!!! USE HIS SERVICES!!!!…read more i went to derrick last minute because i had a radiator leak on my 2013 chevy malibu that was beyond bad & leaving puddles everywhere. i took it to a shop that was trying to charge me almost $700 & didn't have any availabilities until next week or whenever they could work on my car. I came across derricks yelp & immediately gave him a call & he assured me he could look at my car and help me figure out what was going on. i got to derricks shop where he works on cars and he greeted me & checked out my car. He showed me what was going on & explained to me that i needed to get a new radiator asap or i would over heat my engine & having an ecotec engine was going to cost me A LOT of money if i allowed to over heat. long story short... DERRICK IS BEYOND AWESOME. i got him my car & he promised to have my car done the next day by 2 or no later then 3pm & he did. HE STUCK BY HIS WORD TO HAVE MY CAR DONE BY WHEN I NEEDED IT! once i arrived he showed me my old alternator, where the leak was happening, what caused it, and how he fixed it. he also changed out my clamps because they were better then the ones i had. NO he didn't charge me an arm & leg like shops do especially when they know you're in the military. he charged me under $200 & i honestly felt like i ripped him off knowing how much he had to do to get to my radiator for my car model. needless to say i tipped him for all his hard work because LORD KNOWS HE DESERVED IT! IF HE QUOTES YOU A PRICE HE'LL HONOR THAT PRICE & i was impressed. he knows what he is doing & is a very outgoing & easy person to talk to. AGAIN... THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!! i'll be sure to come to you as long as i'm in your area & send people your way!

The compressor is often replaced…read morewith a condenser and an expansion valve, but since the vehicle is a 2007, I had some budgetary constraints to remain within. As a result, I ONLY wanted the AC compressor and serpentine belt replaced. My usual go to repair shop refused to accept the job unless I agreed to replace ALL components, but that would have exceeded our budget for a 2007 vehicle. The M and M One Stop Auto Shop had been open for about a week so I gave them a try. Monty crunched some numbers and quoted me a fair price. I told him I'd discuss it with my wife and get back with him. A few days later I had an afternoon free, so I called Monty around 1:00 and said let's do it! By 2:00 the vehicle was on a tow truck heading to the shop, by 3:00 I was told that the new part was due in by 4:00, and by 5:45 the job was complete. The SUV is running as good as ever, and yes, the AC is working fine. BTW a gentleman from Phil's Paint and Body (it might have been Phil), handled the tow, he has a sort of partnership with Monty for flat-rate towing services and the tow charge was included in my final bill. Payment - I received my invoice as a text from Square and the cost fell well within the range of the estimate. Payment was easy and I received a digital receipt as a PDF. Vets, be sure to ask about a military discount. Cost / Value - Monty is a straight-shooter, no mark-ups, no add-ons, no BS. Hours - The hours are VERY reasonable, weekdays 8:00 - 6:00, I mean, who does that? Location - The location is great, it's where the old Cove Taxi used to be right on 1st street. As a bonus of sorts, there's a Subway located a short walking distance to the north, and it's open whenever the M and M One Stop Shop is open. Waiting area - I wasn't there long enough to see if they had a lounge or waiting area, but see my comment about Subway above. Wi-Fi - I wasn't there long enough to see if they offered free Wi-Fi. Restroom - I haven't visited their restroom. Cleanliness? - It's an auto repair shop, and it LOOKED as expected, like an automotive repair shop. Need a vehicle repair, give Monty a call at M and M One Stop Auto Shop, he'll hook you up!
