This is a great place to hang out and watch sports and have a few drinks. The colossal pretzel is the best one I have ever had. The servers are very friendly. Pretty good little hidden place. Heard about the half bacon half beef burger and had to try it. Pretty darn tasty stuff. Staff is really sweet. Only one bathroom for such a large place. It could use a coat of paint and some TLC but I'll be back for that burger. read more

Stopped here on my travels from Southern California around lunch time. A few were seated at the bar, which made me a little hesitant after seeing it in the reviews, but I'm glad I stopped by. The place was pretty relaxed and we took a wall seat. Had the fries, which were good and tried the 50/50 and Ghost burgers. Both were delicious, but I love myself a classic burger, so I would probably just stick with that next time as a personal preference. The sidewinders with garlic were nice and potatoey and perfect, I could have had a second order all to myself. The price was average from my experience, so not cheap or ridiculous either. The service however was great! I was going to get my food to go, but the server was considerate and made us all feel welcomed so I ended up ordering in. read more

Came back here after quite a while with my parents and the food was really nice and hot. It looked really good, my mom liked her grilled cheese even though it wasn't exactly what she ordered. I liked the fish in chips but my dad was disappointed at the size. The waitress seemed to also be the bartender and was very busy and seemed to not really wanna take orders. I feel like they really needed more than one person for that. She was doing bar and food and I feel like that was the reason this review went to 4 stars. She was however very nice, it was just a bit annoying to have to repeatedly ask for things like lemon for the fish. I completely understand She was busy. It wasn't really her fault but they definitely needed more staff. All in all a good lunch and everyone was having fun. read more

Definitely let down after reading the reviews. Went on an early Sunday afternoon - saw a review about a busy day during a Niner game, but as it's still pre-season assumed it wouldn't be too busy. Good size raucous crowd, mostly playing or watching darts - but not packed as I assume it would be on a game-day Sunday. Wife and I sat at the bar away from the dart boards. Bar tender attended to us fairly quickly and got our drink orders and menus but she seemed quite rushed. Same when she came back with drinks and took our food order. We just got out what we wanted and she rushed off. I wanted to substitute rings for fries but she was so rushed and off so soon I didn't get the chance to ask (nor did she ask "is that all you need?") Worst part was the wait for the food - nearly 35 minutes. Even though we were sitting at the bar and three ladies were working behind it, not once were we even looked at, let alone spoken too (guess we had to be a regular - they got some attention!). When the food finally arrived, it was quickly placed in front of us by one of the other ladies and off she went. Had to wait several minutes for one of them to pass by to ask for a knife and fork. My wife's tots we okay, normal bar type (did have lots of bacon though) but my Philly tri-tip was a bit disappointing. The tri-tip wasn't very tender and it lacked any flavor. Chucks came through for us tonight. In lieu of all the closures and staying in, my roomie and I wanted to buy local tonight to help break up the manotany of eating out of the pantry and fridge. We were happy to see that one of our local faves was still open for delivery. We used doordash..has never failed us before but tonight, they brought us the completely wrong order....too many people with the same name. No big deal, I called chucks to tell them what happened, Brittnay knew almost immediately what happened and offered to remake the entire order and deliver for free. She gave no hassle and apologised profusely. All in all we got our food, they kept customers and no one had to scream or get an attitude for it to happen. In town for work and staying in a local hotel. I was looking for something local and not a chain. The area around Yosemite Ave has plenty of chain fast food places and I thought I wasn't going to have much of a choice. But I felt a little adventurous and walked toward Home Depot. In the distance I saw the sign for Chucks Place. Decided to walk over to see what was there and glad I did. Approaching Chucks Place you can tell by the neon beer signs and the size..this is a sports bar...the door decal says "Sports Cafe". From outside you can see that it's a spacious place. Once inside your view is confirmed. Plenty of space for a sizable crowd. Tonight was moderately full, but got busier as the night went on. At one point one of the patron let everybody know that a couple was celebrating their 30th anniversary. The other patrons applauded and congratulated the couple. Very Local good vibe. I felt like a local!! First thing I noticed is that the place is clean and doesn't have any stale beer smell that some sports bars have. The atmosphere is definitely local with plenty of conversations and people meeting their friends and co workers with hearty handshakes and hugs. Guys and girls...guys with girls. A good mix. This night country music was playing in the background, but not blasting. Just right. 6 large TVs playing a variety of sports. Next is the various activities. Pool tables, dart boards, juke box. I was even told that there was an add on room next door for "paint night" and "poker night". Very eclectic sports bar!! Plenty of bar space to sit up to or individual tables and booths. All this and I haven't even got to the food yet!! Next is the service. I read in some posts that service was poor. Not True!! Within minutes of sitting I was greeted by Cherie. Friendly like I had been coming there for years. Bubbly and smiling!! I looked over the menu, but just wasn't sure what I wanted. No problem. She was patient and kept checking on me as she passed by serving other patrons. As it got busier, she shifted into over gear but didn't lose her hospitality!! Great job Cherie!! Now the food. The menu is extensive and varied. Tonight was chicken wing day. $.69 wings all day. They have 14 types of half pound burgers, 15 sandwich selections, 18 appetizer selections, including a giant 2 pound pretzel (see the photo), 4 different types of salads, 7 types of Tacos and Cal-Mex selections. Tonight I had the Tri-Tip sandwich with side salad. It came on a soft Kaiser type roll which was very fresh. The tri-tip was medium and very flavorful. They add BBQ sauce. I added a little ranch for a tangy and smooth flavor. As i am originally from the NYC and Philly area, I have been craving a street type giant pretzel. Chucks has a "Colossal Pretzel". I just had to check it out. The pretzel is about 2 pounds and comes out on a hanger. It also comes with a nacho type cheese. But being from the east I was hankering for some good ole yellow mustard!! Cherie did not disappoint and brought me my own freshly opened bottle of Heinz yellow mustard. SCORE!! She also told me that they also have a homemade honey mustard. The pretzel appears to be a deep fried type. The outside was crispy but not brick hard. The inside was chewy and soft. I did wonder if it could be baked. But that does not take away from it being good. Drinks and beer. Unfortunately, I'm not a drinker, but there is a full service bar with a whole page of a variety of beers. IPA, blonde and pale ales, wheat, amber and dark, Pilsners and pale lagers. Lastly value. Prices at Chucks Place are very reasonable most items under $10, with only the "Colossal Cheeseburger" (nearly 1 pound) at $13. So...Chucks has earned my 5 stars. I'm sure you will find what I have found...good atmosphere, good service, good food, lots of selections, at a reasonable price. Kudos to Chucks Place read more

I came here twice and both times had bad experiences with service, as they were extremely slow on everything, mind you it was only about 4pm. After an hour long wait for our appetizer and food to come out I had to find someone to get me a refill on my soda because I wasn't not being attended to. Came to check out this restaurant on locals suggestion. They were so right. Delivery and takeout are still open and it was literally some of the best food we have ever had. My guys are hamburger and club sandwich professionals and my son says the colossal cheese hamburger is literally the best one he's ever had and that is saying a lot. Papa says club sandwich Big Time awesome I had the tri-tip sandwich with just the right amount of barbecue sauce spicy but not too much we searched and got pretzels and bacon tater tots and oh my gosh or thoroughly pleased with those also the pretzels there just aren't words to explain how amazing they are.
